My mother has been a resident at the Claremont Manor for nearly eight years. She started in independent living, moved to assisted living and recently was moved into memory care. Because I live close by, I visit my mother several times a week, and over all these years, I have gotten to know and been so appreciative of nearly all of the Manor employees I’ve met and worked with. From the kitchen crew (such as [name removed] and [name removed] among others) who always warmly greeted my mother (and all residents) by name and really got to know them, to the friendly and always helpful administrative team, the maintenance crew who’ve responded to countless of our work orders over the years, to the caring, attentive nursing staff in the lodge, and, finally, of course, to the amazing aides, far too many to name. Over the years, I stopped by to see [name removed] (the executive director) or filled out recognition forms a number of times to express my gratitude for one or another of the kind, caring, genuine employee... I have been a resident of Claremont Manor since it was under the umbrella of Front Porch. In the middle of the COVID quarantine, Front Porch merged or was taken over by Covia, a much larger retirement communities corporation and the Front Porch name was retained; however, the top administrative positions quickly transitioned to Covia personnel. Claremont Manor is now undergoing substantial remodels and renovations. Food quality and meal prep have significantly declined. Protein to vegetable proportions fail to meet recommended nutritional guidelines and the kitchen regularly runs out of food which seldom, if ever, happened previously. Administration seems to be becoming top-heavy at the highest levels while support staff seems short-staffed and under supported. It might become better after all the changes have been completed but right now, I would not advise anyone to move here.

The Claremont Manor is hugely/actually in my family's case completely deceiving and nearly deadly for my mother. Nursing does not keep family posted, let's UTI infections not be noticed and then leaves them untreated... Were it not for caretakers employed from outside of the Manor facility and family observation, my mother would have died. Experience tells me that others, likely many others have died in the Manor due to serious negligence and cover up. Not a doubt in my mind.

Very nice home for mom. [Name removed] was very helpful. Staff was very nice. Residence look very happy. It looks like a great place to live.

[Removed] was very nice and gave me a second tour on a short notice. This place is very pretty and I like that it's so close to Claremont Village center, I could envision my parents walking there or just going there to people watch and enjoy different restaurants or the farmer's market. Their facilities were pretty good as well.

This wasn't a great experience. Some of the staff were kind of snotty. They were also more expensive than the place we moved to, that does better for my loved one. This just wasn't the right fit for my loved one.

It is very nice, but they are at the higher end of the budget, more than we could afford. My mom has friends at Claremont Manor how love it. It’s beautiful with excellent grounds and an excellent staff. If you have the budget for it, it could be a great place.

Good place for independent seniors who don't need care but who want to live in a community where their meals are prepared for them and their lightbulbs are changed by someone else. But if you are looking for a place that will provide any sort of medical or memory loss care with intelligence and compassion, I'd strongly suggest looking elsewhere. With a couple of exceptions, the nursing staff responsible for providing care to the independent living and assisted living residents seem interested in only one thing: making their lives, not residents' lives, as easy as possible.

The staff and residents with whom I spoke were friendly. The dining area was lively and cheerful, and the food was tasty. (I ate dinner there to check it out.) It seems like a good community of people. I want to make one more visit to check assisted living and memory care because I only had a chance to inquire about independent living during my short visit.

Big facility. Memory care area is in a cottage. I do not care for the cottage look per say, but the people there looked happy. They wanted a $1,000 to put her on list.

A Place for Mom has scored Claremont Manor 3 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
