At Brookdale Leawood State Line, residents have access to enriching memory care programming, dementia-friendly activities, specialized menus, and a plethora of perks and amenities. To fully simplify your days, staff members regularly assist with meal preparation, transportation, housekeeping, and personal care. The community uses two memory care programs to provide well-rounded, person-centered programming. The first program is called Clare Bridge, and is an exclusive brand of dementia care that provides residents with six daily activities that encourage the use of their current skills and abilities. The second program — the Solace program — provides additional support to residents in the late stages of dementia. It offers assistance with grooming and includes specialized activities that involve music and aromatherapy.
Regardless of your care needs, you can rest assured your safety is a priority. Staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency. An alert system and keypad entries are also used for added security. This purpose-built community is designed with residents’ needs in mind, featuring easy-to-navigate floor plans, soothing wall colors, and large circular paths that safely lead residents to communal areas. These details allow residents to thrive in a calming and secure environment.

we toured this community and it was a nice tour. They answered all of our questions and was very helpful
I like how they treat their people. They have a general confidence and calm demeanor. No matter how bad my loved one's outbursts, they manage to calm her down and make her feel better when even I can't anymore. They do that very well. My loved one has improved immensely in the short time that she's been there. They've really worked with her. She can be difficult at times, but they've managed to work around that, and she is so much better than she was when she went in.

Our interaction with the people at Brookdale was positive, the director was very nice and very attentive. Our loved one had a lot of friends that would come and visit and they were very accepting of that. This community was very homey and kept clean. when our loved one passed away the hospice care, particularly the attending nurse was very attentive and the care services were very accommodating. The only negative we had was when our loved one passed away, his name was not put up on their board in the hallway.

All the workers know residents by name. They provide personalized care and attention. All are very helpful, caring, and understanding. I have enjoyed meeting many of the other residents. My Mom is always happy, joins in activities, and likes the food. Their activities director is awesome!!!!!

The other morning while visiting my mother, I over heard a conversation between one of the caregivers. One was stating she was written up for something in which sounded like retaliation against her for calling corporate. Although I was ease dropping, it sounded a lot like prejudice is formed with the Health and wellness director and discrimination from the executive director. If only this poor woman new what was actually happening to her illegally. So now my concern is with my mothers care. If they are treating their employees in such manner, how are they treating my mother? The personality of the director of nursing is not very exhilarating. Compared to the overly ecstatic Executive director. The caregivers seem to not be so happy. The residents are always asleep in the wheelchairs. Obviously the turn over rate is high because one time I had to wait 10 minutes for someone to answer the room call! The meals are mediocre. I’m trying to prevent my mother from losing weight. She’s a small woman. In the evenings the food looks like slop. I have been looking for other places to move my mother. We will be leaving this community very soon!

My mother has been living at Brookdale Leawood State Line for over two years and her health has declined dramatically while living there, far more rapidly than should be expected. She became extremely dehydrated and developed a very serious, life-threatening urinary tract infection (UTI) which went unrecognized and untreated for several months. The food they serve the residents is deplorable: extremely high sugar content, industrialized, processed, loaded with chemical/toxic additives. I am not my mother's guardian but if I had been so I would have removed her from this horrible place months ago. A big problem there is that they cannot find any local people who will work there for the low wages and lack of benefits, so they recruit workers from elsewhere who generally stay for short periods of time. The employee turnover is staggering. The staff is dangerously untrained, a few employees have mistreated my mother. WARNING: DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE IN THIS FACILITY. The place is clean and nicely-decorated, but the care is abysmal. Often, especially in the evenings/nighttime, there are so few workers that the place looks like a ghost town. And what workers ARE present are often in the break room, ignoring the residents. The internet is replete with complaints about similar problems with Brookdale facilities across the U.S. Brookdale is a profit-driven private corporation that sacrifices care of an extremely vulnerable population for to maximize. Numerous lawsuits and consumer complaints have been filed against Brookdale. Peruse the internet and you will shocked at the number.

The staff have been taking great care of my husband during his respite stay! Though he has had a little trouble sleeping at night, the staff are very accommodating and are they do what they can to make him feel as comfortable as possible. I have no complaints about his stay!

I had a good nice tour of this facility. The community looked nice, and well maintained. It was a pleasant experience. The staff friendly, and nice to my family , and I. Everything went well, but unfortunately this was not the community for us.

For the most part I had a good tour of the community. It was a decent experience. The community looked pretty well-kept. The staff I met was courteous and nice. Everyone was kind and friendly to my family and I. There were many factors that played into where to move my mother to. This is a decent community, but not the one for my mother and her needs.

My husband has a 24 hour caretaker because he is fall victim. I feel that when their buzzard is rung the staff are not coming to his room promptly because he has a 24 hour caretaker. A little has improved but not completely satisfied. He shares a bathroom and at times it is not the best cleaning. For the most part mt husband enjoys the meals, there are some he won't eat. He has Physical and Occupational Therapy that the staff arrange for me and they come 2-3 times a week. The residents are able to exercise, play quiz games and join in more activities.

I feel very blessed to have found Brookdale Leawood State Line. I know the name sounds a little rough but its a fantastic place. The director or the GM sounds like she takes true ownership of her job and truly cares about the people here.

I think they need to improve on the activities that they have for the residents there. It was things on TV and about music and that was it. My father personally needs rehab and I would expect something more from a place that charges that much a month. The level of services that my father received, i'm just not happy with some of the treatment that they said they offered. Overall I would have to say that I feel comfortable with my father there, I just think it needs improvement.

We really only stayed a very short time and we were really disappointed. There were a lot of things I wasn't comfortable with. The facility was old and I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness. There were residents who would wander in and out of other residents rooms, and there have been incidents of urination and defecation in other peoples rooms. I know that they have dementia and Alzheimer's, but they need more supervision. I couldn't get in at night, there didn't seem to be anyone at the front desk. They made so many promises during the orientation, they said they would go on outings and do activities, and they never took her out of the room except for meals. I was just very disappointed.

They've done an excellent job at Clare Bridge so far! It's a very nice looking community, and the staff have all been very friendly and caring. It's a smaller community, all on one floor, which I thought would be a much better setting for my loved one. Since it is a smaller community the staff really get a chance to get to know each resident, and they seem to take a genuine interest in each person as an individual.

I think it's a really nice place. She is happy there and we are happy with her there. The food could be improved, sometimes it's adequate, it's okay. We liked the size of the rooms, they were nice and roomy. The staff is excellent, here. The cost may go up, but they are still a good place. They are pretty good about attending to her needs, she needs finger foods, and they find a way with whatever they are eating to make it a finger food.
