We chose Commonwealth Senior Living at Churchland House because of the overall professionalism and sense of caring and concern. At the time of my mother's admission, the facility and staff were great. Highly recommended community facility for elder care!!

I’m still so impressed by the fact that Commonweslth Senior Living communities routinely bringing even the memory care clients to activities off site in the community - baseball games, ice cream, parks, museums, etc. I also like that most of the care staff have worked there for years and treat the residents like family. Communication between program (admissions, nurse managers, etc. and families could be better though - more frequent and not just related to crises.

I was the person who arranged the admission, but it was for a family member being transferred there for hospice care. He passed away about a week afterwards. We were very pleased with the care. All the staff members were caring and compassionate.
The Administrators and Staff are very helpful, accommodating, caring, professional, knowledgeable, and flexible. They are concerned about the well-being of their residents. They go beyond the required to satisfy residents and family members.

It appears that a lot of the caregivers don't seem to have customer service towards the residents. It seems like my loved one seems to be getting ignored. It would be nice to have better caregiver communication towards the residents. The memory care team could use some tenured staff members to care for the residents. The administration is very nice and professional. The community overall is clean. This is the best smelling community I have been in. In fact it smells fresh each time I work in.

February 7, 2023Thank you for sharing your feedback. While we are happy you had a great experience with our community’s cleanliness, I am sorry to hear the care your family received did not fulfill our expectations. Because improving the lives of seniors is the foundation of what we do, I would like the opportunity to speak with you in greater detail about your concerns. Please reach out to me at your convenience at paula.taylor@commonwealthsl.com.
We picked this community, because it was available and they said they could handle my loved ones level of care. It's a memory care facility, and they did not offer extensive rehab. They should stick to memory care because they don't have a rehab facility. They contract with outside agencies.

My father lived here for 6 months in assisted living. They took such wonderful care of him to the point that he began to thrive again and was able to move into independent senior living in a different facility. The building is beautiful and well-maintained. Paula and Luke, the directors, are professional, very responsive, and truly care about the residents. [Name removed] at the front desk is always friendly and helpful. [Name removed] helps to coordinate fun activities and outings. [Name removed], the Maintenance Director, is quick to respond to any concerns that arise and truly cares about the safety and comfort of the residents. Everyone on staff I've encountered has been helpful, friendly, and caring. This really is a top notch facility!

We toured the community but we didn't really like the layout or the size of rooms. The marketing person was really nice and she followed up with us when we toured a few years ago. The new one we didn't get a good feel of.

September 23, 2021Dear Cat, Thank you for providing us with this feedback. At Commonwealth Senior Living, our focus is to improve the lives of seniors, their families, and each other. We know the decision to move to senior living is not one that any family takes lightly. I would love the opportunity to speak with you in greater length. I believe it may also be helpful for you to connect with some of our families. They have researched options in the area and may have advice for you on your journey. Please reach out to me at your convenience at Paula.Taylor@CommonwealthSL.com. Kind regards, Paula Taylor Executive Director
We chose Commonwealth Senior Living because I liked that this facility was smaller and everybody seemed friendly when we came in. She went with a private room and it was perfect for her needs. [name removed], the lady that greets you when you walk in is wonderful and that sets the tone for the whole facility. We had some really great nurses and everyday staff. My moms complaint on the food was that they put pepper on everything, but I talked to the chef and he was great at accommodating her needs. I would recommend them to others looking.

August 17, 2021Dear Michelle, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with other families searching for senior living. I’m so happy to hear that you have been happy with the lifestyle we offer your mother and all of our residents. Of course, we would love to see a 5 in every category! I invite you to reach out to me at your convenience to let me know how we could achieve that in your eyes. Once again, thank you for your kind words and offering us the opportunity to celebrate the team members who are making your mother’s experience so wonderful.
The first time I visited Churchland House, I knew this was where I wanted my 92 year old grandmother to reside. This facility has so much energy from the time you walk through the door and it starts with the staff. The facility is very clean, bright and welcoming. The staff members are professional and treat each resident and family member with respect and dignity. Leaving my grandmother here was the hardest decision I ever made, but I have peace of mind knowing she's well cared for here.

Very concerned to find a place Mom would be comfortable and cared for. Churchland House has fulfilled our entire wish list. The staff is so helpful and kind. The food is exceptional with white tablecloth dining. Optional services include laundry, which really helps since she is not close by. They have a doctor who comes by regularly which is a blessing. The rooms are of sufficient size and the bathrooms are great. She is beginning to socialize and make new friends partially do to the activities. Great place for my Mom.
