The staff at Juniper Village has exceeded my expectations during the process of placing both my parents, one in Assisted Living and my mother in Wellspring Memory Care. Although the process has been difficult and not without stress, the staff here have gone above and beyond not only in making my parents feel welcome, but also in assuaging any fears or concerns I've had. I've been kept up to date on everything, even if only to reach out and let me know everything is going well with my parents. [names removed] have all been extremely helpful and have answered every question I've had, taking care of matters with ease that, if left alone, I'd still be fumbling with. This is definitely the place to go for such an important decision.

The facility itself is older yet homelike. It’s small, which is good and you get to see other families visiting, which is also nice. The aids are great, management is another story. They do not respond to emails or phone calls. Revolving door of Management/Directors. Management/Director salaries should be going to their aids. Never saw an actual MD other than a podiatrist the 8 months my parents were there. Glucose was not being checked. New meds were started without family notification that had adverse effects. The more meds the higher the points for their inconsistent rates. The food in memory care is absolutely terrible. Never served a fresh fruit or fresh vegetable, sandwiches are their go to meal. They do try with activities and holiday parties for the residents. Overall, be sure to keep your eyes open and check loved ones medication list regularly! Good luck!

We are so thankful for the care our mom is receiving at Juniper Village. Their compassion and understanding of the emotional stress a family goes through when transitioning a loved one to a assisted living facility made the process seamless. Our mother is happy, healthy and active at Juniper. Our family has peace of mind knowing her needs are taken care of 24-7. Thank You Juniper Village!!

What our family likes the most about the Juniper Village at Williamstown community is the staff and the way they communicate with us & get my mom to do some activities. She has been there since the beginning of July and I feel she is doing better now,

Response from Juniper Village at Williamstown
October 3, 2023Hi there! Please reach out to us directly so we can better understand your concerns. Feedback is important to us!
I would tell others looking into Juniper Village at Williamstown that you need to go every day and check on your family member and stay on top of them. The care was awful unless I requested some thing then they did it. PA was horrible. Even then the nurse was not very professional. I was not happy at all my father went downhill very fast in the time that he was there. He sadly past after six weeks. He was prescribed hydrochlorothiazide by his cardiac doctor in November, and they refused to give it to him. We paid for my fathers wash to be done. It was supposed to be done weekly and it wasn't. I don't think he was getting showered at all. I put two bars of soap in his bathroom. The day he moved in and they were never touched. I bought brand, new towels and washcloths put them in his closet, and they were never used only one rag, and one towel the entire time he lived there he was never shaved. I had to shave him every two days. He gets no more tears over the counter drops three times a day. It took me a month before the physician assistant prescribed it so he could hardly open his eyes. And the week before he died they prescribed him and medicine for his mood, which basically made him lethargic and I told them it was too strong. They need to lower the dose and he died a couple days later. The nurse [name removed] told me that my father was pampered and that when I'm not around, he's basically running through the hallways the last two weeks he couldn't even walk. He was being pushed on his walker that has a seat. He was so weak even the physical therapist from Virtua called me with concerns. Said he puts on an act for me. Very upsetting that people don't care anymore.

Response from Juniper Village at Williamstown
June 28, 2023Cecelia C, thanks for your praise and kind comments about our team. We hope you have a wonderful day!
I thought Juniper Village at Williamstown was wonderful - I really liked them. Cleanliness of the facility stood out to me. The woman who met with us from administration was wonderful and very accommodating. My parents both needed care, one in assisted living and one in memory care, and Juniper Village was open to them both being together in the same apartment. The only reason we didn't pick them was because they were a little bit more of a distance from where we live. But it was high up on our list for consideration. Their pricing was a little bit cheaper too.
Response from Juniper Village at Williamstown
October 3, 2023Thank you for considering Juniper, and for the great review!
Making the decision to have my mom become a resident at a facility was a very difficult and stressful one. Juniper Village made it easy. From when I met with the sales director to meeting all of the staff, everyone was nice and helpful. I like the fact that at Juniper Village the assisted living building is totally separate from the memory care building. My mom is in the memory care building and I like that they are separate and have their own little home. My mom is always clean and she's always well-dressed. My mom is always taken care of nicely. The food is good. And there are lots of fun activities for her. They even have activities for the family which I've gone to a couple of times and they are very nice. A couple of times it took a while for the nurses and the director of nursing to get back to me with my questions and I did wait a while to get her 1st doctor appointment scheduled, but other than that I don't have any complaints about Juniper Village - Wellspring.

