My father was full of trepidation when he was approached with the idea of moving from his little ADU to Brookdale. A week later he was in and fairly settled. He was so happy and even sounded fabulous when I called to check in. He found friends and loved eating meals with other residents. His diet is varied and he reports that the food is great! He recently had a little stay in the hospital and one of the caregivers stopped by - it cheered him up so much. He couldn’t wait to get “home”.... Read more

Staff seemed friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean, and they seemed to take care of messes quickly. Kept his apartment nice. Staff all seemed very nice. They took very good care. My Father in law said the meals were good and they offered choices. My father in law didn't really get involved in the activities at Brookdale It's hard to judge value/cost...there's no getting around that it's expensive...I guess upon further reflection the size of the room (studio) compared to the cost would be my biggest complaint...but overall it was a great place...just not a good fit for my Father in law

They refuse to follow the Dr. orders even though it is a task they are trained to do. The transportation bus is still not in service, so I am paying them for a service, I am not receiving, with no date of starting again. Many other things.

Staff were not able to provide the services our loved ones were supposed to get. Communications between the staff and family were inadequate. Services, facilities and communications did not meet our family's expectations after glowing promises were made at the beginning. Family members were left to fill the gaps.

December 19, 2023Thank you for choosing Brookdale and taking the time to share your feedback. We would welcome an opportunity to discuss any concerns you may have and encourage you to contact our management team.
I picked this community because of the proximity to my house. Staff on all levels are caring, friendly and professional. Care of my mother has been good;staff apparently check in with her often. Meals are tasty with plenty of variety.

I toured this community and it was ok. Cleanliness and friendliness were good. I did notice that they seem to have more male residents than female, which I didn't think my loved one would prefer. Also, it felt a bit more like a nursing home environment than it did Assisted Living.
My Mom had COPD and was on oxygen 24/7. She died of respiratory failure while living at Brookdale. Later, I was reading her journal and discovered she complained to the nurse that it felt like her oxygen wasn't working and she was told that the machine probably needed servicing. No one at Brookdale helped her, they didn't take her oxygen saturation, they didn't call the medical supply company, they didn't set up an appointment for Mom to visit the pulmonologist. Also, they didn't call me so that I could come help. And when she worsened, she was sent to the emergency room in a taxi. They were very pleasant and accommodating when we were touring the place, but after Mom moved in, it felt like they did the bare minimum.

January 27, 2023We take your comments seriously and are committed to providing quality care and services to our residents and their families. Our management team has reviewed these concerns and we wish to assure you the safety and well-being of our residents is our top priority.
I toured this facility and it was ok. However, it felt very sales driven more than anything. The facility itself didn't feel very welcoming like we'd expected.
My 98 year old mother was in Brookdale Fairhaven after a hospital stay. The staff was great giving her needed care gaining weight and making transition. I liked the fact it was a small facility and I felt she was looked after very well since I live out of town. The staff always updated me on her situation. Thanks to Brookdale staff.

I enjoyed my tour of this property, everything was very well maintained and you could tell they where on top of there cleaning. The only thing I did not like was all they had available was one bedrooms studios. My uncle really needed a one bedroom suit so that he would be comfortable making the transition from a house to a smaller apartment.

Brookdale Fairhaven has been a good experience. My friend is there and she likes the cafeteria, it is nice and quiet. She likes the various activities they have there. She has Alzheimer's but it's not really bad yet. The staff is really nice. She is a vegetarian and the staff go out their way to give her nutritious food and accommodate her. I am really pleased with this facility.

I really like the place. It's very nice, very clean. The friendliness, this is why I picked the place. It's not the fanciest but the reason that I went with Emeritus is that the people really seem to care. These people are down to earth. Dad is not a fancy person. He doesn't need all that fancy stuff, in fact he's kind of out of sorts with it. The people here really talk to him and really care. That includes the cook! I really apreaciate that. The administrator is so nice. It's one floor so the people see each other and communicate.
