Ate lunch there and I’m 83 and had a hard time eating it. Watched other patients having the same problem, if they didn’t eat when time was up dishes were removed. Felt bad for them. If I could handle him at home , for the price I’m paying for there, I would bring him home but saw how they handle the patients is ignore until they have time. At home I would answer immediately and meds would be given on time and wake him up when there due.

It has been an amazing experience. My dad has been well taken care of and the amount of guidance, support they have provided has been immeasurable. They communicate very well with me and my family and keep us updated. I'm so blessed that they accepted my dad.

I didn’t like anything. Bad communication regarding medicine and health issues, staff was inattentive (sat and talked on phones), didn’t help with feeding (when they said they would), showed zero empathy for our concerns. Lacking in cleanliness. Did not offer enough beverages.

The staff at Bright Leaf is extremely friendly and willing to listen to our needs and concerns. Sometimes we have to follow up with them to make sure things have been done, but they are always polite. The price was the main thing that made Bright Leaf stick out initially over other places we were looking at.

The staff at Bright Leaf Place is great, and any issues are always addressed. I feel in some instances they have gone above and beyond in their care for my father-in-law. I would recommend to other families.

They are nice, friendly, and helpful. They call if something is going on but don't over call. They have good rates. Not sure on what they can improve. I will think in it.

Bright Leaf has been a great place so far, the staff members have always been super nice and friendly with our loved one. We have had a couple of challenges when it comes to the dining service, due to our loved ones mobility they need staff to assist them to the dining hall and when they get super busy the may forget to grab out loved one - but that has only happened a few times and we understand it with the staffing issues. They have pretty good activities going on like bingo and bible studies during the week. The transportation is really good as well.

Response from Cardinal Senior Communities at Danville
May 17, 2022Thanks for the review and feedback! We appreciate you taking the time to share with us, and we’re so glad to hear that you’re happy with your loved one's care. Thank you again! – Team Enlivant
The staff is wonderful. They will do anything you ask of them and tended to our mom like she was their own. The pictures I see on the Bright Leaf Place Danville location does not show the Memory Care residential area. Memory Care needs to be renovated with more space. The sitting area and dining area are situated right beside each other. It's a very cramped area. The staff's office area is too small. There's a small bathroom right there in the dining area. The Memory Care staff is commended greatly for what they have to deal with. Well done ladies and gentlemen! Thank you so much!

This is a very nice community. My loved one seems well taken care of. All the staff are really nice, and proactive in the care of my loved one. It has given me peace of mind knowing my loved one is here. I've been pleased so far with the care my loved one has received. The food isn't as hot as my loved one would like it to be. They had a loaded activities calendar when we toured. There aren't as many activities offered now that my loved one has moved in. Due to the pandemic they haven't been doing outings with the residents.

It is a group of very dishonest people who do not provide adequate care or services. The contract is unclear, and they take advantage of the residents financially. They don't provide any activities. The food is subpar and doesn't meet the standards of an elementary school cafeteria. The administration is very controlling of the residents and completely took advantage of my loved one. There was an instance where they required her medications to be managed by the staff, who then in turn refused to provide medications as directed by a physician. At one point, they dropped medications on the floor and just left them there. According to the latest state surveying, they've been cited for medication mismanagement. They are completely devoid of the patient's wants, desires, or voice.

Bright Leaf is very a friendly community, with competent staff. They relate well with the residents. Sometimes when I call the office I don't get the staff, I get the answering service. The answering service is about coming to Bright Leaf. If you need something urgent you need to call one of the cell phones.

Really liked this place. All on one floor. [name removed] was very pleasant and can see he cares for the residents in his building. Place clean and met a few residents that seemed happy being there.

If I wouldn't have gotten my husband out of there he would have died. I put him in the hospital and he was dehydrated and sodium was sky high. He fell 3 times and the stiches stayed in his head from [dates removed]. I now have him in a better place. he now eats talks gets a bath and has fluids. Please get your love one out of there. I paid 4,228.00 a month. Now I pay 1,500.00. He is happy, fed and bathed. That place is a money racket.

When we toured this community we did notice a distinct urine smell. The food was not appetizing looks, it just didn't seem good. This community did offer a lot of things but nothing our loved one needed. There seemed to be more CON's than PRO's with this community

If you love your family member, you will not place them in this facility. My daughter will tell you the food is worse then what they serve at her school. They make their medical team work in the dining facility serving patients and cleaning the kitchen. I had to help many a wheelchair bound patient back to their room because the staff were overworked. The breakfast features powdered eggs, and for lunch she got spaghetti, hash browns and potatoes. This was served to clients that have diabetes and heart conditions. For dinner they only get a sandwich and chips. Their is a huge turnover in staff because of how poorly they treat the staff and the clients. The main concern of the manager and the executive director is collecting money. The only thing of value at this place is the staff who worked to care for the patients despite how they are maltreated by management. When the power goes out they do not ensure that the clients on oxygen are ok. There have been many compliant relayed to me by staff that the memory care clients are poorly treat and often abused.

I'm glad we found this community for my mom she is really fitting in here and enjoying the activities such as bingo. The caregivers here are friendly and responsive to mom's needs. The place stays clean daily cleaning of the rooms. The food is delicious, and they have a patio that she can enjoy. And the price was better here than the other place.

We had toured other communities and we knew right away that Bright Leaf Place was the perfect fit for my mom. The staff really treats my mom well. The communication with the staff is amazing. Before they give her any medication, even an aspirin, they call and check with me first. I haven't had a chance to eat there with her yet, but she says she is really happy with the food that they serve. They have all kinds of activities and entertainment that they have come in for the residents. They have paired my mom up with a couple of other ladies and they all participate in the activities together. The staff always reminds them that activities are about to start and encourages them to participate. When any of my family comes to visit mom they say they would love to live here themselves. I would highly recommend this community to friends and family.
