The staff is great! There might be a couple of people having a bad day on certain days, but overall very good. Housekeeping is great. I wish they would provide toilet paper and tissues so I did not have to run to the store and keep track. Communication with the families is good. Move in was easy with a dolly and back door provided. I cannot comment directly on the meals because I have not eaten there myself, she seems to like some of them. Others not so much. Any improvement? Most has been good for me, but my mom feels like they are not telling me everything they tell her, but she gets confused. Maybe a more formal scheduled meeting every month or every other month. I would definitely recommend this facility.

My dad has settled in to his new home really well and I attribute that to the care and attention he has received. For me it has been a little more trying. Primarily because the communication system doesn't always provide me with timely information. I'm good at asking questions but sometimes it's hard to know what or who to ask. I would recommend to friends and neighbors.

Most everyone has had experiences where the sales presentation is wonderful, but the real day to day does not mirror the presentation. I would say that Discovery Virginia Beach has a wonderful staff that sincerely care about the residents. What they say is not a pitch, but truly is how they feel and treat the residents. I have found that true from sales to maintenance, to staff I don't know, but who are continually friendly and helpful. Every commitment has been followed through. with genuine kindness. I'm not easy to impress, however, the staff at Discovery has impressed me...especially [name removed] and [name removed] in physical therapy.

Atria Virginia Beach gets all 5 stars. The residents here seem happy and the facility was just the right size for us (not too large).

Our family has had a very good experience so far, and it has exceeded our expectations. The activities are limited being on the memory care side but they are still good. It is smaller which we like, the residents have their own dining room and there is only room for 20 residents - this allows it to be more intimate. Our loved ones apartment is just the right size for her and we like how there is a hair salon there. We would recommend this community to other families.

It has been a really good successful hit having our loved one here, they really understand our loved ones needs and level of comfort. They have a concierge desk that still has families and visitors check in and out and have their temperature taking, their hours are 8AM to 8PM so it gives the residents and families plenty of time to ask questions during the days or ask for assistance which is really helpful. They do not want residents just sitting in their rooms they want them out and about engaging with the community. They have a lot of different and appropriate activities and a lot of the activities do not require advanced notice or sign-ups so it takes the pressure off our loved one having to sign up and then deciding to not go. They provide meals which has been great - our loved one desperately needed to gain weight and she has been. The value for the money is absolutely incredible. We really like the fact that if our loved one starts to need additional care and assistance she does not have to move out of her room, she can stay there and receive the required services. The only time she would need to move would be for memory care.

Getting mom's meds sorted in the move has been a bit of a hassle, and I think the nurses could be a bit more helpful than they have been. Mom loves it there and is very happy with her choice. She particularly comments on how friendly everyone on staff is.

I've been very happy with them across the board. So has my mother. Everyone we've dealt with, both before we moved her in and since then, has been helpful and friendly. My mom says that everyone there has been really great to her. She didn't want to go at first, but I've been pleasantly surprised how happy she has been. The facility is really nice, and there's a nice little outdoor area where they can sit. It's a covered space, so you can still go out if it's raining. Really the only area for improvement would be the meals. She would just like to see more vegetables.

The staff here have great communication, they are very informative and have no issues answering our questions. The billing is very straight forward, everything is very clear and upfront. Our loved one is very happy with the food and the layout of the building. She has a spacious one bedroom apartment, and has house keeping come to help with the laundry. There are also a ton of activities for the residents to do.

We chose Atria Virginia Beach because of the overall package, the view from the apartment, and the price. The food is very institutional, it feels like cafeteria food so they could definitely improve on the quality of the meals. The staff really seem to care and they get involved. They have really impressed me and are always making sure she gets what she needs. Overall I would recommend to others

She really likes her apartment and the fact that she is able to have her car. She is meeting a lot of people as well. Her one complaint is the food, she says that she and the others are not happy with that at all and she has been skipping a lot of the meals. I do also think they could have some better activities provided. Overalls he is happy and I would recommend them to other families looking.
