The attention to patient calls was top notch. You can hear the call system if any employee is near and you can hear "pendant pressed room 110" and it would give 3 calls if they were super busy but that was rare. They got there in a timely fashion. It was the first time in Dad's care that we didn't worry about neglect. In addition he was always clean. Everyday a fresh outfit, clean, taken to 3 meals a day. There were no exceptions, unless a resident was sick, and Dad loved that. A schedule kept. And the room was bigger than others at places we had seen. We didn't have to downsize as drastically although he had come from an independent living. My loved one was briefly a resident at Celebration Villa of South HIlls for a Respite stay and the experience was great. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. The staff, care services and meals were also great. I would recommend this facility to others.

Mom is always saying that the food is so good. There are a few special staff members that are dear to her and give a little extra attention. Communication with family is very good. The only suggestion I could make is to strongly encourage her to participate in the activities. I would recommend this facility to others.

The place was clean but hallways and common rooms were dated, needs new carpeting. Rooms are large, clean and basic but pretty nice, I was impressed with that. The food was pretty good and the people were generally nice. The food servers seemed a little impatient when taking the residents orders, but I'm sure they were busy. We had issues with getting Mom's insulin to her prior to meals. She'd have to wait for it and then her food would be cold. There was an instance where Mom was complaining of shortness of breath which the staff contributed to anxiety. Luckily her home health nurse arrived shortly afterwards, her oxygen saturation was 79%. She had to go emergently to the ER and almost died. It seems like they are understaffed. The director was very nice and accommodating. So I would say overall it wasn't great but it wasn't terrible either.

We picked this community because, It appeared very clean, had an "at home" feel to it , not a hospital feel. Also, the location was convenient for myself and my family. Also. it was the price.

They seem to always be short-staffed, which is unfortunate but happening across the board everywhere. There is a lot of staff changeover. My understanding is that the residents should be eating in the dining area but end up eating in their room because there's not enough staff. The staff that are there are friendly. The care is mostly good. I just have to stay on top of it.

It's a good place. They offer a lot of activities that kept my loved one busy. They do seem to be understaffed. My loved one like the food and the variety of meals.

These rooms were very small and looked like a cell almost. I just did not feel that welcoming feeling that I was looking for. The staff were very nice but did not like the rooms here.
For us, it was convenient because it was close. And that was a big factor for us. I found the residents to be very friendly, as well as the staff. And the care was good during the short time that my loved one was there.

Mom consistently says that her meals are not hot enough.
We thought Atria South Hills was run well. But it was in an old Howard Jonson's hotel building. So the rooms were dark. It just seemed really close, with narrow hallways. If you didn’t get a room with vaulted ceilings, you really would have felt closed in. But the people who led the tour were very nice, and the chef was very nice as well.
We chose Atria South Hills because of the proximity, price, the facility itself, and the representative that we met with was great. The room sizes are adequate, it is a converted hotel. My father has improved dramatically since being here, he looks so much better and is thriving. He is participating in activities and eating all the food. I would definitely recommend to others looking.

I am not sure how it is once you move in here, but the tour with Atria was great. This is a phenomenal property.

We were very disappointed in our experience. I explained what we needed and they gave me a price and they said they would re evaluate after 30 days and they ended up marking the price way up. We had to leave because it was too expensive.

My tour was nice. They were only offering virtual tours, so I didn’t get to go inside. It was hard to tell much from the virtual tour. The guy who led the tour was very nice. At the same time, another community allowed in-person tours and was brand new, very clean, and very friendly. So that in-person factor made the other community a done deal for us.

It's hard to judge now during Covid what it was like before, but it's starting to get better now. My loved one hadn't really met anybody up until this point, but they're opening up the dining room, and socialization is getting better. She loves their breakfast. She gets to play bingo, which she loves. And they're starting to do more activities now. There's a beautiful outdoor space to go and sit. So far it's been a positive experience, although everyone everywhere has been going through a hard time with the pandemic. Atria has had a lot of changeover with the staff and were short-staffed for a while after some of the college girls left. My loved one's room is cleaned often, the trash is taken out, her bed clothes are cleaned and always neat and fresh, and the laundry is taken care of. They take very good care of my loved one. They give her her pills every day and check on her. She's had a couple of trips to the hospital with high blood pressure and dizziness. They called me each time to see fi I wanted to bring her in myself to be checked out or if they should they call the ambulance. They're very conscientious and don't let the residents just sit there. They check on them every day and make sure they're okay. With the virtual tour, they do their best to show you around, but the video tour just couldn't do it justice. It's a beautiful facility, and there's' some great things we saw after moving in that we didn't see on the virtual tour. They have an aquarium, beautiful antique furniture, and a bird up in the lobby. Some of the ladies have dogs that my loved one enjoys seeing. It's really a great place.

The head of nursing evaluated my loved one twice, and knew dementia was part of my loved's medical care and still admitted my loved one. The community upped my cost after my loved one was admitted for my loved one care. The nurses then kept calling me daily to let me know that they couldn't take care of my loved one. They kept taking my money due to the care my loved one needed. I moved my loved one out of this community after two months. I wouldn't recommend this community to anyone.
