Horrible facility

mother's experienced at Holly Hall Skilled Nursing & Rehab, a lack of kindness if not intentional cruelty. Specifically because of the threat to have my mother sent to a mental institution if I did not hire a personal sitter or have her transferred, and how the social worker publicly humiliated her for her having dementia and having a stuff dog that her sister sent her to substitute for her Emotional Support animal, a small Bichon, during her stay at Holly Hall. And because Holly Hall refused to cover the cost of replacing her partial denture that they lost and instead left her without a since of confidence and unable to properly eat her food leading to further dental problems. And it would seem Holly Hall provided false information to Medicare saying she had maxed out on rehab, as she could walk 75' with assistance but was wheelchair bound. I did not see my mother walk at this facility or since, as she is wheelchair bound after being admitted to Holly Hall.

Overall, a very positive experience with the IL facility. The staff seemed very caring and responsive to our needs. The facility is clean, well kept and welcoming. The activities and wellness programs seemed well thought out and plentiful. We only had one opportunity to eat in the dining room before COVID-19, but our experience there was very good. The recent addition of the CATIE system seems to be a positive step and offers some additional communication tools. I think overall, I was most impressed with the attitude and spirit of the staff; from the security guard at the gate, to the front desk receptionist, to admissions personnel, to maintenance staff, etc., everyone was pleasant, caring and friendly. I also really appreciated the beauty of the grounds and landscaping. Finally, the decorations and themes maintained in the corridors, bulletin boards, and display areas was done with care and thoughtfulness. Well done.

Holly Hall is a great place to live.

My husband and I have lived at Holly Hall for two years. This was the right choice for us. Holly Hall is a small and caring community on 20 acres of lovely and well-maintained grounds. It is conveniently located near the medical center and has easy access to the museum district and downtown. Residents and staff are friendly and helpful. We live in independent living but will have assisted living and healthcare available if our needs change. Holly Hall is quite affordable compared with many other places. I recommend Holly Hall as a nice place to live.

I Took A Tour!!

The community was beautiful. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and invited us to lunch which was great. The food was cooked properly and had a good taste to it. They offered a lot of wonderful activities.

Holly Hall is a beautiful place to live if you don't require any care from the staff. The apartments are affordable and a good size. If you require care, Holly Hall is under staffed and they are under trained. Management doesn't communicate with family members and many times residents in Assisted Living and Health Care are neglected in their daily needs.

A Place for Mom has scored Holly Hall 1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.

Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
