Moved into a two bedroom apartment with beautiful lake view in mid-November. [Name removed] the Residency Director was very helpful in answering questions and making each resident feel that their needs were being met. She provided multiple tours of the housing options and the Cape Albeon facility to the resident and the entire family. The apartment was updated with new paint and window treatments prior to moving in. They also allow some customization such as hanging ceiling fans and adding electrical outlets. The atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed. There is a monthly calendar of events available. The grounds are spacious encompassing the lake, surrounding walkway, and the outside patio. Currently the holidays are in full swing. Last weekend the grandkids and great-grandkids attended the Breakfast with Santa. Cape Albeon provided breakfast, visit with Santa and carriage rides. It was a wonderful family event.... Read more

We have been very pleased with Cape Albeon. The staff is remarkable. Everyone has been very friendly, and if there are any questions or concerns (e.g., something needs attention in the apartment), service ihas been prompt. The only thing that we have not liked is the quality of the food at supper. However, options are available, such as ordering a sandwich off of the lunch menu.

My parents moved here in the fall. This is the place you HOPE exists. The professionals who work here take pride in their work, and most importantly, they care. They are accommodating, interested, empathetic, available, and prompt. You cannot believe how much community is here and how much they want to see this community not only grow but thrive. I couldn't be more pleased.

I was a bit disappointed with this facility. The price is on the top end of all the communities I'm looking at and for the assisted living area, I wasn't impressed. There was a pungent smell at the entrance when I walked in and the receptionist and another staff member were talking and didn't stop their conversation while I waited. They also continued to talk as I filled out the info card. While I waited another staff member walked up and stood talking. (not necessarily a bad thing, but felt out of place). The tour had some unpleasant smells- suggesting upholstery was soiled and needed cleaned. Very institutional feel. cleaning staff were in the halls along with linen carts and cleaning equipment, a charging cord was outside a closed door on the floor in the walkway. cleaning/other staff were blocking the halls while residents with wheelchairs and walkers were trying to pass. These staff also didn't move to allow the residents or myself and my guide to move through. The two rooms I was shown needed cleaned and very minor repairs (one was just vacated and hadn't been cleaned yet). The common areas were small and empty- there were no residents using them. the game room was very tiny and had a small door to enter. No one thing was a major turn off (except the smells), but together, I know my family will not like the feel there. It feels very much like a nursing home that looks like a motel.
