Beautifully decorated apartment. Facility is decorated nicely for Holidays. Food is very good. CNAs are very friendly and helpful. There is limited staff because the facility is not full at this time. My father had an issue with his TV/cable hookup that took quite a while to get figured out. Very old cable boxes. All is good now. They have an excellent physical therapist and occupational therapist on staff too. Close to stores and doctors. It was a godsend because my father cannot live alone.... Read more

Response from Charter Senior Living of Moline
November 8, 2024Hi Katie, thank you for sharing your positive experience!
The staff were awesome and very helpful. Sometimes it was difficult getting the aides to hand my mom the phone when I called. I felt like it was an “effort” to go down the hall and they said she was sleeping just so I wouldn’t get to talk. I felt bad that more people don’t live there. I think more liveliness and activities would have occurred with more people. Larry, the director, was awesome. Very accommodating. Too bad he isn’t there anymore! :(

As a summary we had to leave this facility due to numerous problems and deficiencies and ultimately called the State Department of Health in regards to our experience. Cedar Hurst was ultimately fined over numerous violations. In addition to the above I have to mention that the policies of Cedarhurst were basically propaganda in their brochure and were not followed when we exited our agreement with them.

July 22, 2024Thank you for sharing your positive experience!
We have taken mom out of Cedar Hurst due to numerous problems, recurring issues, and lack of resolution. Numerous issues some that were not addressed or resolved. Friendly until issues were attempted to be resolved. Again unresolved problems that were a quality of care problem. Missed meals, poorly prepared meals, raw meat and when unable to go to dining - missed meals that were to be brought to the unit. In my observation there seemed to be activities that covered a broad spectrum-but other issues overwhelmed the overall experience. Poor or non existent management, medication management issues, insects, food , and non working emergency cords and wearable buttons among others. We taken mom out of the center and still have lingering issues and concerns. In my opinion Cedar Hurst operated in violation of State of Illinois health department regulations regarding onsite manager mandates during our time doing business with them. Whether that has been corrected now I'm unsure. But either no management at times or employees changing frequently with those that were there scrambling or unsure who was responsible for certain services. Uncomfortable situation is being nice.

It's good but had some bad experience with prior employees but happy with new managements changes. We picked this community because, it's a smaller community and all on one floor.

My family member received very good care in this facility. The smaller size of the facility and attentive staff helped him to feel very comfortable at Cedarhurst. I would recommend this facility.

I loved Cedarhurst of Moline, if I were to need this type of care this is the place that I would have chosen for myself. It is a smaller setting with only about 35-40 residents, so you get to know others on a personal level. The facility was clean and had a lot of windows and natural light which made it an uplifting and happy atmosphere. For my friend, she was wanting a larger facility so that was the only reason we did not go with Cedarhurst.
This community gives you a warm feeling and feels like home more than other places. As far as the staff I had a couple that were not so helpful and caused a few problems. The food was good and the dining room was very nice. I met people there that I enjoyed visiting with.

From what I have seen, I would highly recommend. The staff is efficient professional and caring. They really go out of their way to make the residents feel very cared for. My sister loves the food. The room sizes are huge and they each have their own full bath.

This is a nice community. When I talked with the staff they were helpful and able to answer the questions on the care that is given. We like the menu and being able to see that the other residents seemed to be happy were nice to know that this is a good environment. They have a lot to offer. We would suggest that families might want to tour this community for the care of a loved one

I checked them out. It was real nice but they didn't have any openings at the time. I moved my mom into their sister memory care facility and if they operate just the way they do at the memory care then I can highly recommend them.
