The staff at Atria Maplewood Place were absolutely outstanding. They treated my mother like family, they all knew her by name and knew how to specifically help her with her needs. The room size was just right for her... it wasn't real big, so very similar to a hotel size space.... Read more

My Dad has been at Atria Maplewood Place for almost five years. He receives the best care that I can imagine! The staff is caring and completely dedicated to all the residents there. I can sleep better at night knowing that he is safe and well cared for.

I enjoy living here at Atria Maplewood Place. I have been here for 4 years. At the moment, there are protocols that are in place for the quarantine that are difficult to accept, but I understand that it has to be done for the safety of the residents and they’re doing a great job. [Name removed] the driver is a super guy and goes out of his way to help people. For example, he is only a driver, but if residents need help carrying their groceries or any other items, he does it for us. Give him a raise!

It's a beautiful place. Inside and out. My aunt just moved in here. I can't go in to visit just yet because of the virus, but the staff and residents were so helpful with getting her moved in and comfortable during such a difficult time. She was nervous at first, but now she loves it! Big thank you to the Atria staff and residents for helping our family and making our aunt so happy!

I am enjoying the at home atmosphere. The people make you feel welcome. The management is very helpful at solving problems. The food is salty. Some of the food is not very desirable.

Atria is a very homey comfortable setting to live in. The management is extremely accommodating, the care staff and activities staff are fantastic. Especially during a pandemic, they have all been working so hard during this tough time and keeping us busy and comfortable.

Atria Maplewood Place is a great place to live. I’ve been here 2 years this coming November. I’ve enjoyed my stay for many different reasons. The staff and residents here are amazing to me and it feels more like a giant family living here. I enjoy staying busy and active, at my age it is very important, and the Engage Life Department has provided me with many opportunities to do that.

This community seems like a cruise ship on land. Seems like there is always something to do and they had amazing food. The architecture is beautiful - it use to be a school - and everything was so clean. The staff were all smiling too! Made me feel like staying there with my mom!

Staff is calm, understanding, patient and flexible while caring for mom and others. They know how to get residents to meals or activities while caring for those with little memory. They invite mom all the time, they know how to coax her through singing and music activities. The nurse is helpful getting medications on a good regimen. The whole facility keeps you informed about community issues and they call me about mom's needs. It feels like I finally have a partner in caring for mom best.

Response from Holiday Maplewood Place
May 15, 2019Hi Day, It is our pleasure to serve your mom and all of our residents each day. We take pride in having you and your family part of the Atria family. Thank you for sharing your kind compliments.
The staff are friendly and attentive. The community is nice and comfortable. They offer tons of activities. The food was great. They offer meals such as lobster rolls and scallops. This is a larger community that has everything you could need. They have a nice open courtyard. This is an active community and it feels like you live in a condo. I would recommend this community.

[Removed] was a wonderful hostess... Facility (Community) was well maintained, clean organized and was well received by my sister and me... Lots of amenities, Studio and 1 bedroom were shown, Studio would be the one for [Removed] of this is doable... Smells from the kitchen were fantastic, lunch was great, my sister tried a full lunch menu... Memory care facility was impressive... Courtyard and spacious areas were bountiful and expansive... Staff and residents were very friendly Sister and I were very impressed Cost is probably out of [Removed] range...

I was looking into a community for my sibling, who just needed some supervision. I was told a good deal but it was not enough for the budget of my sibling.

This is a nice community. The staff were good with my loved one during their stay. They were friendly and helpful. The food was good and they offer daily activities. We liked this community, however we felt they would not have been able to handle my loved one's changing needs.

Thanks to the initial Tour with [Removed], I really fell at easy that this was the place I would like my father to live ! I was impressed In every aspect checking all the boxes and more. Furthermore I would like to thank [Removed] who gave my brother, myself and my wife an impromptu tour so they could see for themselves why I was so adamant about my choice. I found the facility to be very clean, cozy, bright, safe, friendly staff and residents. Sincerely [Removed] and Family

We visit Atria in Malden recently. It's a nice building with great common facilities. The residents seemed very content and happy. There were no vacancies when we toured. The occupied room we toured was very small and I'm not sure if others are larger. I feel my father would do well there but he's not ready for the move just yet.

The supporting staff is very friendly and accommodating. My biggest complaint is lack of communication. Activities should be online. When you come in as a new resident there should be a formal meeting of how things work and the schedule of what you are paying for. There should be a followup with residents families on how things are going and what can you improve on. Upper staff needs to be more organized and available, most especially the head nurse. She needs to either be seeing potential residents or working within the building as she always seems to be in a hurry and not available.

September 26, 2016Thanks for reaching out. We gladly post our monthly event calendars on our website and are excited you're interested in joining us! I'll share your comments with our leadership team. If there is more you'd like to tell me about your experience, you can email me at [removed].
The facility is great, but there needs to be more organization at the higher level. Once you are a resident you need to be given information, for example, about how the medication works, who to call if there are issues or questions, when laundry day is and what you need to do about linens. There needs to be a bit more responsiveness to questions as a new resident. The kitchenettes are NOT set up for seniors. Cabinets to high and no counter space. Aids are great and staff is very kind. Could work more with the vision impaired

I think the facility is very clean. Their dining room is fantastic. I think the hours should be a little longer because my Mother likes to get up really early. The workers are very helpful. My Mom requested a cooking club and they are going to try and do that for her. I would like to see her have a little more freedom because my Mother is very independent, although I am glad that they are watching her.

A Place for Mom has scored Holiday Maplewood Place 8.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
