Brookdale West Boynton Beach

Only complaint is the food is hit or miss. I like that he has others around him. He does not have to eat alone or be alone if he does not want to. The place is clean and the people are friendly. I am overall happy with Brookdale. Just wish my dad would not complain about the food as much as he does. For the record sometimes he is happy with it. Most times not. The community is very nice. I have recommended already Brookdale to a friend of mine

About a month ago we were considering moving my Mom to a different facility as she was not happy there but ultimately she will not be happy anywhere so for now she's tolerating it. She does not participate in any activities. They used to have Friday afternoon happy hours with a resident playing a baby grand piano every week. Since that has stopped, she just stays in her room except for meals. My mother tells me the dining staff all treat her very well. And we both adore the nursing staff. They allow me not to worry about anything. Very proactive. Mom's biggest complaint is the food at this point. She says the quality has gone down quite a bit. My low score on value is probably unfair but there have been price increases and for a studio she is paying almost <fee removed> monthly now just for the rent portion. Seems high to me.

It's good, I would recommend.

To decide upon a place for my father-in-law to reside when he could no longer live alone, I checked out 4 facilities and chose Brookdale. The sales agents were not pushy and were very, very helpful in facilitating this move. However, after the move, you are pretty much on your own to find out who is in charge of each department. I wandered the hallways asking questions and then searching for answers myself. When you finally find someone, they are constantly in meetings and it takes days before you get a call. New residents and family should be seen by staff and instructed on where to turn for guidance. Daily bed making and clean up of resident happens very late in morning, or in afternoon, unacceptable. Daily meds were not dispensed and forgotten on a number of days, causing pain and discomfort. On the whole, everyone tries but the facility could do better.

Lovely facility with caring staff. Excellent accommodations and amenities. Highly recommended.

I have been very happy with how responsive folks are. This place claimed that their nursing staff would be excellent with ostomy care and they are. They have been kind and caring. Whenever I call or have a question about my relative, they are knowledgeable and caring and quick to act. The place is clearly well run. It has only been a few months, but smooth sailing and good care from the nurses, the maintenance fella, the business office and the front desk!

I think when a new resident moves in there should be a better checklist to make sure they are set up properly I'm over all satisfied with the establishment My mother-in-law is the safe place it's clean I know she's not eating the food at all and drinking ensure instead There's just not much in terms of entertainment for them or activities And the activities they do have seem to be mundane and repetitive But the truth is, I don't know if it would matter since she doesn't even do the basics

My aunt is 97 and basically stays in her room. She pays extra to have meals delivered and doesn't partake in any of the activities. I believe my aunt is as happy there as she would be anywhere. I basically chose it because it is a mile away from me.

My mom is a new resident. Staff are friendly and everyone knows residents' names. They do eventually return calls. Front desk almost always seems to be manned. First floor rugs could use replacing, as they are stained. The food is mediocre and service slow. There are some nice activities and weekend services.

We met [name removed] and she was incredible! Also [name removed]! It seems like an great place for my stepmother to be. The residents seemed busy and happy; the place was located in a great area, and several staff are veteran workers-- long tenured!

All of the attendants and especially the nursing staff ([name removed]) are wonderful... the food is good for the most part and they have a great cleaning crew.

The main reason we chose Brookdale West Boynton Beach was because of the overall look of the facility and the location. They also had availability. I feel that they do not check on my friend enough.

ZERO complaints or issues. They take great care of my Mom. FABULOUS I now consider many staff members my friends. She never misses a meal and has yet to complain about anything.The great care is well worth the cost. She never misses a happy hour. Brookdale is everything you could ever want in an ALF. Great care, great food and happy staff.

I thought they would be able to take care of my husband. The sales office does a great job. The unit was a one bedroom with large windows. I knew he loved light. The room smelled of urine all the time. The women who cleaned the floor threw a cup of water on it and mopped it up.Needless to say it was a very poor decision to place him there.

I picked this community because it was close to family, it's brighter, and it was recommended by someone who already had a family member living here. They are very accomodating. Management is very courteous. The interaction between the residents, could be improved. It would be nice if they had a two-sided flyer for activities, and the food menu. Overall, I would recommend to others.

As far as the question about food my brother complains a lot. He says the rest of the people he is around do not like it either. He thinks what they have left over one day is served the next day. It's really hard for me to make this judgment since I'm not there every day. They are very accommodating and helpful when there are problems. Definitely friendly to the residents.

Our loved one is basically very happy and they are great with her, and I don't want that to change. I am grateful she is happy there. She is happy there and the staff is wonderful and very patient with her.

I would certainly recommend this facility to others. The staff is friendly. They try to meet my mother's needs. Unfortunately, at 99, she is set in her ways and is reluctant to join in any activities. She is also hard of hearing, visually impaired, and unable to walk. The staff tries their best to make her happy. They always take my calls, should I have a question. The meals are good, with many choices. The housekeeping is wonderful.
