Please be VERY wary of this community; all is not what it appears at all. There are no cameras at this facility; more cause for due diligence and concern. Be careful and think twice before placing your loved one here. I have pictures of fecal remnants and urine on my mom's toilet seat and in the bowl. It was not cleaned or flushed and I had to clean it up when I got to her room. This happened frequently. I came in to find that my mother had no access to water and the tray was pushed up against her closet door. She was very dehydrated when I got there. Water deprivation is never acceptable. If someone had been checking on her regularly as I was told, this would have been caught and her tray placed in the right area. I would find my mom in clothes that belonged to other residents and her sheets and special adaptive clothing missing. Never reimbursed and I did bring this to management's attention on several occasions. Poor diet offerings. I beg you, be careful.

The gal who was giving us the tour was great. The facility was smaller and older. The rooms were very small too. I was looking for something bigger for my loved one.

[name removed] was so fantastic to assist the family in a last minute placement for my loved one. I was so impressed that April was able to jump through hoops to help my loved one and family during this stressful time. The transition from respite to a regular room was seamless, and my loved one seems to be very happy here. The staff communication with the family has been good and they keep the family updated on our loved one.

They had a vancay and painted, and installed new carpet. They were fabulous about setting up furniture. They were really good with setting up anything that was needed. Overall, everything has just been wonderful.

November 4, 2022Thanks for the 5 stars, Linda! We appreciate it. – Team Enlivant
Living out of state I have never visited Highland Place but from talking to other families we only get positive feedback. On the tour our loved one said she felt so welcomed not only by the staff, but by the residents as well. They went back the next day for a second tour and was even able to have a meal there and apparently she now is loving her three meals a day. She is eating better, and if she does not come down for a meal time like breakfast - the staff will go up to her room to check if everything is okay. That to us was one of the most important things. The care is wonderful, the staff is wonderful, and they go in everybody to make our loved ones bed and straighten up. The reason we gave it 4 out of 5 stars, is since it is a smaller place, they do not have as many amenities as a larger community would. However, our loved one has a lovely apartment and really seems to be settling in quite nicely.

Highland Place has been a God Send for me and my family. We had a bad experience with my mom's former Assisted Living in Orlando so we moved her out here to be closer to me and the difference between the facilities is like night and day. At Highland Place everyone is caring and kind. Her health has improved since she arrived here and the Chef is constantly working with her to make sure she is happy with her food. She is a very picky eater, so he asked me what he can make for her to make sure she is eating and he watches and monitors. We attended an event one night and he walked in the room, and said "your mother is never going to eat this" and ran to the kitchen and made her something else. Everyone I have dealt with is amazing. I can finally sleep at night knowing my mom is in good hands and being taken care of. The Director is [name rempved] and she it hands on and all over it- always knows what is going on with my mom and excellent at communicating with us . Wonderful. I highly recommend Highland Place in Inverness.

We were delighted with our tour and this lovely community. After our loved one's first month in residence I can say that she is still adjusting to the change in life. Having come from her private home, living in a community with caretakers 24x7 is very different for her. The people at Highland Place have been patient and kind during this transition and I'm certain it will all work out. One thing to know is that there is no smoking permitted in the building, anywhere. She has to walk outside to a bench that is a ways from the door to smoke. She is a lifelong smoker who now needs the folks at Highland Place to walk and stay with her. Had I realized this would be the case I would have probably looked at a different residence. We are very appreciative with the extra attention shown to our loved one and the smoking accommodation they have made for her. I would recommend Highland Place to others looking into care options for their folks.

I have no complaints of how things went for my dad and I when we had a tour of this community. The property was clean and they had a lot of great amenities available to all of the residents. I liked that the floor plan was open and it was easy to navigate through the building. Overall it was a great place it was just not the right location for my dad in the end decision.

The only reason we did not choose this community was the cost. It a beautifully well-maintained community. The inside was very comfortable and had a homey feel to it. The staff seemed very friendly. They provided a very knowledgable and comprehensive tour.

Mom has been starting to settle in and I think she is doing much better. They should consider working with oxygen tanks. My mom does not go to the dining room because she cant take her oxygen tank down. When I am there I help take the tank down. Otherwise, the staff bring her meals to her room if needed. There was a little issue with the medications. My mom is enjoying the meals pretty well and they have substitutions available. The girls are all nice and helpful. They assist with her showers, provide housekeeping, and wash the linens. I wish they had a newsletter with the menu and activities for the month. They only have one activity board on each floor and the menu is by the dining room.

The meals and dinning experience have been excellent as well as the wonderful chef who is always making new and and exciting meals for my loved one.The activities are great with many different musical events for the residents .I would suggest that the community get a back up generator to remain on campus for emergencies and safety for the residents since it is a two story building.

The rooms here is nice and open and have a lot to move around. The outside is good they have two different porches that can go outside and sit down. The director, the staff and even the other elderly are really nice. I couldn't have asked for a better place.

My dear loved one needed more help than I could give. Our search for a loving, clean, happy community was found here, at Highland Place. A nicer, cleaner senior living home is what we wanted. Our search ended when we found Highland Place.

I visited all the A.L. facilities in Inverness looking for the "right place" for my 88 y/o mother. Initial impression was very important. Friendly and welcoming, caring skilled staff, cleanliness, onsite medical and restaurant style dining with a great variety were a must. Highland Place has it all and made my decision easy. Convenience, care, and peace of mind, Highland Place has it all! It is by far the very best choice for you and your loved one(s).

A Place for Mom has scored Highland Place 6.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
