Good food and service with residents that had good information. Staff had good information also and were full of detail on the living conditions at Lone Star Living. We will be moving there in November.

The faculty/staff are /helpful , and obviously designed to try for professional consistency, across-the-board, and to know when they need to vary their approach. There is plenty of nepotism (a good thing. ) that seems to allow for a seamless transition between the shifts and availability to residents.

We are independent living with aging in place. We can provide a few vetted, honest, caring care professionals when and if you need some assistance. We do not promote one specific group or agency because the resident determines what kind of help they need. We have staff 24/7.Your feedback is valued and helps out team profession and efficient. The staff has been extremely helpful and supportive. We would probably recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far. You have to go to the dining hall to eat or it's [fee removed] more a month for them to deliver the meals. I don't know what other places are out there / how much they are and I would not recommend the community to someone who has trouble getting out of the house

Looking for Community with a capital C? LSL attracts fascinating well-educated "characters" who've traveled the globe. We take newbies under our wings as they adjust. Do staff like us? You bet. They belong here with us. Are you a social butterfly? A bit on the shy side? Come play Rummikub or bridge with us. Enjoy chair zumba, our book club, trips, and more. A foodie at heart? You will not believe the variety of healthy delicious meals our chef creates and our kind-hearted helpers serve! Deciding among options? Go ahead, compare us to those high-dollar assisted living facilities. You will be awestruck at our reasonable prices. My little SS check covers it all with money to spare. Amazing, right? Staff is great and consistent. Facility is nice and well kept. On site personal care services are lacking severely, they're not associated with Lone Star Living (Tarry Towne Estates) but they are virtually impossible to communicate with.

The value for the money was the main reason our family chose Lone Star Living over other places we initially looked into. The staff are very friendly and helpful anytime we have any questions. I would recommend this facility for retirement living.

Staff are friendly and really seem to care for all their residents. They help with furniture if someone has a need, are very responsive to feedback from residents and their families, and encourage community with social and craft activities.

My loved one is currently a resident at Lone Star Living and things are great overall. My loved one is finally adjusting, it took him awhile. I do have to notify the front desk of small things. However, they are very kind and patient with my dad.

I wouldn't recommend them. They lie about a 2 year rent freeze they don't put it the contract when you sign. The contract is only available online which makes it difficult for the senior citizens to access. They threaten you with rent increase when residents talk to each other about their rates. The transportation bus is broken down more than it works so don't rely on them transporting you anywhere.

April 29, 2024I want to respond to this review in all fairness. It is unfortunate that your mother makes unrealistic demands on a regular basis and threatens to write false reviews on this platform. We have two vehicles that are always operational to provide our residence to appointments. On numerous occasions, when your family member refused to fill out a transportation slip, our managers took their personal vehicles to accommodate her appointment that she insisted on going to. It seems that you tried to discredit our community on false pretense. All agreements are in writing on one simplified document. They are reviewed before signing by both parties. We offer rent freezes in writing which a number of residents have been offered. We try to accommodate an appease all residence here at Lone Star*. Some people are just not happy in general, which is not a reflection of the high-level of satisfaction we have with 99% of our residence. if you have a concern, come in and sit down and talk with the managers and flush out the truth before posting negative reviews. We are 100% transparent and do our best. That’s why we are one of the highest rated retirement living communities in Houston, it is unfortunate, no matter what is done for your mother. It is never good enough.
I am currently a resident at Lone Star Living and overall the experience has been okay. However, they always offer Mexican food- more often than not. It's too spicy for most elderly people. Also, I miss my washer and dryer. As well as my dishwasher and waste disposal. Overall, however, I would recommend the facility to others.

March 30, 2024Thank you for sharing your opinion. We encourage all residents to come to the monthly chefs table to discuss our menus. We typically have Mexican food once a week per the requests of our residents. We always try to limit spices to all foods, but sometimes Mexican food tastes a little strong because of the required ingredients for authentic taste. Please come to the meetings and share your suggestions. It's nice we provide free laundry rooms in every building on every floor. This way if you have more than 2 loads to do at once there are plenty of machines to get it all done. With all meals selected, prepared and cleaned up we try to keep residents having to do any dishes. We do it for you. Thank you for choosing lone star and recommending it to others.
I mean I like the community. They've been pretty good to my loved one and I would recommend.I have been very happy with our experience with Lone Star living.

Friendly place, nice workers, big apartments, food much better than Belmont Village near West U, and much cheaper than Belmont. Negative is no dishwashers in apartments. My sister's AC went out shortly after she moved in, they quickly replaced it with new unit. Could have more activities. Neighborhood isn't great but it hasn't affected the Lone Star buildings or community.

We always listen to making the necessary changes to our menus. We encourage residents to help make our dining experience memorable. Really no need for dishwasher since we provide breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week. Activities change weekly, monthly depending on what our residents want to do weather in the community or out on the town. We have great neighbors who have family members living here at the property. Top priority is resident safety and to this day we haven't had any issues. I'm glad you have placed your trust in us with your loved one. Thank you from everyone here at Lone Star Living
It is a great place for our loved ones. I picked this community for the price and what they offered. I would recommend to others.

I would highly recommend this facility to others. They were extremely helpful during move-in and helping us get everything that we needed. The meals have been good. My dad did enjoy them.

Our dining experience is receiving extremely positive feedback since we have made some additional adjustments based upon our resident suggestions. Its our goal to cater our dinning venue based upon resident palates. Our chef and kitchen staff take time everyday making all items from scratch. Friendly staff and residents. Professional and capable staff. Excellent meals. The move in process was easy. Costly, but very efficient. We used the company that Lone Star recommended. We would use them again. My brother loves the facility. He is pleased with housekeeping. We would recommend Lone Star Living to others.
