It is an independent living facility. They only offer lunch but it is a large meal with soup and salad and dessert. My father ate half of it and always brought half back to his place. The meal however is the same for all . There is no selection or choices. The staff are very nice people and accommodating. Activities seem to be more geared for women. The Condos are very nice but when something breaks it takes them a while to repair it. Overall very good experience.... Read more

I'd say keep looking around. Management is terrible, lives on-site but doesn't want to bother with residents. Little to no activities or outings as advertised. Food is a set meal, no options. They do not serve healthy meals or alternatives. Staff goes into units unauthorized and removes things. Cleaning staff is overworked but friendly. The main manager needs to be fired, she does nothing but sit around and run staff on overload. Also, she hires family and let's them live in units. Numerous people left before mom did to order facilities. Thus not a fan.

My mom and dad experienced happiness at Garden Manor Village in their remaining years and received compassion from the staff and management when they passed. They spoke highly of the living conditions and entertainment . Now, my sister in law is living there and loves it. Those that say there are no longer shopping trips and games , have to realize that Covid had a lot to do with cancellations. I would highly recommend living in Garden Manor Village for yourself and for love ones.

Our parents haven't used the meals and dining service and I do not think they have activities. They've been waiting for a storm door. I emailed [name removed] last Tue. She was going to check with maintenance guy but hasn't gotten back to me. We would recommend this community to other families based on the experience we have had so far.

The residents tend to be in cliques. Meals attempts at quality, but no options for substitute such as vegetarian. Activities are very limited, monthly book mobile visits, Monday early riser breakfast, snack. There is little explanation of mealtime and activities. The assistant manager is more of a peoples person it seems. Amateur weekly calendar distributed, assigned seating without explanation and not open to change. The facility is in a great location near Walmart, food lion, gas, restaurants, etc.

The people at Garden Manor Village are wonderful, caring, considerate, and compassionate. My parents lived in AZ, I was trying to get them relocated here in SC since early 2022 near me so I could help with their care. My father's health unfortunately declined quickly and he passed this past June. My mom was than in AZ by herself and had sustained a very bad injury to her foot in September that left her in and out of hospital and rehab centers from September to December in AZ. The distance was needless to say a struggle in helping my mom. I was blessed to have had connected with [name removed] from a place for mom early in 2022. she was literally an angel helping, guiding me, checking in on me, listening to my concerns/worries and just being there for me thru the many months of up and downs until I could finally get my mom here at Garden Manor. I had initially started looking at GM for both my parents, but it is just my mom now. Throughout those many months GM was very understanding of my situation with my mom's health and her being out of state and in the hospital. It was hard to commit to GM when my mom's health was changing day to day. They were so compassionate of our situation, they were never rude or pushy with me in making a commitment. GM was so understanding and once my mom was released from rehab and able to fly and get here GM did everything they could to get the apartment reserved for my mom completed so she could move in... it had been under-construction. Despite the holidays and the short notice they got it ready and I was able to get my mom relocated in her own safe space at GM which she needed as she still has a lot of recovery left to do with her injured foot. She cannot go up and down steps just yet. My mom was completely uplifted from the rehab and moved across the country to a new state and without her husband of 53 years. She has been at GM since beginning of December and is thriving, making friends and doing well. This was a huge transition for her especially with her injury. Again I am so grateful [name removed] referred me to GM, there were several other referrals but none compared to the staff at GM. I lost my dad which was a huge loss for me. I was thrown in a situation of caring/looking out for my mom who was so very sad/depressed, so needless to say I had a lot of emotions and worries to deal with while caring for my own family and working full time. But again I am so thankful to [name removed] and GM staff for their support along the way. My mom is doing great and the transition from AZ to SC has been great experience for her and for me so far.

Actually I have recommended it to two people already. Basically, because of the price. The maintenance is not up to par. When she moved in the microwave did not have a dish. It was never replaced. At one point they had a fire and it burned the microwave and the cabinet above. They removed the microwave took the doors off the cabinet and never put anything back in the hole where the microwave was.

The residents each have their own individual cottages and Garden Manor is the cheapest community in the area. However they could work to improve their activities. All they really do is take the residents out shopping once a week and play bingo once a week, other than that there really isn't anything else.

The living space is larger, but you have to walk outside to get to the dining room. It didn't seem they had many activities for the residents. I was looking for more interior space to socialize with other residents.
I moved here on [date removed] of this year. Unfortunately with Covid 19 out there it is difficult to do a comprehensive review. I am comfortable in my unit, I am fortunate that it is an end unit so I have an extra window. My unit is bright and sunny. My bathroom has a step in shower with grab bars. My bedroom has french doors that lead out to a small slab patio. There is a small storage closet off the patio. Very hand for storing Christmas and other boxes. The clubhouse or dining room is closed due to Covid so they are delivering noon meals directly to us. Part of the benefit of a Dining hall is the opportunity for camaraderie. They have activities such as Bingo and a Bible Study group. Hopefully I will be able to participate in these activities once Covid is gone. All utilities are provided including cable TV . My overall thoughts are positive and I am glad I am here

[Name removed] was our tour advisor. She was excellent . We viewed this property as well as Arbor Landing. For [name removed], my mother-in-law's needs, Garden Manor Village was the best fit. We visited the Clubhouse that had nice homey feel. In touring the apartments, though small, they were laid out very nice. The only negative was the back porch with the exposed A/C units. Of the three units I observed 759 & the unit with bar was my preference but they were a little further walking distance to the clubhouse but not a real negative. My husband & his brother will be discussing this community in [removed] this coming week.

Well run with connected cottages and a friendly feeling. A waiting list for a one bedroom but the costs were not prohibitive for a two bedroom. Only one large meal served-lunch- but stoves are in units. Full sized washer and dryer included in each cottage.

I have just moved in so have not experienced all aspects yet. Everyone is very friendly. My only complaint is that there is a silver fish infestation in my apartment that has yet to be addressed thoroughly. All the meals have been delicious.

It was nice...wasn't crazy about the area where it is though. But it may be ok. I'm also considering buying something for her but she's getting alittle overwhelmed right now. But I'll keep in touch as we go. Thank u Tamra....

A Place for Mom has scored Garden Manor Village 8.6 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
