So here’s the deal I’ve been to a lot of places with a lot of amenities, but at the end of the day what matters most is the care! Not the building or the decor but ZTHE CARE!!!I think a lot of people lose sight of that but they haven’t and I’m so grateful for that

What we really like about Iris Memory Care is that they are prompt in inquires. When they realized that my dad was experiencing a medical issue they called me immediately and had him transported to the hospital. They keep me informed of any activity out of the norm. The main nurse gave me her personal cell for communication. She would send pictures of my dad while he was involved in daily activities. Based on the experience we have had so far we would absolutely recommend this community to other families.

Response from Iris Memory Care Tulsa
May 21, 2023We always strive to take care of everyone with the utmost respect and importance, so I'm happy we are able to provide that for you and your dad!
This is a wonderful community. The staff communication with the family has been good anytime we have had questions or concerns. There are three meals a day served to the residents, and they have choices to choose from. The community could use more staff overall to assist with the care of the residents. Overall, it is a community I would recommend to others.

Response from Iris Memory Care Tulsa
May 21, 2023Thanks for such a great review!
I toured this community and it was nice!
The staff is very kind and caring, which we appreciate very much. The housekeeping does need some improvement. The floors are sticky and need mopping every time I go over there. They have a variety of activities, including quite a few events where families can come in, particularly around the holidays. They also have live music, pet therapy, and board games. I would just like to see a little more going on, and some of the things they have listed I don't see them doing.

It was very clean, and I appreciated that a lot. Many retirement centers have a smell when you go in, but not this one. Everybody was always willing to help me when I went in. They always had some kind of activity going on somewhere. It was a good experience for both me and my mother.

We chose Heritage Point of Tulsa because they were allowing residents to have meals together and sit in a common room during the pandemic. In her room, there was enough room for a bed, dresser, table, and love seat. They do have private and shared rooms available. I would recommend them to others looking.

[name removed] is the Community Relations Director at Heritage Point. What set this facility apart that other facilities didn't mention was their dedicated room for inclement weather. No other facility mentioned this specifically. The tenant rooms seemed small-ish to me (270 sq. ft.). Every 2 hours they perform rounds, which is a plus. They do provide a small refrigerator in the room we were shown. This is a Memory Care facility only, which after discussion with the rest of my family, was decided wasn't quite needed with Dad just yet. Perhaps in the future, but just not at this time.

My father was prone to falls. We were required by Heritage Point administration to hire a sitter full time at $18/hour on top of the facility's monthly fee. We recently relocated him due to the fact that this became too expensive as well as the fact that the staff expected the sitter to do the job we were paying for Heritage Point to do. We often had to request for his room to be cleaned and his laundry went for long periods of time without being done. Very rarely were activities done with the residents and the food was often sub par.

Very disappointed in this facility. The activities are minimal and the residents do not get the special care the staff advertises. Often they are left on their own--especially in the evenings and weekends. The nursing staff are not well qualified--there were too many mistakes in the dispensation of medicines. Clothing and hearing aids lost on a regular basis. The layout is beautiful and it is very clean but that does not make up for the minimal care the residents get.

My mother has been there a year. They purport to be experts on Alzheimer's and Dementia. I do not know one resident living in my mother's building that does not have severe dementia. My mother has fallen 4 times in less than two months. I have had the aides ask me to watch her for them because they are busy doing something else. Not once did myself or several other family members think this was merely an AL home. We all thought it was a memory unit. The price has increased over 20% in one year.

Heritage Point of Tulsa is a nice community that we chose for my dad. The atmosphere is warm, clean, and inviting with a homey feel. The staff is friendly and caring and attentive to his care needs. I haven't yet had a chance to dine there with my dad but he says the food is good. There offer activities that the staff encourages the residents to participate. The landscaping is well-kept and offers outdoor seating for the residents to enjoy the fresh air. We would recommend this community to others.

Heritage Point of Tulsa is a new memory care community. It is a smaller home like setting which is great for staff to Resident ratio. Highly recommend Heritage Point of Tulsa; one of the best memory care set ups in Tulsa- great care.

A Place for Mom has scored Iris Memory Care Tulsa 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
