I am a retired realtor and was invited to see Cardinal Point when it first opened. I told my husband I would like to live there one day. I loved it from the beginning and when I first toured it reminded me of being on a cruise ship. Who knew - about 12 years later we moved in. My husband, who was not well, lived here 8 months before passing away and I was so very happy that I was here and not alone living in a big house! Over the years I have met many wonderful friends and enjoy their company . I love our dining room, with it's beautiful views of the water and many boats. The food is delicious, the wait staff wonderful and best of all I don't have to cook. I have maid service every week. My bed is changed, linens washed and house cleaned. What more could you ask for! There are beautiful walking paths for your .pleasure. We enjoy a lovely courtyard and swimming pool. All our managers are delightful and helpful. I am Blessed. I moved here in [date removed] with my wife who had cognitive decline. She died in [date removed] and even though I am healthy and only 77 I have chosen to stay here. This is like a cruise ship, excellent dining room with a varied menu, attentive staff, location on the water, heated swimming pool year-round. We have many activities to suit resident requirements for exercise and entertainment. This is my final move and it will be yours as well

My mother had a positive experience at Cardinal Point. Building friendships and receiving compassionate care can greatly enhance the quality of life, especially in the later stages. She found a supportive community here, which was very comforting for her and our family. We will always be grateful for all of the positive experiences that left lasting memories and gratitude for us and the care providers who made a difference in her life.

I have lived here over nine years and can’t imagine being anywhere else. I visited 11 other retirement communities and none were even close. We are small enough with a perfect activity calendar and great food. The location along water is ideal with temperate climate. Friendly residents and staff - what’s not to like!

Visited this facility not knowing what to expect… I was wowed by the professionalism of the staff and the cleanliness of the grounds. I appreciated the timely manner I was attended to and then the cheerfulness of the marketing director and the willingness to answer all of my questions was a major plus for me. Without a doubt I 100% recommend you to visit and consider Cardinal Point for your future home.

My wife and I have lived at Cardinal Point since March of 2020, and have been very happy here. Our 1100 sq. Ft. apartment is very comfortable, and the staff is congenial and competent. We participate in numerous activities that keep us well entertained. We take great pride in serving on the culinary committee and are able to make suggestions to our head chef on menu options. We feel safe , heard and happy.

My mother has recently moved from a home in Walnut Creek to Cardinal Point in Alameda. This brings her close to family and friends and we couldn’t be happier. The staff has been wonderful. Supportive and empathic. It is a great move for her. She is settling in nicely, taking advantage of exercise, gatherings, excursions and making new friends.,

I could write pages about the positive qualities of Oakmont Cardinal Point. The competent, caring, thoughtful - and friendly fun - staff have been well documented, as has the location on the estuary, architecture, and decor of our building. Having varying levels of exercise classes is a much appreciated positive for me. I also like the other many and varied activities available. The best part is that I can maintain my own autonomy: either join a group or enjoy my own space. Of course, transitioning into a senior facility means letting go of some of our lifestyle; to my surprise, I realize that I have gained so much more than I lost. The acclimation process can be a challenge, but OK if managed with humor, interest in others - and patience. An example would be learning the protocols of our dining process. Very good food, by the way. Here at Cardinal Point, I am happy, safe, content, and have a strong sense of being well cared for.

My wife and i moved into a great apartment at Cardinal Point 12 years ago. Regrettably my wife passed away a year ago and I live alone so I depend upon all of the services of this facility. The food is very high quality and varied and well prepared and the care is friendly and professional to keep residents safe, secure, and well entertained.

My husband and I toured Oakmont as part of our search for our eventual landing spot for retirement living with a care component. We had an overall positive view of the property and community spaces and personal living areas. We were matched with a resident and shared lunch with him. That was a totally delightful experience! The menu was more exciting than I might have expected for lunch; the food was prepared on a par with nice restaurants and the presentation was equally attractive. I had a composed salad and salmon and both were done to perfection.

We chose Oakmont because of the proximity to our former home that we lived in for over 50 years. It is a community that we knew and we knew people who have lived here as well. We are in the largest apartment they have which is 2 bedrooms 2 bath, it is great size. They do have other options on room sizes as well. The staff are still very attentive and they address your questions and needs. I would recommend to others looking as long as you can afford it.

I am so impressed by the competent and caring staff at Cardinal Point. My mother-in-law has lived there for 2 1/2 years and said, "I wish I had moved here 10 years ago!" She was in a nursing home briefly a few months ago and couldn't wait to get home to Cardinal Point. Ramon the social director deserves special praise (and maybe a raise) for his dedication and sensitivity to the residents' needs.

I have been a resident of this community approximately one and one half months. I had researched several facilities in my area and decided this one, Cardinal Point, was the one I most wanted to join. I am very happy here and plan to live here for the rest of my life.

It's very clean, and the staff is really friendly. They are quick to respond to questions and concerns. The food is excellent. We chose them for a combination of reasons, we liked the look and feel of the whole place, the quality of the food was good, and we liked the people. It was also in a good location for us. It is a lot of money, but there is a waiting list and it can be hard to get in.

A Place for Mom has scored Cardinal Point 9.8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
