Lately there doesn't seem to be records of what my mother in law is doing or not, showering or not and no one she says comes to look for her if she doesn't show up for meals. We hoped there would be at least bimonthly meetings regarding her status from her care team.

May 22, 2024We appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and are sorry to hear we are not meeting all of your expectations. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss with you further and encourage you to reach out to our management team.
Evidently, no one helped my husband get dressed as his shirt was inside out & he had pajamas on. When I asked him why he said he couldn't find any pants. His room was very dirty & messy. When my son and I were there at dinner time we noticed the floor was quite dirty.

I get calls from the nursing staff very frequently. My loved one likes the food-loves the ice cream! Housekeeping appears to be good. When I visit, which is frequently, his room and bathroom are clean and garbage is removed frequently. I would recommend the facility to others.

I knew the marketing person from my husbands long term care facility. She couldn't have made my mother's transition any easier. The two activity directors were wonderful and caring. The nursing staff was helpful. My mother had been at assisted living for 12 years living independently, but she needed help and it was expensive to do it a la carte. Brookdale was close to her children and all the other reasons I stated above. They made a difficult situation manageable.

Didn't care for Brookdale. Although aesthetically pleasing, the atmosphere seemed dreary almost. Figured that maybe the vast majority of residents receive a high level of care. My aunt's not "there" - yet.
We have been very pleased so far with our experience at Brookdale. It is a challenging time of transition for my Mom but they have been kind and accommodating. I think the welcome and transition went really well, all staff was very helpful. The only concern mom has is the communication between departments may need some attention.

Our family had an in person tour and we thought Brookdale was a great place we have a great tour experience. We really liked how diverse the community was, but what we think detoured our loved one from picking this community was the apartments being a little smaller and the location being a little further away. However if our loved one ever had to move we would encourage him to come back and check out Brookdale.
We chose Brookdale West Hartford because I knew the sales rep. We needed to make a quick move and they were amenable to everything we requested and it is was in a good location as well. The staff are very accommodating. The sales staff, nurses, activity director, CNA's - everybody. My only complaint is the food. My loved one was a picky eater and she was very limited on her options and you did not know in advance. It was probably ok for others, just not for her situation. I would definitely recommend Brookdale to others.

Our tour at Brookdale West Hartford was fine. They didn't seem to have a lot of help though. When we walked around, I saw one woman passing out meds, and that was it.

April 7, 2022We appreciate you taking the time to visit and share your feedback. We are committed to quality service and care and will review your feedback with our management team.
We were pleased with them. We had a good experience. They're conveniently located, and the building faces the back 9 of the golf club. The admissions director was wonderful. They were very good any time we had a little problem - they called us back and got back to us quickly. My loved one was happy there, and we would use them again for a respite stay. The only problem was we couldn't get the cable TV to work, and the other residents said that was pretty typical.
They are taking very good care of my parents. The director is very responsive to any questions or concerns that we may have. They have movies everyday and my parents enjoy happy hour a few times a week. They have socials and musicians come in to the community. My loved ones have also made a lot of crafts. There is also a dining club and they can sign up to go out to a restaurant. They have also made a lot of friends while being here. This community also allowed for my loved ones to stay together and was still close to the area that they were used to.

Don't go there. My loved one has been in this community for the last year-and-a-half. Everything went downhill, such as food, transportation, activities. They stated they couldn't find driver. My loved one is very unhappy, and he was happy he moved in. In the last two weeks when I saw him he was upset about the food, and being stuck in the room. The food is being delivered to the residents' rooms at night due to COVID. We are able to see our loved ones by appointment only and limited 30 minutes. now.

We chose Brookdale West Hartford because of the cleanliness, the staff on the dementia unit, and the price. The room sizes are very good, my mom is in a duplex room she shares, but she has plenty of room for her belongings. I have not eaten here, but my mom likes the food. They have been absolutely wonderful through COVID, with making sure we were doing Facetime, patio visits, window visits, zoom, etc. My favorite part about this community would be the caring that the staff members have for the residents. They also care about the families. I would absolutely recommend.

My significant other says the food is really good. The activities they have are outings, they will plan activities on their weekly calendar. They take activity recommendations from the residents. The rooms are spacious, very clean. We really like the atmosphere, we could really tell it was going to be a great place. The way it was set up had a homey feel, very bright and relaxing. Its very inviting, they staff was always smiling, they are super nice. They are very attentive, the care provided is phenomenal, they are very compassionate. The staff has great communication, they have kept us up to date through email or letters. This community is very well rounded. Would recommend it to anyone.

Location played a big role in our decision. It is affordable. We like that its is a smaller community not one of those bigger places where someone can get lost in the shuffle. They could use more activities. They are taking good care of my mom, she is happy there.

My mother lived here for a year and a half and during that time the care was minimal. After being promised a bland diet, we were told once we moved in they could not accommodate the simple foods she required. Very unhealthy food which included bacon, sausage and heavy gravies with most meals. Staff often inattentive as residents asked to be taken to bathrooms.
