Embrace purposeful memory care in a secure, family-oriented environment at Brookdale Kenosha. Whether seniors are in the early or late stages of dementia, their unique needs will be met through personalized services.
Brookdale Kenosha offers two distinct approaches to memory care — the Clare Bridge and Solace programs. The Clare Bridge program was created more than 30 years ago. Through this program, residents receive gentle guidance and can participate in six daily activities designed to promote the use of their current skills. These interactive opportunities often involve a combination of mental and physical stimulation, such as dancing, brain games, walking, and more. The Solace program provides additional support to those in the late stages of dementia. It includes extra time to help with daily grooming and also incorporates sensory activities by utilizing music and aromatherapy.
Security is another top priority for Brookdale’s team. The community features industry-leading techniques like color-coding, circular pathways, and other way-finding cues. Additionally, secured entrances and exits, an emergency alert system, and keypad entries are also in use. Best of all, the staff is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week to be alerted to an emergency.
In addition to the care and safety features provided, residents...

Brookdale has given Mom a warm, welcoming, clean, bright and cheerful environment as she has transitioned out of the home where she lived for over 50 years. Although this sort of change is never easy, the Brookdale staff has made it as smooth and comfortable for Mom as possible. It’s evident that the staff members really care about her and her welfare. The facility itself is immaculate, attractive, and filled with light. It looks more like a fine hotel than a care home. Thank you, Brookdale, for all that you do for your residents and for us, their families!

The facility is very homey,we have a family members mother here. Since the last year and a half I have noticed improvements here, it says alot about the staff. I also noticed that they keep the residents busy with activities during the day I believe that is a good thing.

Brookdale Kenosha is a clean facility and my loved one's apartment (as we call it) is clean. The nurse in charge daily is on top of everything. She is amazing. Brookdale Kenosha has been very accommodating and are willing to answer my questions anytime. They keep my loved one busy most of the time and she is enjoying the activities. I feel all of the staff that I have met truly care about the residents and you have to be a special person to deal with the things that they do.

I had to move my loved one out because it was too big of a place for her to handle. She's doing much better now at a smaller community. The staff were pretty good. They really tried to help the best they could. But it cost me a lot of outside money to hire additional care during the short time she was there.

Recently our mother moved into Brookdale as she now required full time care. The facility is well maintained and staff has been kind and caring, not only to Mom but us as well making this transition much easier. We couldn't be more pleased.

Someone in the Brookdale Kenosha facility authorized my mother be put in a wheelchair which both the ER doctor and the physical therapist said improper use of a wheelchair could be why my mothers leg became contracted. I’m guessing it made their life easier because my mom walked constantly. She fell quite a few times. Not one person in that facility informed me of my moms contracted leg. It wasn’t until one of the trips to the ER and it was discovered there. I had a meeting with the director back in [date removed] and she was going to do some “ investigating” and get back with me . To this day I have not heard one word from her nor will she answer any email. The fact that the director and the RN won’t tell me who authorized the use of the wheelchair is purely inhumane. My mothers charges doubled what they were because she could no longer stand and take care of her personal needs. I didn’t even get into cleanliness (of both the facility and the residents), the lack of staff…

I go in to see my friends mom every week and I must say, I am very impressed with this community. My friend tells me how much she enjoys living there and how there things to do and people to talk with. She says she is happy and the care is top notch.

Brookdale Kenosha has such a "homey" atmosphere. my tur went well and plan to place my mom there in a month. Such a warm, welcoming environment and there was so much for the residents to do. All residents that I saw looked well taken care of.

I visit with my friends dad often at Brookdale Kenosha. When I go to see him, staff is friendly, very attentive and seem to love what they do on a day to day basis. They are very giving and loving. The residents enjoy coming by to speak with me, they look well cared for, groomed and enjoying life. There is an activity person that puts on great programs for all of the residents to engage in. The food smells delicious and looks amazing. Very happy with my friends choice to put her dad here. Everyone is receptive to his needs and they really know how to manage people suffering from dementia. The environment is very loving.

I can sleep at night knowing my mother is well taken care of. Even with COVID stressors and staff shortages I knew she was given the best care possible. Freedom of worry is a game changer.

FULL REVIEW ON GOOGLE: My grandparents are both mobile, but are struggling with dementia. Brookdale had a hard time providing for their circumstances, and did not follow their contract which states that Brookdale will provide in writing the changes to the care plan and costs associated with additional services needed. Instead, they left a voicemail stating they can’t provide care for my grandparents, move out within 30 days, and there would be an additional fee of almost [amount removed] per day for my grandmothers care (when one of the symptoms is wandering and decline in memory). It’s clear that the motive was not driven by compassion, but profits. It seems like this place wants individuals that are incapacitated and immobile so they do not have to put time nor effort into them. If they understood the complexity of dementia, they would understand the distress individuals undergo and would create a safe, welcoming, understanding environment, and resources.

Response from Brookdale Kenosha
October 18, 2021We take your comments seriously and are sorry to hear you feel this way. The care and well-being of our residents are our top priority. We encourage you to reach out to your grandparents' responsible party to discuss your concerns further. We have also forwarded your feedback to our management team for their review.
Everything was great moving in, everyone we met with were very nice and friendly. However depending on the time frame and the staff you met with determined the friendliness. The care service started to lack immediately. We pulled our loved one out pretty quickly after moving in and the front office demeanor went from being extremely friendly to the completely opposite. We also had to pay out the rest of the month.

Our staff is committed to providing the highest-quality service and care for each resident and we hope you will contact our local management team to further discuss any concerns you may have.
We have only been able to see our loved ones room, and the cleanliness was immaculate. When we are able to get a hold of the staff members they are very friendly. They do call us with updates regarding our loved one condition, things she is accepting and rejected and how she is adjusting to the community. We do see a list of activities they offer but we are just not sure how much they are doing or if our loved one is participating.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
