At High Point Germantown South, my mother was placed into Covid isolation, without symptoms, on [date removed]. She had a long-standing untreated UTI made much worse when almost no one came in to bring her food, water, or medications. She was bedridden after three days from leg pain. My sisters and I were not allowed by the healthcare director to visit or even talk to her on the phone but assured daily by staff she was up and about and doing well. In the ER on [date removed], my mother thought she would die from the dehydration and the leg pain and she was hospitalized for this. From this ordeal, she basically lost the ability to walk.

My mother was at Ellen’s for 2 weeks before she passed. The care was subpar, very inattentive staff. She was left on the toilet for an hour, we had to ask for food trays, water, a pack of crackers was on the floor the entire time spent there. The hospice staff was great. Would I recommend? If you can sit with your loved one 24/7 and over see the care and ask for what you need, then yes. If your loved one is mobile and alert with minimal health problems, then yes. I would not recommend for an ill person that needs help with day to day care.

Apparently a lot of changes in this facility since no longer privately owned .. perhaps if patient is advanced memory care and the location is convenient for family I would say it could be considered, otherwise social aspects are terribly lacking for cognitive individuals and I would not recommend.

The 1st shift staff and manger are very good, but the rest are questionable. My mother ended up with a broke hip and no one knew when it happened. She is now in hospice care what little there is. She will die soon. Was it their fault we can't say. It is tough. There is definitely room for improvement has it looks great on the surface

My mother was there for approximately 6 years. Most of the years management and staff were excellent...I never had to worry about my mom being taken care of. Clean place ..caring staff..good food...great attitude and atmosphere. Then ABOUT a year or so they hired a women don't know if she is a nurse or cna....my mom did not like her at all...my mom would not tell me why...and I have to watch what I say so I don't get in any legal trouble...99 percent of the staff there is awesome and caring...but because of the ONE bad apple that the management seems to defend....I would be afraid to put my loved on in there because of her. And I am speaking of the sylvan circle location. I would put a camera in the room to be safe...I wish I would have done that ...but by the time I knew I could...my mom had passed. Let me be clear my mom had 5 awesome years there till the bad apple showed up...the rest of the staff is awesome....

I had to find a place that gave end-to-life care for my 90 year old aunt who had many cognitive disabilities. She needed a small place that could provide everything as she couldn’t be moved again. Ellen’s Home was perfect!!! It truly has a homey feeling, nice sized rooms, and a comfortable setting. However, it was the care she received and the communication I received that really stood out!! Every care giver formed a special bond with my aunt and they all treated her caringly. In the end, hospice was brought in and Ellen’s Home took care of everything. I am grateful to Rllens Home for making the last 3 years of my aunts life comfortable, happy, and safe!!!

This community was nice but I just did not get the feeling that this was the place for my loved one when I walked in.
We toured this community and the tour was very good. They answered all of our questions and were very informative. They were very accommodating and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We did not feel rushed at all and they took their time with our family.
Nice facility and people, but they didnt have room for Mom at this time. Also, they didnt know I was coming for the appt.

My tour of this community was pretty nice. Everything went well, and the experience was a nice one. The community looked good. From what I saw everything appeared to be well maintained. My tour went well, but this was not the right fit for my parents.

This was a wonderful place and the director was super. The only reason we didnt choose here was because our need was now and there was a waiting list

It's a lot of money but it's worth it to spend. She's being taken care of 24/7 and I think that she's very well placed. They have more staff and there's more structured activity. I would recommend it to anybody, they kind of view the home as the residents home, not as a place that they work at so they try to find out thigns about the residents like what they were interested in before they were stricken by Alzheimer's or dementia. My mother liked to sew so they went and got something like a child's sewing kit to keep her mind going and they cook and they do everything they are able to do at their stage of the disease. The staff all has a sense of humor, they are very lighthearted, they know how to deal with people with advancing disease and they know that residents aren't really in control of what they do or say so they're very well equipped.
