Mom moved into Brookdale in late August. I have never heard her ask to go “home”. They keep her clean, which is hard because she’s incontinent. The facility is clean. The people are nice. The meals seem petite by my standard but she doesn’t say she’s hungry. How many calories can you really burn when you sleep 3/4 of the day? I know the staff has their hands full with keeping her clean. She was a challenge for us, that’s why we opted to seek out a nursing home. She was hitting and kicking my dad and me changing her pants and cleaning her bottom. I feel that she’s safe there and that gives us peace.... Read more

The entrance to Brookdale is very nice and welcoming. The staff is very accommodating and pleasant. Each member of the facility did all they could to answer questions of concern. Brookdale is very clean and all the rooms, cafeteria, and other amenities for the patients were wonderful. The staff has the best interest of all who reside there. I would recommend Brookdale to anyone who has a need for this type of facility.

I toured Brookdale Latrobe during my search for a Memory Care facility for my loved one. This facility was very nice! The cleanliness and friendliness were great. The atmosphere was great. This is definitely a Memory Care facility. However, it was beyond my means.
It's a nice facility. Although repairs to a faulty door lock and to walls after a freak thunderstorm downpour causing water damage were slow to be repaired. We really liked the administrative staff ([name removed], [name removed]) and especially the Clare Bridge Program Manager ([name removed]), but she resigned when we were moving my mom out, which would have been a concern. [name removed] in particular saved the day at a crisis point with my dad wanting to spontaneously take my mom home when he wasn't dealing well at all with my mom's condition and the change. The attending staff were friendly and seemed to be doing a good job, although understaffed at times. We moved my mom out primarily because of the financial model and high cost. My mom is in a place now with a benevolent fund which guarantees her care through the stages of Alzheimer's even if my parents run short on money eventually.

The nursing staff is very good but there are just not enough of them to care for all the residents in the memory care unit. My family member sometimes has to wait up to 30 minutes for a nurse to arrive and provide assistance with activities of daily living. They are so caring and supportive, they just need more of them. The accommodations are wonderful with the private rooms. It is very safe and always a pleasant atmosphere for my family member. Room cleanliness could stand a bit of improvement. There are many days that the room has food and dirt on the floors. Also nurses need to assist with personal care more routinely. I've found my family member has gone days without teeth being brushed. My family member doesn't remember and just needs the brush and paste provided as its in a locked cabinet for safety. The communication between myself, the nurses and the physicians is not adequate as it could be. Often times my requests for the physician are not passed along or are incorrect when done. My family member is adjusting very well to Brookdale and I do recommend it highly. I've experienced other care facilities and this one by far rates above them. Simple changes could push my recommendation to a 5 overall.

We were unable to care for dad. It was a very hard decision, but [name removed], [name removed], [name removed], and [name removed] made our decision to move dad to Brookdale much easier. It was a great decision and dad is content and well cared for. The nursing staff and aides are caring loving people. Thank you to all for everything you do to make dad happy & safe.
I love Brookdale Latrobe! My friends mom is there. It's always clean and bright. There are several activities everyday for residents. Transportation to appointments and lots of caring staff. No shortage of staff. They work their butts off to keep everyone safe & happy. Hats off to the staff!
It is such a wonderful place. I was not sure and I didn't want to put mom in a home worrying about care. I am so glad that I picked Brookdale Latrobe! She seemed to like it right away. She has dementia, and they have activities all day. She made friends immediately. She is at home there. The staff is wonderful, you could not have better people taking care of your loved one. They are not just there for a paycheck. They are there because they care. They are family to your loved one and to you.
I placed my mother here and this is a great place for your loved one. I would go here if I needed to. They have activities like games, bingo, entertainment, mass on the weekends, knitting group and more for the residents to do.

Previously, the community has been very clean. The staff is very friendly. Most of the time, the care that they are providing is pretty good. They do offer activities for the residents and we have gone with my mother to several of them and they have been very good. Compared to other communities for what we get, we do think Brookdale Latrobe is reasonably priced.

The biggest plus is the staff, they know all the residents by name, they know all the family by name. They are taking good care of my family. Room sizes are a little small. Outdoor space is average. They have an courtyard. We were told there were more activities then there ended up being. My parents are pretty active and would like more activities. I feel it is clean and I feel my parents are safe.

Visited last week for my mom, even though they say it’s under construction the place was very clean and orderly. The staff were so friendly; met with sales, and the administrator spent a lot of time with me too (didn’t have that experience anywhere else). You knew they really cared and loved their job.

My mother in law is doing well at this community. She thinks the activities are ok. The only issue is the food as it does not always taste good and there is not a large variety of choices. The staff are very friendly and good. They keep the community clean and I would recommend it.

I had a good tour of this community. It appeared to be well maintained. The community looked nice and clean. The staff was kind and informative. It was a nice experience. There were many factors that played into where to place my aunt. Like location, and this community was just a little to far for me to travel too.

It's been good so far. It's a nice place. I don't have any complaints at this point. Everyone is really friendly, and they take good care of my loved one. This seemed to be in the same price range as other similar places in the area.

Having to search for a place for my dad and never had to before was a little traumatic for me however living near Emeritus at Latrobe brought familiarity. It turns out that it was a good thing because ever since my first visit there to see if it would work out for us I was relaxed that Emeritus At Latrobe would be just fine! The patience of the entire staff, the knowledge of the people in charge and the food...well let me tell you the food served to the residents is just fantastic. I have had the luxury to choose Emeritus after one visit and I am glad I did. For a limited care facility, Emeritus At Latrobe has been a God Send. From activities, to food, to care Emeritus At Latrobe (now Brookdale) has proven themselves to me and my dad.
