The staff has been great, especially the engineering/ maintenance staff. The guys are very friendly and really want to help. The food seems to need a major overhaul. The residents are complaining and the menu meetings don't seem to help. We were told when we were looking at the community that there were many activities which doesn't seem to he the case. Need some more diverse things to choose from.

The activities are great, some areas could be cleaner (bistro), the grounds are nice as are the workers. The admin office is not good. Very disorganized. Don't know who is doing what or who you should call. They do not give you a list of names and contacts. This was especially bad when Mom transitioned to AL from IL. And, they don't prepare you for the move or keep you in the loop. The the billing isn't good. Ex: Companion services are a la carte. The bill will say $[removed]. It doesn't list each day the services was used. Just like meals. It costs x per meal insane they bulk bill. It's very hard to reconcile. They do not itemized costs.

Everyone is very nice and, in general, responsive. The aides are lovely, and that is a big plus. The nurses are also kind. Communication with the family is adequate and I would recommend the facility. For improvement - the food is not good, and my folks are not picky - they loved the food at their previous facility. Some suggestions for improvement - say what you do and do what you say. Things were promised that were not done. Grab bars were not installed, and a month later we are still waiting for one more to be installed. We requested daily showers for my Dad, and we were not told this would be a problem and it is. We were told the aides could do my Dad's catheter, and they were not trained. We were told the care plan would be adjusted after 30 days and this still has not happened or been communicated to the family. Most issues have been rectified, and the staff is responsive. Schedules and procedures were not communicated well (e.g. when does housekeeping come? When is laundry done? A laundry basket on wheels is required but we weren't informed until after they moved in) - so, maybe a welcome letter that explains this could be provided the day they move in. And they could bring in performers for activities instead of just showing movies. The sales manager kept in constant touch before we moved in, but once the contract was signed we heard nothing. The procedure to use to engage maintenance was not communicated. The staff is truly caring and that is comforting. I do believe that they genuinely care and overall, this facility is above average. If they they tweaked a few things, they could easily be a five star rated facility across the board.

My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale Chatfield. I would have recommended them, until my loved one went into the hospice program and they couldn't have cared less. I had to hire someone to be there at night while I was there all day.

The entire intake process was excellent, from them doing a pre admission assessment to giving us recommendations for movers and utility hookups like phone and cable. We met with staff from executive to nursing, housekeeping, food service and maintenance. All very friendly and welcoming. We had some complications during the admission process on our end that they sorted brilliantly. So as the children who were responsible for finding and managing this, it was amazing because we live at least 1,000 miles away. My mother is very very picky and she couldn't stop saying how clean and well maintained her new home is and she actually likes the food! She loves the folks who are taking care of her and we are especially relieved that the nurses there are on the ball. They communicate with us and have been excellent in not only providing care, but arranging for care when needed. Brookdale is worth every dollar they charge and are clear about the cost of care. They have tiers of care, which we find better than a la carte.

Mom chose this place before even seeing any others, even though we were scheduled to have more visits. She had a connection with folks here who also go the the Elmwood Community Center where she used to Volunteer.

If I trust to have my mom there, you can too. If you can afford it. We picked this community for my loved one, because of the location, and overall structure of team management.

They were very good in helping me understand that it was not always the best for [name removed] for me to be there twice a day. He began to engage more when I only came once a day - and occasionally even skipped a day. I would definitely recommend Brookdale Chatfield to anyone looking for good Alzheimer care.

We have toured/spent time at Brookdale Chatfield and plan to move my mother into this facility very soon. The staff and the residents have all been welcoming and helpful! It seems like people are happy living here and that they're actively engaged in their community.

Best decision I ever made was to move into Brookdale Chatfield. The residents and the other staff are friendly. There are many different activities and outing trips. The location is perfect for me. My apartment is small but I have a full kitchen, washer and a dryer. MY family also visits often.

We picked this community, because my loved one picked the place, and my neighbor recommend it. It seemed like a wonderful place, after taking the tour. The community is really good. The staff work really hard to create a very friendly environment. It feels like a homey environment. The peope are very nice and they have a good diversity of actiivities.

They seem to have an efficient number of trained staff members there at all level which are paying great attention to what our loved ones needs and wants are to come degree. They financial billing aspect is something we are not so crazy about right now .

When our loved one passed away some of the staff our family had worked with were very good to us and very nice. However, going through all the covid restrictions we were only allowed to either visit her in her room or in certain areas in the community. We were not able to see any activities going on or be with her during the meal time. Sometimes the care services were a hit or miss.

It's a clean facility, and the residents are friendly. A few of the staff were very good, but others were absolutely not good. The care was pretty much non-existent. They didn't contact the family and keep us updated. The cost was high, and we were lied to about what they provided. They could not provide the level of care my loved one needed. If your loved one doesn't need much help, it's probably a great facility. Otherwise, it just was not a good fit for our loved one.

The overall quality of the meals has been great, but the coordination of making sure our loved one is getting the right meals has been difficult. They activities are fine and based off our experience so far we would recommend Brookdale Chatfield to others.

This community was our least favorite. It was very confusing while there. They were nice and followed up a lot of times in the beginning before the tour, but after we toured there was no follow up once we had already went through.

I would tell others that this is where I would go if and when the time comes. The welcoming atmosphere and commodore stand out to me most. There have been some hiccups with the food as they have been a change of staff.

While the initial quote on the room seems higher than other places, veteran and other discounts can actually bring the room prices below that of other facilities. Costs for extras such as home health aids on the independent living side are less than other places and those services are not outside contractors. Amenities are numerous and it's obvious that the staff takes pride in what they offer.
