1.Overall experience. Overall I think it was good. Some things I didn't care for but I imagine that's going to happen everywhere. It's a tough job. But I would recommend them and go back again for my mom if she needs it. 2.Cleanliness of the facility. I thought it was always pretty clean, but had ants in his room shortly after he moved in. But they took care of it right away. 3.Friendliness. I think they all seemed nice. Even the one I didn't like was nice. She just spoke inappropriately for the setting. 4.Quality of care Some of the staff were outstanding. 1 was horrible. The hospice nurse told her to get out of his room once because of what she said. Overall I felt like they did fine though. 5.Administrative staff. I had mixed feelings on this. 1 lady was awesome. Came to evaluate my dad. Did everything right away. After he was in, couldn't get a hold of her again. 6.Food. Suppers didn't impress me but he said lunches were good. 7.Activities. Can't say. He was never well enough to participate but it seemed like they always had something going on. 8.Value for the money. It's expensive but all places are. They had nice options for the guests.... Frankly, I was overwhelmed by the compassion, care and passion for their work that the people at Cambridge demonstrated to me from the beginning to the end of our journey together. In a very emotionally charged time, they expertly and caringly guided me through the process and evaluated our needs in order to deliver the best possible solutions for our dear 95 year old friend June. They evolved with our needs and fully delivered on them. The staff was remarkable and attentive, always demonstrating respect and aptitude on every occasion. The food was great, the surroundings extremely clean and comfortable, and the mood in the facility was always upbeat. A special thank you to; [names removed] at the front desk. I appreciate you all.

My mother was at Cambridge for just over one year. It’s a new, nice facility. The staff and incredibly kind, caring, and well-intentioned. She loved many of them. Unfortunately, 90% of the staff are severely undertrained in all aspects of elderly care, to no fault of their own. There was often a complete inability to contact your loved one using their phone system. It rings without answer 9 times out of 10. Hospice nurses and others were also unable to reach staff with important updates and changes. Two staff on overnights for 30+ residents, rarely to be seen. At least one instance of 20+ hours of no changing of soiled pants/clothing, leaving my mother completely saturated, with ongoing UTIs and skin problems. Delayed or no response at all to call button. Often a complete lack of communication with family about falls, and between staff changing shifts when meds, status changes. Repeated and consistent missed, missing, late, and mishandled, medication administration.

Very happy with everything, but individual room cleaning could be better. I know that they are hiring more people to help with that.

It takes the worry away for our family knowing that mom is well cared for. Communication between Cambridge and family is very good. Good medical care and activities and food is nutritional. Staff is very caring and sensitive.

The people there really seem to care. It's so clean, and I like that it smells good when you walk in, which isn't the case everywhere. There were a lot of areas where you could sit and relax with your family, and it felt home-like. They had a nice back garden terrace area. It was expensive, but I felt we got our money's worth and that my mom was getting the best care.

my wife was in respite care for a month, it was our first exposure to something like that. overall it was a positive experience, they got the job done. I do think they learned a little about what they can and can't do. Cambridge is a new facility, and there were some troubles with staff and hiring new people. the ones that were there were very good and helpful. it also was not full, there were about 6-10 other residents. I think that they are learning the ropes and overall I would go back to them if they could find the additional help - (they said that they didn't have it at the time).

It's very clean, very new, and very easy to access. If a family member is very able bodied, I would suggest the 2nd floor because it has some neat stuff up there, for instance a theater, salon, and library. The staff seem to be very helpful. Mom stays really busy with activities. It seems comparatively priced to other places nearby. Right now it's an especially good value because it's brand spanking new and not at full occupancy. The only thing I've found that to be challenging is trying to reach the staff on the weekends. That's when I'm generally available to visit, but the staff doesn't answer the phones well during that time.

A Place for Mom has scored Cambridge Senior Living Hudson 8.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
