Clean, beautiful place. Awesome activity director, [name removed], and the rest of staff is friendly and responsive. [name removed] did a nice job working with us at the beginning and is still helpful and friendly when I visit. [name removed] and [name removed] are welcoming at the front desk. Any issues I brought up were handled promptly and to my satisfaction.

May 9, 2024Thank you for your positive feedback! We're thrilled to hear that your relative is settling in well at Cedarhurst of Woodstock. Select staff/nurses are great. [names removed] (corporate) are wonderful. They make this place go round. [name removed](corporate) Most condescending, unprofessional, and insensitive person I’ve met. [name removed] wanted to immediately evict my mother-in-law with 24 hours against a psychiatrist’s recommendation. We chose Cedarhurst based on their policy they are knowledgeable and trained in Alzheimer’s/Dementia care and can handle multiple situations. My mother in law is prone to UTIs (makes her crazy), she had some aggravated behaviors (normal for this disease) Had a bad UTI in Nov 2023 and once clear was normal. No behavior for 5 months and then evicted out of the blue in Mar 2024. No conversation that was a possibility or in the works. Raised rent 10% even then this is a cheaper facility than most, but classic “you get what you pay for” nice walls and decor don’t know how to handle these residents. Also use agency who don’t care about residents

My mom is a current resident. They really sold this place well to us but what she gets is not what they promised. They seem to be plagued with problems. They have had constant staff turnovers, and problems with finding staff. She has gone 3 weeks, at times, without having her bed changed or apartment cleaned. It is vacuumed but never dusted. The portions of food being served has gone down. Some nights at dinner due to lack of staff, she has waited 45 minutes for her food to be brought to her table. They provide transportation to doctor appointments but only if it is on a Monday or Wednesday and if you give at least a weeks notice. Now she gets hit with a 21% rate increase with no new services but continued cuts.

Be wary this place is very understaffed and my parent fell 3 times in 1 week ..we pulled her out and reported to IDPH.. they did find violations.. just because it looks nice means nothing. They just want to fill the place for revenue

They cost a lot for the limited services they provide. they have too many issues with their dining services. They promise benefits they cannot provide. The community could improve the following: quality of food, variety of good, speed of service, and follow up- drink refills.

A Place for Mom has scored Cedarhurst of Woodstock 8.1 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
