No place is perfect, but the staff at Brookdale does their best, but she fell a lot!! And several times there were no staff available to see what happened. It's very expensive and I wish there were some other options for seniors, but every option is expensive. I appreciate the staff's love for my mom & we were all sad at the end of June when we had to move her to a skilled nursing center. I personally would have loved a facility that was trained in dementia & Alzheimer's care using Dr Dale Bredesen's technique, but nothing was available that we could find near where my mom lives. I hope in the future there will be more facilities trained in his program to aid families like ours.

My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale Lexington and most everything was great for her at this facility. The move-in process was efficient. The facility was very clean. The staff were very good. The head nurse even accepted phone calls on his mobile phone after hours and on weekends. The other residents seemed content. My loved one said that the food was okay, I never tried it. Overall, I would recommend Brookdale Lexington to others.

The only real negative we have is the cost, it is about 15% to 20% too expensive. However based on the experience we have had so far with Brookdale Lexington, we would recommend them to other families who are looking for a place for their loved ones. They take great care of my dad. They help him with his daily needs. They take them on field trips. Interact with the patients. They are caring and very patient.

I don't know much on the activities when we arrived. But they have a new coordinator, so that's good, but I don't know how the activities are going to be able to rate them. The staff are great with people relations and I appreciate that they really try to accommodate the needs in the memory care unit.

The staff members keep the community very clean and they do have a ton of different activities going on all the time. When our loved one first moved in she always raved about the meals, but given the circumstances and some supply chain issues the meals and dining service can be a little bit of a hit or miss. However we would absolutely recommend the community to others

I would recommend this community to others for their loved ones. It is a very homey, safe place for a loved one. Some of the activities available include group exercise, and limited options for the residents to choose from.

We had a wonderful tour with Brookdale Lexington and found it to be a very nice place. Unfortunately the location was just to far from my home.
The cleanliness of the community is pretty good and the care services are pretty good as well. The meals and dining service overall is good but they could get a more diverse menu with different meal choices.

When we are able to visit the community it is very clean and just lovely. Our loved one has never experience anything negative there, we are very happy with our decision. The staff team is very attentive, caring and pleasant to work with. Our loved one is kind of on a funky diet, but she still says the food is very good and the staff have been able to be really attentive and accommodating to her diet and keeping up with it. Before coming to this community, our loved one was very closed off and almost like a recluse, however since coming to Brookdale she has never experience so much stimulation, she is constantly being exposed to so much creativity.

I talked to the staff several times a day and they were always responsive to my questions, and or concerns. The were excellent, and the doctors on staff were good to call and let me know what was going on with my loved one in the memory unit. My loved one was reasonable happy here. The staff was attached to my loved one and vice versa. The community accommodated my loved one for meals and the care.

They had a great deal when deciding on a community for my mom and it was a substantial difference. She is doing pretty well, she is still adjusting. She tells me everybody is being really nice and helpful. i have been trying to get her to participate in some activities that is available for the residents. The meals are good and she does has options to choose from if the meals is not wanted. Some of her choices are soup and salad. As far as I am concerned it is the best place for my mom.

This looked like a nice community when I visited. The food was ok and the staff were friendly. They do allow pets and offer some nice amenities. We were just not sure this was the right community for my loved one.

During my tour of the Brookdale Lexington, I noticed that it was a very large community. Also, all of the patients with different levels of care were all mixed together. We were looking for something smaller and more personable.

My mom has been to a few other facilities during the 2014 calendar year and since moving into the Carolina House and especially having my dad with her has made a Great Difference in not only her attitude but in her health as well!! The folks at the Carolina House seem to take a personal interest in my parents daily well being and that has made a Huge difference as well, my family (siblings) really appreciate the time and care given to our mom and dad, they love it there and speak about it often. Our whole family visits them on a regular basis so we see how well the facility is kept up and how welcome you feel when you are there, Thank You to the Staff at the Carolina House!!!

A Place for Mom has scored Brookdale Lexington 9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
