September 13, 2024Thank you for your review! We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Have a great day.
No basic cable or phone available in the rooms, instead you have to rely on their Wi-Fi for phone, internet and TV. Very difficult to get seniors to understand streaming services and the staff is not helpful. We were told there was a selection of meals provided, however, they only provided meals left over to residents that cannot make it to the dining room and that maybe only one choice. The communication with the staff is poor, Tgey are under staffed and the residents are the ones who suffer. I would not recommend they place.

August 15, 2024Thank you for your review. We're thrilled to hear about your experience at our community with our team. If there's anything we can do for you, please don't hesitate to ask. Have a great day.
The facility was fine. Clean and well maintained. The issues we had were due to it being too modern for a person Mom's age, 96. No landline phone or cable tv. Cell phones and streaming to get the channels she used to watch. Very difficult to teach someone that age to stream. I have friends my age that have trouble‚ it really was frustrating for her. Her after surgery, life was hard on her. The activities were okay. Not as many as the facility she came from, but that was independent living. The residents at Holi don't seem to be as interested in activities. The housekeeping was good. The lady we always saw clean Mom's room was wonderful. A very nice and helpful lady who always kept mom's room clean. The people who helped Mom with her daily living were also very kind. Always cheerful and Mom liked the vast majority of them. The move in went smoothly with no problems. The food was probably better than we heard about, but not what I would say is a strong point. The daily specials were often something that older adults would probably not choose if they had a choice. Their secondary menu selection was very poor. I personally would not have been happy with most of the food and meals myself. Where Mom came from, and where we moved her to, had menus that are far superior. All that being said, we are thankful that Holi stepped up and sped the process along when she was discharged from rehab. That's another story. I'll never forgive the insurance company involved. As far as recommending them, my Mom's situation was unique. Finding a place for her with her medical need was tough. A person with an Ostomy issue has a big obstacle in finding a place. Other than that, she was active and really missed her old life doing things. From my perspective, a lot of the residents that we saw were closer to nursing home than assisted living. We would tell people that. We wouldn't just badmouth them.

April 16, 2024Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We're sorry to hear that we weren't the right fit for your mother but are glad to hear she's settling in well at her new community.
I would tell a friend that I was relieved to have my mother somewhere that I trusted she was being cared for. She was grateful to be there. I picked it over others because I would never have to move her again ( regular care, memory care and hospice care).

March 8, 2024Hi Joyce, thank you for taking the time to leave a review for us at HOLI Senior Living. We're happy we could meet your expectations!
I picked this community due to its short distance from family, and was newly opened and very nice. The food is ok, they changed to giving the residents an option instead of 1 thing for everyone. The facility looked clean when you first come in, but the upstairs kitchen was dirty and my dad's room floors were dirty. He made a mess, but I noticed the same food stains on the floor for over a week. The caregivers were kind and seemed to care for the residents. Like everywhere, they were short staffed.

Response from Holi Senior Living
May 1, 2023Thank you so much for the kind words! We are always striving to make improvements. In reading the review, it appears that Meals and Dining is an area for us to improve on. Please reach out to me if you have any suggestions! I am all ears.
I'm not that familiar with what they offer for activities and my loved one says they don't have much to do. My loved one could probably use a little more encouragement to join. But given how awesome they are in all other areas, I choose not to rate activities because I have limited understanding right now. The staff are very supportive. My family member is doing very well. It is bright and clean and the staff is always friendly and engaging.

Our family had an in person tour and we found Holi Senior Living to be very impressive. The lady who took us around the community was very informative and very helpful, so it was an excellent experience.
Really nice place to live, with really good staff and caretakers, and the residents are really nice. The living place is in a nice quiet neighborhood and close to albertson so if your family member want to get you personal items they can. We have a whole lot things coming up in the future, but for now we have bingo every friday and other games. We also have coffee in the morning before breakfast and hot tea, hot cocoa as well. I like living here because it is family-friendly. If you need to talk to staff about settling in they are here to help.

We toured with Holi Senior Living and we did not care for this facility. When we were there walking around, there were no staff or residents that we could see. Our tour was scheduled and they also had no idea that we were even coming so it was disorganized. It took them a while to find a staff member who was able to show us around the place .
The building is beautiful but when you walk in it is extremely sterile. There are not pictures on the walls or anything and it just feels so institutional. The staff did give a good tour though.
A new company took over a month after my loved one moved in. We kept hearing things would get better and they would have more staff, but that did not happen. The food looked very good, but the portions were really big and nothing was tailored to my moms interests. It did not seem like they tried to cater to any individual needs or wants as far as the food goes.

We like how friendly the staff members have been, they are very personable and have worked very hard trying to take care of our love done which can be difficult at times. They are doing a great job trying to make her happy and comfortable. Our father was only there for three weeks then passed away on hospice and their care was phenomenal, and the care they have shown our loved one has just been great. This is not a chain facility, its family owned which makes a big difference, and its just an overall good place.

A Place for Mom has scored Holi Senior Living 8.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
