Finnish American Village

The staff at Finnish American Village is top notch. They truly care about the residents. The nursing staff is always on top of items. I couldn't have found a more loving assisted living facility. Thank you Place For Mom for the recommendation.

I found the Finnish American Village to be clean and inviting. Move in was smooth. My mother-in-law enjoyed the outings and social activities.

Overall we've had a good experience with assisted living at Finnish American Village. It fits my husband's needs, and the food is exceptional. I would recommend it to other families.

I find the facility to be quant and the staff caring. While, the 'personal emergency buttons' have not been reliable in our experience, they have said they are ordering new ones. They do wake the residents very early if they need help dressing, so just be aware if you are someone who likes to sleep in, that probably won't happen. They try to do a nice outing once a week - a meal at a restaurant, a picnic at a park, Lion Country Safari, etc. as well as outings to retailers and the grocery store. I would recommend Finnish American Village to anyone who needs to have Assisted Living Care. The nurses are very caring, the food is great, and the activities are plenty.

Finnish American Village does an extremely good job. They have a nursing side as well as assisted living side, so if your relative doesn't need help getting dressed or taking baths, they have the ability to go to the assisted sided. They have a lot of activities - arts and crafts, bingo, church, lots of varied and fun things. They go out twice a week to the grocery store as well as a fun outing, to the mall or to the zoo for instance. The residents have a say and get to vote on what they want to do. There's a cleaning service that cleans the apartment, which is included in the rent. It's an older place, but it's really nice.

We chose Finnish American village because it felt very homey and the quality of care seemed to be good. The room sizes could be a little bigger if you have to share, but for 1 person they are just fine. I think it would be helpful for families to get pamphlets of the do's and don'ts to help with the transition period. I would definitely recommend them to others looking.

My Mom was in the rehab two years ago. We had to make a quick decision for a rehab facility after my mom was discharged from the hospital. Finnish American isn't a fancy village, but it's very clean, and the staff are very caring. My brother and I were very happy with this facility. A perfect example of don't judge a book by its cover. The staff were very responsive to our needs and concerns.

We chose Finnish American Village because of the friendly, family environment and it is a smaller facility so it is not so overwhelming. The room sizes are fine for what she needs. The value for the money here is great. The people overly friendly and accommodating and when you walk in everyone you see is smiling. I would recommend to others looking, it is a home away from home.

My mom absolutely loves it at Finnish American Village and we have been happy with our experience. We chose this facility because she had visited here before and she knows someone here who is part of the family. She also had a good idea of what the staff would be like. It is in a convenient location for our family. I would recommend them to others looking.

My mom has been at Finnish American Village for about a year and half now. She originally went in due to being close to her 90's and needing more socialization than she was her condo. It's been the BEST place possible for her, before COVID lockdowns and since. The staff truly does have a heart and always seems to do that something "little extra" to keep her being well taken care of and engaged. As with most places, there's fewer activities during COVID, but they've managed to be creative and come up with ways to keep folks engaged. I couldn't think of a better place for her to be at! Clean, friendly, great meals, and feeling cared for. For mom, and her daughters (who both live many states away) it's been as could as it could be.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Finnish-American Village. My mother has been there for a year now, and I could not have picked a more loving, caring, professional, clean place for her to live. From [name removed], the sales and marketing director; to the head nurse [name removed] and everyone in between, the staff truly cares about each and every patient. Finnish-American Village is very clean, and the food is delicious. There is a beautiful outdoor area for the residents to enjoy, as well as several welcoming common areas. I feel truly blessed that we found Finnish-American Village for my mother.

My mom was at Finnish American Village (FAV) for 5 months and she loved it there. The best way I can describe FAV is people who work there have "heart". I saw the care they took with residents. I paid attention when my mom first moved in because I wanted to be sure she was treated well. My mom was happier at FAV than she was in her apartment before moving there. At FAV aids and nurses stopped in her room when they were walking by just to say hi. Whenever I needed to call someone there I was able to reach them. Thank you for making my mom feel loved and at home.

My mom recently went into Assisted Living part of FARH. The staff has been helpful and there’s follow through on questions/issues. Staff seems like many of them have been there for a long time and are knowledgeable and friendly. Mom’s room is clean and the food is great. There are activities to keep her busy when she chooses to participate. Overall,, it’s been a great move though still difficult in moving from her home of 30 years to assisted living.

Community is not updated and pretty ragged, but staff has low turnover and residents appear very happy. Sales director was not overly enthusiastic or helpful, but nice.

It is one big family at the AFV. You are treated very well and everyone is nice and caring. It is clean and the food is great!

The staff at this community was very kind and friendly. My tour guide was informative, and answered all my questions. Everyone was very nice and cheerful. You could tell they really care about their residents. It felt like a little family community. I got a good feeling at this community. The only issue was the location. It was to far for my family to travel.

I like the level of attentiveness, there are always a lot of people keeping their eye out for the residents. The food there is wonderful, really good. He liked the feel of the place, and picked this out of all the ones we looked at. I am pretty happy with them.
