We toured with Holman Gardens Retirement and the staff were friendly. The facility was older and not as clean compared to others we had visited. They did have a swimming pool so that was nice. They offered 1 meal a day and the pricing was not all inclusive which was something we wanted so we were not getting multiple bills.
I am extraordinarily happy being here at Holman Gardens, I am so much happier being a resident here then at my previous community. One thing that stood out most to me was the value, it was wonderful and you do not have to worry about being nickel and dime. There is not a lot of food but what there is, is really good and I don't have to worry about wasting leftovers. It is a very quiet and peaceful community, I have recommend them to others and will continue to do so.

It's a lovely facility with easy access to both levels. They have two elevators. They have nice raised flower beds, and the pool area is nice. There's a sidewalk that goes all the way around the building that's accessible. The staff have been very accommodating and were very helpful when we moved in. My loved one received a small table that needed assembly. They put that together for her and moved it into her apartment. They've hung things up on the wall for her as well. And they've helped with some noise issues as best they can. I think without Covid going on, there would be more activities. They're starting to open up more and have started up some of the bus trips again back in June.

We are doing very well here it is a very nice place. We have been extremely impressed with all the staff. They are very kind and friendly. We have not taken any meals here we are still cooking on our own. We spend most of our time at our house cleaning it out so by the time we return we are exhausted to do anything else. Once things are settled down we will start to participate in the activities.

Just moved in July 1, 2017 and have been amazed at the services provided. Their maintenance man, [Removed], has been with us many days hanging pictures, setting up T.V., and doing any chore we asked him to do. We felt very lucky to get a carport relatively close to our apartment, and although we are exhausted at all the sorting of stuff to bring, or leave for a garage sale next month, we're very happy to be making a move at this time -- only wish we'd done it 10 years ago.

We moved in just one week ago and have been amazed at the services and cooperation. Have been invited to participate in various activities, but have declined so far -- due to the time consuming tasks of sorting out 63 years worth of "treasures"... most of which have to be sold or given away. Our old home is still full of "stuff" and at 90 it's very tiring. Thank goodness we have a son and daughter who are so helpful. Wish we'd done this 10 years ago.

I had a good tour of Holman Gardens Retirement. The tour guide that we met with was friendly and informative, they took us around the building. It was a good tour, but not what we were looking for.

The staff seem to be on top of things. They are nice and come to help her when she needs it. She is eating dinner there and getting to know more of the residents. She also likes to go on some of the outings and playing cards. They keep the community clean and well maintained.

Holman Gardens is private pay only community, but it is nonprofit so it allows for the cost to stay very low. The price for a 2 bedroom apartment with approximately 1,200 square feet is about $1,700, which includes meals and a garage. The community has a swimming pool to do water aerobics and a hot tub to relax in. They have a lot of activities for the residents like aerobic and movie nights. They community has newer carpeting and for being an older community it is updated and modern. They have a computer, library, exercise room and a crafts room. They have washers and dryer that are a little older but everything works. For everything they offer at the price they offer it is pretty impossible to beat. The residents are helpful and encouraging. They seem to truly be happy here.

A Place for Mom has scored Holman Gardens Retirement 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
