We absolutely love it there.....they are fabulous!!! Although mom can barely talk anymore she is able to get her needs met. They are very patient with her and pay close attention to her body cues she uses to express her needs and wants. She loves hugs and gives and gets them regularly. I eat lunch with mom several times a month. The food is good and reminds me of home cooking. Nothing fancy, but good tasting, and nutritious foods given in healthy portions. (where we had her previously she was getting far too much pasta and too large of portions and was gaining a lot of weight). There is a variety of activities, from games, to crafts, movies, sing-a-longs, parties, trying new foods etc. Mom cant participate in as much but she is always welcome to be in the room and likes being around the others even if she can't do the activity. We are thrilled that we chose Haven for mom. She is thriving here. Although she is in advanced stages of Alzheimers, and has difficulty communicating, they have been very patient and caring with her. The place is always clean, the tables are always set with table cloths and flowers. They have on premises hair salon and even have a foot care and a doctor who comes there so as not to have to come take her for appointments. I visit regularly and even volunteer there. Each time I come they place is spotless, smells fresh and I am greeted warmly by the staff.

There are more staff working there that love their jobs...they're passionate and patient. We chose this facility because the entire facility is all memory care with security, the cost and size of room.

I was going to when I got home that the place is always beautiful and clean. Dining tables are set with flowers and placemats or tablecloths. Food is excellent home cooking style and staff is very friendly and caring.The entire facility is memory care. It was nice and clean and friendly, and the costs were in the mid range compared to others in the area.

What our family likes most about the Haven Memory Care on Halcyon community is the great caregiving staff. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend the community to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.

We've been very happy with the facility. It doesn't look wonderful outside right now (windows/roof/fence) because of a tornado that went through the area (currently being fixed), but nothing on the inside reflects the damage. The maintenance guy has been great, too. The staff is so incredibly nice, always smiling and checking on folks whenever I'm there. I do wish they had more nurses, some work too many shifts at times, but I know there's a shortage everywhere. They always have beautiful, fresh flowers on the tables and in the lobby.

They have been really great. The staff really get to know the residents. It is a smaller facility so they get a lot of personalized attention. They tell you when you move your parent in that they will check on them every hour. I am there sometimes for a few hours visiting and people do check once an hour if not more which is great. I would certainly recommend Haven Memory Care to those looking for their loved ones.

They provide no assistance in their assisted living. Don't put anyone you care about there. I had my mom signed up for about a month and she ended up staying a little over a week. She had a fall and because of that she had to go to the hospital. I do think that incident could’ve been 100% prevented by the community. I put her there because I was going out of town for my own care. They called my sister when it happened, I got notified about an hour after that. They did give me the remainder of my money back and I am satisfied with the amount. But our family never got an apology or calls to see how she was doing. It started the first day. I decided to move her in two days before I left town to make sure she was settled. I came back the next day and she was completely bleary eyed. I asked her what was wrong and she replied that she couldn’t turn her TV off all night. They never gave her the remote and only one person came to check on her throughout the night. So, she was stuck with a blaring TV that she couldn’t shut off. This was a satellite TV, so it required two remotes. One to change the channels and the other for volume and powering on and off. She had the channel one, but they never gave her the one that she really needed - even after they promised and we asked for hours. It never happened. They also never gave her a call button, the one I did see was only about 3 or 4 feet long and wouldn’t reach the recliner we brought in for her. Other places usually tie something to it just to make it a bit longer, but they never did that either. They promise you the moon when you sign up. They told us that the nurses station was upstairs and I explained that my mom can’t go upstairs alone. They replied that they’d bring her medicine downstairs for her when she needs it. The day she fell, she used her wheelchair to go up in the elevator to get her medicine because no one was around to help or check on her. She’s not used to being in a wheelchair, she uses a walker. They also told us they would be there to help her with getting in and out of the wheelchair, but they were not. She came back downstairs from the nurses station and waited for what she said felt like an hour. After waiting for so long, she decided to get herself out of the wheelchair and fell. And because there was no call button that she could reach, she laid there for what she said felt like another hour. Eventually they found her and she was then sent to the hospital. Her mobility was already limited before, and now with serious a spinal injury, her mobility will be even more affected.

The staff are very caring and personable. They are extremely receptive to special family needs and things for your parents. The place is very clean. The outdoor space is probably the best of any of the facilities we looked at. They have gardens for the residents to participate in in the summertime, and they grow a lot of vegetables and flowers out there, which is a neat thing to see. The food is good overall. They do serve a lot of chicken, but other than that, the meals are all well prepared and well rounded, and I agree with the food.

It is a newer up to date community, and we like how the residents have room to gather and mingle with each other, they aren't confined to a small space. The residents are very lively, and constantly engaging with each other. We are so confident that our loved one is in a safe and caring community. The manager, and all of the staff from top to bottom are amazing, you can tell this is more than just a job to them. They have continued to be very accommodating and responsive to any issues we have, we are very pleased.

I found the staff to attentive the first couple of weeks and activities for the dementia residents were there. After the first couple of weeks, the truth came out. There were no activities at the facility for weeks at a time. CNAs complained openly about the residents. Poor nursing leadership. Short staffed and the LPNs and CNAs openly complained about having too much to do. Staff complained openly about their pay. I was excited that the facility was potentially just what I was looking for but soon found that it was not any different from the rest of the facilities that had underpaid and overworked staff. There were nights when there was only 1 LPN on the entire first floor. Meds were not always delivered appropriately. Finance office is totally disorganized - in the 3 months I was there my bill was never correct.

They are treating me well here at Elmcroft of Halcyon. It is very easy to communicate with Miss [Removed]. She is very. The staff members are very friendly and responsive to any questions or concerns that I have. It is a warm and homey place. I don't have a lot in common with a lot of the residents here. There are only seven men to socialize with that come into the dining room. Most of the residents here need more assistance than I do. I am recuperating, and once my driving privileges are restored it will be better. The transportation is on a schedule. It's on their schedule. They do provide activities for the residents to engage in, I don't really participate in the ones that they offer. The food is very good and they offer a good variety of choices. But after the meals there is not a lot of camaraderie here, they don't hang out in the common area. There is an outdoor area that I can go outside and get some fresh air. I would recommend this community to others.

I toured this community.The staff were nice and answered my questions for the care that is offered. They have a lot of different price ranges that we did not want. We did not see a menu, but the community is very clean. It is a two lever community that we did not want. We would recommend that families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

I had a pleasant experience with this community, all of the staff where extra friendly and made sure to give my father and I a warm welcome. The property was very well maintained with lots of great features and amenities that we enjoyed. This just ended up not being the right fit for my father but overall everything was great during our visit.

My tour of the Elmcroft of Halcyon went well. The place was very nice and clean, it was similar to the one that I actually chose. There was nothing wrong with the place, just not what we were looking for at the moment.

The main thing that we went to Elmcroft of Halcyon for was for mom to have care 24 hours a day. She falls a lot and needs a lot of special attention. They have definitely met our expectations. They are always there and take great care of her. There was one minor incident where they came in super early in the morning to get her laundry and then ended up mixing her clothes with another residents, which caused her some confusion, but that is the only issue we have had and it was a very minor one.

It was much more expensive and very large compared to where we chose. Everyone had to come to a common dining room. We were told they didn't have care steps, if she couldn't dress herself and do her baths then this wasn't the place for her, but I heard differently later. It was like a country club with white linen table cloths, with a very formal look. For someone who does not have dementia, it would have been really nice.
