Both the staff and residents are top notch. This place may not have all the, what I call fluffy stuff (theater room…but there is one across the street; balcony… but there is a very nice lake side view patio…and ducks…and birds … and a very nice portico with shade and comfortable seating; no pool… but there is a staffed fitness center and program; and more than enough planned activities and outings). I like too, that this foundation is based on Christian beliefs and there is also a pastor on duty. Can’t go wrong with this place to call home if you like to have friends and plenty of activities to keep busy/challenged.... Read more

We picked this community because of the location, and avalability. People are nice, they seem to be in a transition period, new activities person, executive director, pastor, etc, so lots changing. I would recommend to others.

I have lived in an independent living apartment here for almost 3 years. I'm very happy here. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are lots of activities to keep me busy. The meals are great. A near by lake adds beauty to the outdoors.

I have been living here for 4 1/2 years and would not want to live anywhere else. The staff will always bend over backwards to assist the residents any way they can.

Varied menu plus extensive alternate menu to choose from. Fun exercise classes and variety of exercise equipment. Appreciate the underground parking (especially in winter) and laundry in my apartment.

Copper Shores Village is advertised to be more than it is. The activities are poor, the food is horrible, and there is a problems with bullying among the residents. Front desk staff is rarely friendly, and there is a large turnover of staff. The environment isn't too friendly. We expected my mom to be active and having fun there, but she hated it. You get charged a approx $175 more to be on the west side of the hallway, so you can look out the window AT THE LAKE. Totally ridiculous. There is also a problem with cleanliness issues in the dining area. I reported them to the Health Department before moving my mother out of there. I was unable to get into the building on a Friday night after hours, when my mother was having a medical emergency. All calls made to the numbers provided, went directly to voicemail. I do not recommend Copper Shores Village AT ALL. Take your loved one somewhere else.

This community did not work for us because the rooms size was not what we were looking for we just wanted something with more space. The tour was good and they gave me all the info I needed.
Some of the meals that they serve are hard for residents to chew in memory care. When I go over there the gal at the front desk is not very approachable, she can be cold and rude and she is the first person you see when you come into the building. When I try to get in on weekends sometimes I have to wait 30 minutes to get someone to let you in. Overall I would still recommend.

We toured The Shores at Pleasant Hill. The person that we met with was very nice, but the facility itself was multiple levels with elevators. Also, everything was digital so I think that would have been harder with the older population.
Having my loved ones here has been very good. My loved one actually gained some strength after only being here for 2 months. I have no major complaints with them. The marketing person there, [Removed], is extremely responsive while we first visited. She went out of her way to be cheerful and welcoming. She really related well to my loved ones even though she herself may be 60 years younger than them. The facility itself is very clean, bright, and very upscale. They encourage a lot of individuality; it’s not as institutional like some of the other places I looked at. They also give residents a lot of options so they get a sense that they are still in control with certain things. I am very impressed with them. The staff is definitely friendly and knowledgeable; they know what they are doing. The provide activities like bingo and happy hours on Fridays. They also provided meals for me if I were come unannounced during a visit. The food is good and I was also impressed by that. They have menus that they put out a week ahead. They have a nice variety and a nice balance as far as diets goes. Food wise, no complaints. Every time I go there the staff almost knows me by name but they knew my loved ones by name. Which I think is important because it shows how personable they are.

Everything has been going great for my father so far at this community. The staff have been friendly and have been very helpful with making sure my dad makes the transition comfortably. He has been enjoying the food and is looking forward to participating in some of the activities they have to offer throughout the week. I am really happy he is becoming social with the other residents as well.

I like that I get to meet a lot of people with different backgrounds and interests. The main selling point was when I had a tour with them, they made feel like a person and treated me well. They have been very helpful and if I got to the front desk someone is there to help me too. My apartment comes with a den and plenty of closet space. It is cleaned weekly and they do a nice job. Currently they are finishing new flooring through out the community. The meals and activities have been great.

A Place for Mom has scored Copper Shores Village 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
