About the facility Gap View Personal Care Home, Inc

Morning Star Manor offers professional assisted living in Pen Argyle, Pennsylvania. This suburb of Allentown is quaint and familiar. However, there’s more to this area than rolling green hills and pleasant main streets. Most people are familiar with Pen Argyle as the last town they visit before embarking on the famous Appalachian Trail.

Morning Star Manor is housed within a historic small-town hospital, which was founded in 1933. The assisted living home opened in the same building in 1993 and has been providing seniors and their families with excellent care ever since. Seniors live in private and semi-private rooms, as well as multiple indoor and outdoor community areas.

The staff functions under a philosophy of freedom and dignity. Residents receive the care they need to retain as much freedom and dignity as possible. Staff is on-site 24/7, and the building is outfitted with technology to maximize the safety of all the residents, including hallway sensors, non-stick floors, and handrails. Health professionals make regular, scheduled visits, and the staff is more than happy to help residents stay on top of their health needs. All seniors receive assistance with those everyday tasks that may be increasingly difficult, such as grooming, bathing, and dressing.

Inadequate

We moved our Mother in Gap View. Very subpar. Hardly any activities. The furniture is old and dirty looking. The staff are hard to find. Usually outside smoking. The administrator is never there. It takes several days for a return call. No TVs in the residents rooms We will be moving mom to another place.

Moving in!

Can’t wait to move my mom in! The place looks amazing and so homey. The woman who did my tour was so sweet and amazing. Love the little town and how all the residents are happy. The staff was so caring and the food smelled so good they were making there

Old Building

I toured this building a few weeks ago because my father needs more assistance. The front of the building look very old and needed some updating. The inside of the building you can tell that they remodeled it looks clean. The rooms were extremely small with no private bathrooms. The floors in the rooms just look dirty and aged. The staff was friendly the person who did the tour with me was very friendly and very informative. The building is extremely old and there's no elevator or any other way for someone who had had issues walking could not get upstairs. The upstairs was very old and institutional looking. They just don't have anything to really offer like other Personal Care homes have offer. I decide to move my father into another personal care home in the area.

Not appealing

Toured the building. The downstairs updated. Staff was friendly. The upstairs was dirty and it had a strong urine odor. The person who toured me was very apolgenic. I could not get out of there fast enough.
