Brookdale Lake Orienta

My loved one is currently a resident at Brookdale Lake Orienta. The staff is very kind, attentive, and caring. The move in process went well. I can't comment on the food as my loved one is on purred meals. I would recommend this facility to others. The location is near a hospital, if needed.

Get it in writing. No matter what they say, read the brochure and the paperwork. We were told things before the move in that didn't happen or were revoked such as how far they will travel for appointments. Whether it not she could have a pendant. And cleaning the apartment before move in. It became very frustrating. Really now that she's in she's happy. They do lots of fun things and family events. We were just not happy initially.

All staff and residents at Brookdale Lake Orienta are all very friendly. We chose this facility because it is a larger size than some others we looked at. We have a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment. I would definitely recommend.

Convenient location with lots of shopping, restaurants and across from top rated hospital. In addition, has physicians that come on site with Xray available. I also appreciate the excursions each week for shopping and church.

I am a resident at Brookdale Lake Orienta. The managing staff is very knowledgeable of procedures and requirements to make sure that residents' needs and safety are met. The nurses, med techs and CNA's are well trained and as responsive as possible under current difficult staffing conditions. I feel the ratio of medical staff to residents could be higher to be responsive faster. Housekeeping is excellent. I never see trash in the hallways or shared areas and room trash is cleared at least once a day, sometimes twice. There are no foul odors and the carpets and flooring are kept very clean. The linen and laundry service is excellent. The laundry rooms and equipment are kept immaculate and working for residents who do their own laundry. Food service is very good. They have a nice selection of food available in and outside of dining hours and available room service, also. Special occasions such as new resident and birthday luncheons are done well, as well as special dinners for Family Nights and holidays. Many activities are offered to keep the residents busy, challenged and entertained. There is limited driver service for doctor appointments, bus trips to local stores and restaurants, also various escorted outings to local museums, parks, theaters, fund raisers, etc. There are swimming, pool and chair exercise sessions, arts and crafts, games, billiards, an in-house movie theater, a beauty salon, various artists and entertainers and groups that visit the residents almost every week. This is a fun facility. The staff keeps the families advised and encourages them to visit and participate with their loved one. The sales staff worked with me to get me moved in as quickly and less stressful as possible. The administration staff is very happy to explain the billing charges and make any adjustments required. Overall, of the facilities I reviewed and considered, Brookdale Lake Orienta met most of my requirements and has exceeded my expectations. I have also made a new set of fabulous friends in residents and staff and I am ready to remain here for rest of my life.

The food is not that great and the service in the dining room is even worse. Residents are left waiting 45 minutes to an hour to be served. They don't clean their rooms weekly as stated in their materials.On the surface, it's a beautiful location on the inside and overlooks a lake.

They offered assisted living, and independent living. My loved one needed social interaction. She also had caregivers. The way they managed things was terrible. The marketing is wonderful, it's positive, but how they run things is not good. They were more set up to provide care for assisted living. Brookdale had a social dining hall, and nursing available. They had activites on the calendar. After dinner, they did not have a lot activites, although it was listed on the calendar. The chef was a wonderful guy but the menu was rigid.

The people at Brookdale Lake Orienta definitely care. The staff is very friendly and easy to talk to. I felt that the services available are worth the money, and I feel like I am leaving my mother-in-law in good hands. They had a lot to offer. They have 24-hour staff should there be an emergency. The dining is open from the morning until 6p, The meals are at specific times but she can get something to snack on when she wants. She says the food is good. She is also very happy with all of the activities and outings offered. They do not require you to move to another room in the building should she need a different tier of care unless it is memory care. They are part of the Brookdale chain and have communities all over the US. Should we need to move we can take her with us to another Brookdale. My most significant complaint is that they do not have enough office staff. Either that or the office staff do not communicate well or have a good system in place for passing information. It is difficult for us to get requests taken care of, like extra keys or maintenance, and there are times when it seems that one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. We have received different answers to questions from different people. That being said, I feel that the staff cares a lot about their people, and that is what made the difference to us when we made our decision to go with Brookdale Lake Orienta.

The overall experience was very good. This activities is good. The value for the money is fair. We picked this community because of the location.

The person I reached out to about the community, they went above and beyond with information and was able to answer all of the questions we had. One part that was confusing was the concierge service, and orientation wording. This was the same thing that they provide the residents; however, it is called two different things by the community and the company that provides the orientation to the residents. Overall it has been an okay experience for us. There has been a learning curve with the terminology used by the community for my loved ones and family.

They were super supportive of my mom and dad. They are super flexible and helpful, as well as really understanding about how to help people integrate and feel at home within their community.

majority of staff is good, the facility is lovely and my loved one loves it. the problem is their complete disorganization in respect to services and administration - the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing most days. my aunt has been there for a short time, and they never told us that the doctor they had assigned her to wasn't accepting her insurance, and they gave the insurance incorrectly. they were also charging for services that no one was providing, and even after we told them about these issues - it still hasn't been corrected. it's taking a while from an administrative standpoint to find out who is responsible, as it seems like no one wants to take accountability. my loved one really likes the sense of comradery and the activities. from her perspective, she is getting frustrated with their lack of organization, but she doesn't want to move. the staff who work with the residents are great, its administration who has the issues.

This is a good community and they have a lot of activities. The food however, is not really good and a lot of the residents complain about to much pepper on the food. Sometimes the nurses miss medications and we have some concerns .

The community is what we expected. The staff is very friendly, and they do a great job with the care they provide. The food is good, and they have activities available for the residents. I would recommend this community to others based on my experience.

We chose Brookdale Lake Orienta because there were personal recommendations made to us and it is also close to family members. The staff send newsletters for updates and I get phone calls if there is any question or concerns with my mom. Overall it has been a good experience and I would recommend them.
