We really like HeartHomes. [name removed] is well taken care of. Staff really know the patients. Small facility. Names, quirks, likes and dislikes. Family members welcome. The place is quiet and unrushed. For my introvert husband this great. The place doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but I'll take a caring community any day. As far as the activities go, I think designing programs for such a diverse group would be very difficult. There's the age range to consider too. If you have ideas, please share.... Read more

Made the right choice for Mom

My Mom called HeartHomes home for the 6 months prior to her passing. She was extremely happy there and we were very impressed with the care and attention she received. The staff went out of their way to accommodate her needs -- from meals, medication, oxygen to assisting with appointments. Anytime the staff felt like there was a concern with my Mom, they notified me immediately, no matter the time. My siblings and I felt the staff treated my mom like their mother/grandmother, which gave us relief knowing the care she was receiving.

Very friendly staff and a very comfortable homey atmosphere

Overall we have been very pleased with HeartHomes, right when we came to visit this community we felt very comfortable. It may not be the newest community with the biggest amenities but it feels very comfortable, it feels like a home. We like that it has a small amount of residents so all the staff know them all. The location is really good and they have two really nice front porches that our loved one likes to sit outside at. They get to plant vegetables in the spring, and they have bingo. Our loved one is really well taken care of and we would definitely recommend this community to other families.

Family friendly place but lacks a lot of amenities

We like that it is a smaller community, and the care takers are attentive. They also at times do seem short staffed, and they are not able to offer services because of the pandemic. It is frustrating because they are not able to bring doctors in regularly give the residents hair cuts or get them to their dentist appointments

Heart Homes At Bay Ridge

The staff is very attentive and kind. My mother likes the food and her room much more than her previous community. We can't say enough good things! They have been very good with managing her medications and have done a great job managing the situation with the Covid-19 pandemic. The care giving staff is great about handling all the residents, even those with higher levels of care. The community itself is very clean and the cleaning staff is very attentive to our requests. They have a lot of activities as well for the residents to participate in. The building itself is very bright and cheerful as well. We have no complaints. The manager has been wonderful as well and helped me when I really need. The billing is great and we have had no issues and the pharmacy at the community has been good as well. I cannot say enough about the attentiveness of the staff and have witnessed them be so friendly and good with the residents and it never fails to make us happy.

Be aware.

I was very pleased with the the care my mother received until the last time she was there for Respite care. When I picked her up they told me that she had been a little off that week. I took her home only to have her admitted to the hospital two days later.. The doctor asked me when my mother had suffered her stroke and that it had not happened in the ladies 48 hours. If they had noticed a change in her condition, a phone call should have been made. My mother has since passed away.

The facility was very clean and the staff very friendly. I like that it is a smaller facility with a total of 16 residence. I am looking for a short term respite care and am hopeful that there will be a bed available when I need a place for my mother.

So far a five

This community does not have the feel of a hotel or institution. I am able to stop by anytime to visit. I get a comforting feeling from this community. The staff are nice, caring, attentive, responsive and understand the families feelings. This is a very nice community and they do offer some nice activities. We are happy with the move and I would recommend taking a look at this community.

Not the right price!

I never got the opportunity to tour this facility but they were very pleasant on the phone. Unfortunately, the rate was higher than my mother could afford.

Smaller Community

My tour of this facility went well. This is a smaller community compared to others. The facility is an older building and the rooms are small. It just wasn't the place for my mother. It is a nice looking community. From what I saw everything is pretty well maintained. The staff was nice and friendly. They showed me all around the community. It is nice community, but not the right place for my mother.

very happy

We are very happy with HeartHbomes at Bay Ridge. She seems to be very happy. We had placed her in a facility that she wasn't happy with previously. She says the staff here are so nice to her. Every time we go and visit she is very engaged. There were workers and residents sitting on the front one time when I dropped her off after taking her out. They were very personal and asked how her visit was. So far so good at this facility.

A nice small assisted living facility

I give the overall rating of this property 4 stars. I rate the Cleanliness 4 stars, I rate the Friendliness 5 stars since they were really friendly, I rate the value 4 stars, I rate the Care Services 4 stars. I can't rate the activities because I have not witnessed the activities, I don't know much about it. This is a nice small assisted living facility. My first impression was that I liked that it only had one level. There were no stairs or elevators.

I could not of asked for a better place for my Mom to have spent the last years of her life. The staff was kind and compassionate and truly cared about her. The home was always clean and there was never a day that I visited her that caused me any concern. Like anyone I hated having to place my Mom in a home but went it became apparent we could not provide the care she needed Heart Homes was a Godsend. I highly recommend Heart Homes if you are looking for somewhere for a parent that will make you at ease with the care provided this place is the best!

They need more staff.

It's very clean, and the staff is pretty friendly. They have things going on but they don't always do them. They need to be more staffed, I was paying for level three care, and I wasn't really getting the help, they weren't doing what they were supposed to be doing. The staffing ratio of one person to 14-15 residents, is not enough I feel.

For the price not great

I don't think for $4,500 a month my mother is getting the proper care. They over medicate her so they won't have to deal with her and she just sleeps all day. The staff is helpful and nice, though. But I suppose there are worse places she could be. The decision to put my mother there was made too hastily, and if I had any say in the matter she would not be there now. I realize she needs to be in a home. Just not this one.
