Brookdale of Norman, Oklahoma has a wonderful staff and facility. Mom is 89 years old. She has lived with me almost 5 years since my Dad passed away. In April she fell and fractured two vertebrae in her back. She had surgery, then went to skilled nursing and Regan. Her back got infected. She went back to the hospital for 2 weeks antibiotics and then went to hospital rehab. She went one night to Brookdale, wouldn’t call for help and fell and broke her hip. Once again she went to skilled nursing and rehab. Once all that was healed, she was now wheelchair bound. She went back to Brookdale. While she was in facilities, the nurses from Brookdale visited her in rehab. Once back at Brookdale, all the staff quickly learned momma’s particulars to keep her safe. They accompany her around the facility for activities, including her in as many things as possible. She has some dementia but is very personable and loves visiting with the other residents. Very clean, well kept facility. Im picky!... Read more

Staff are friendly. The facility is a bit dated. They could improve by increasing the staffing and modernize the rooms. I would only recommend this facility based on the residents needs.

The nurses are amazing. Some of the staff are really exceptional. I've received calls anytime there was a concern, and I could always get ahold of someone if I needed to. I would absolutely recommend Brookdale Norman to others, it was a great choice for us. Oh, and the cook, [name removed], was amazing!

They really don't like the food. Sometimes I'm told that they will check on mom when I have dad out for an appointment and they don't do it. They do say everyone here is very nice

The main reason we chose Brookdale Norman was because it was near our family. Mom is also able to stay after she declines further and will not end up in a nursing home. It's a small place. They do try to please the residents and accommodate them as best as they can. The staff works very hard. I would recommend Brookdale Norman to others.

This was a good community. My loved one had prior experience with another community and choose that community.
I'm just a friend of a resident, but everything has been working out wonderful. The very first thing we noticed when we stepped was the cleanliness and the community was odor free. Everyone is very friendly, nice, and helpful. My friend is adjusting to Brookdale Norman wonderfully.
Unfortunately our loved one was not able to stay as long as we would of hoped due to her health, but we were very happy with our experience. The staff members were loving, caring, and they related to all the residents as individuals. Before our loved moved in, she would come to play piano with a church group and she always said the residents looked happy and like they were having fun She was not able to eat the meals but when we would come to visit which was quite often they would bring the meals to us.

We chose Brookdale Norman because of the conversations we had with the staff before we made a decision, they answered all our questions thoroughly and the location is also ideal for family. They call us regularly with any updates so they are good with communication. We have been really pleased with them and would recommend to others.

There were some adjustments when she first moved in, but it is like a small community and they are are one of the best we had found, and I looked at dozens! It’s kept clean and cozy and there is always someone to watch over them and provide the services needed. Given the State rating on a national scale ( 3rd worst in USA for elder care and care for the poor) they have stepped up and provided a safe and comforting environment.

This place is constantly understaffed and only cares about money. Most of the residents require way more care than they are legally allowed to give, therefore they just go without the care needed most of the time.

Enjoyed visiting with [removed] place had a very homey warm feeling, had a smaller feel. Most people had been working there for a long time. Have a space opening up in March. Seem to have plenty of activities and seem very hospitable. Think mom could be happy here.

The Brookdale Norman is a very nice place. My loved one is not completely acclimated to the place yet, but she is getting there. The place is really top drawer. The staff is great, they are very cooperative and eager to help with no complaints. The meals are good, my loved one was used to being her on cook but the food looks fine to me.

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Norman 9.2 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