October 3, 2023Thank you Chris. We appreciate your review!
I considered a 5. It really is the best place Dad has lived and they know him, are kind to him, and take good physical care of him. I just wish they could provide more stimulation and activities for him including some "field trips". He is often bored and because of that he is unhappy.

I toured this facility and it was ok. The director was fabulous!
The staff members have continued to be so helpful and accommodating and anytime there is something going on or any changes they reach out to us and keep us updated. When we have visited a few times we have seen some art sensory activities going on. Based on our experience so far we would recommend the Juniper Village at Williamstown to other families .

When we were here visiting for our tour there were a lot of family members who were visiting their loved ones and they took the time to tell us how great it was going for them and that really stood out to us. It just overall seemed like a lot of people were happy with the services so we decided to go with Juniper Village. There is not a lot of variety and the quality of food might not be the best based off my impression and what I have seen. Everyone is friendly and the staff really care about their residents. We would recommend to others.

We walked in one day into my mothers bedroom, and it was a complete mess. Her bandages weren't changed at all. The staff was okay, and the administrator was awful. The amount of money we were paying to have her at this community was not worth it. For thanksgiving all my mother had to eat was a salad. The food was not good at all. House keeping was not so great either, my mother was wearing clothes that weren't hers. They say they had activities for the residents but they do not,the only thing they had was a guy come in on Sundays to sing a couple of songs. The rooms were a nice size, we liked the way it was laid out. They were understaffed in the dementia unit that they would gather everyone into a room and make them stay there so they could keep eyes on everyone at the same time.

Update: 8 years ago, mother began in assisted living with a live-in aide I paid extra for. It was approximately $10,000 a month for the monthly payment + the live-in aide. After 5 years, as she began to decline, I moved her to memory care & I appreciated the sincere care from the nursing staff. I'd actually previously posted how dedicated I found personnel & for the most part that still stands. 2 of the 3 directors deferred to my POA financial & medical position & followed without argument what my mother had in her advance directive. They always responded to any issue & were conscientious & respectful. The newest director who began 2019, ignored my questions, scoffed at me & told me I had no say at all regarding my mother's healthcare. His disrespectful & arrogant attitude unnerved me thinking he intended to challenge my mother's rights & mine as her advocate. Sadly, I chose to move her to another facility who provides the same services for $1,500 a month less! So it seems this new director inadvertently, did us a favor b/c I would never have moved her if he hadn't made it clear he wasn't going to follow protocol to at least be sensitive & empathetic to the needs of families & the difficult & stressful situation of caring for a loved one. I'd written to Juniper's President/CEO about my concerns. It was the 1st time in 8 years I felt I needed to do so. There was no response which gave credence that families & their loved ones don't matter to the power who is suppose to be in control. It appears they are only motivated by $$. A sad commentary after all this time. The President/CEO & supervisors need to reevaluate their consideration of what they're in business for, the care of Seniors & family members. Unfortunately, this is NOT an asset to Juniper Village.

I would like to thank the staff at Juniper Village- Wellspring for their caring and compassionate help these last few difficult months. Each and every staff member went above and beyond to help my mother, to the point of spoon feeding her milk when she was unable to drink through a straw. This week, when she went home to be with our Lord, they gave her respect and dignity and lots of hugs and tears for me. thank you from the bottom of my heart.

August 1, 2018Jeanne, thank you so much for these heartfelt comments. It has truly been our pleasure to care for your mother. Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers always!
For the last 5 years, Juniper Village at Williamstown has been home for my almost 95 year old mother. The care she has received has been wonderful! I can't say enough about her aids. They are friendly and caring but mostly patient with my sometimes feisty mom. Since moving to the memory care building, her dementia has progressed significantly. The nurses and aids have been encouraging and loving to me personally as well. I recommend Juniper if you are looking for a home for your loved one.
