Brookdale Wekiwa Springs

Positives - it is a great location for us. The outside and the grounds are kept up well. The staff (mostly) is friendly, and the apartment/rooms are the best part. Negatives - High turnover in staff, they are short-staffed. My Mom doesn't like the food, and the time answering calls is lengthy (could wait awhile certain times of day).

I would give a 5 to all categories, [name removed] loves being there. [name removed] loved the sales lady who showed us around because she treated her like a normal adult in spite of her handicaps. She has told [name removed] that she is the reason she chose that location to live at

The facility and staff were very friendly and helpful when it came time for helping move in. The housekeeping leaves a lot to be desired. My mom was there for 3 weeks before they did any cleaning or bathing for my mom and then only because we complained to the director. She has been there almost 2 1/2 months and they have helped her bathe twice. We are the ones helping her because they aren't. I would also tell them to keep track of the billing because there have been claims of service that were not provided. I would recommend them to anyone who has a need for a place, but tell them that they need to pay attention to the bill and watch for them for housekeeping.

I would not recommend it. It's very costly and not worth it. The food, services, and care were extremely disappointing. They did not care at all for my loved one. They gave him an eviction letter because he was one month late without any previous notice. This was very hurtful for my WW11 veteran dad. Close to a family member and they made promises that they didn't keep.

A nice and comfy place. Your mom feels at home here with their great support.

We have had a great experience with Brookdale Wekiwa Spings - the community itself is very clean and the staff members have been fantastic. The meals and dining service is wonderful and they have a ton of different activities going on for the residents they are always so busy. The value for the money is reasonable - it is comparable to other communities in the area and we would recommend them to other families.

Having a grandmother who is 86 years old the things you value in assisted living are exactly what stands out about this facility. The chef makes sure to come and ask if his cooking is exactly what she is wanting. Which is much more then she has had in the past. I moved her closer to us to be able to spend more time with her great granddaughter. I love that we can go and attend events with her. I’m happy to see more activities being added to the list since she’s been there which is always a plus to keep her busy. Grandma loves walking around the building another big moving point was the fact it’s tucked back away from the main roads and craziness to enjoy. I love that everyone is so understanding and willing to help if there’s any issues. In the beginning we had a problem getting paperwork from her old facility and they went above and beyond to help! The cost of the room and the care she receives for the facility is very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place to others.

Excellent experience. I needed assisted living placement for my sister. I live 1200 miles away so I tried to do as much preparation as possible remotely, before traveling. The placement team at Brookdale Wekiwa Springs did a fantastic job! We toured the home virtually and had frequent communication with sales and clinical staff. With placement arranged, I traveled to transfer my sister to her new home. Unfortunately there were complications and delays but [name removed] and the clinical staff went above-and-beyond to make the schedule work. I finally brought my sister to her new home at 7PM. [name removed], very thankfully, doesn't punch out and go home at the end of the day. This day and frequently throughout the admission process, she answered texts and provided information that was necessary to make the transition process successful. The clinical team went out of their way to get my sister settled in at 7PM, finding some dinner for her and working diligently to get her medications in order. Throughout the process of moving my sister into her new home, I encountered, spoke with or witnessed other residents in the home and their interactions with staff. Everyone appeared very well cared-for and happy. I'm very pleased with the facility and the entire care team at my sister's new home.

The staff at this ALF is super friendly and treat the residents like their own family. I highly recommend this ALF. The staff there always have activities to keep residents engage and socialize. If you are looking to move mom and dad to an assisted living facility you can trust this place with their care. This facility has a great memory unit with caring staff as well.

The Brookdale Wekiwa Springs community is very nice, the outside area and surrounding grounds are super nice we really like that area. The staff members always have a smile on their face every time we come to visit our loved one. We really enjoy the activities program, they do celebrate birthday and holidays. Our loved one specifically enjoys the dancing, music and all the socializing. We would recommend this community to other families
