August 12, 2024Thank you so much! We love having you as a part of our Avista family, and are thrilled to hear that you are happy with your care with us!
I toured this facility and based on the tour, I would not recommend it. The residents just seemed miserable. It was very small, no diversity, no activities. It wasn't vibrant or welcoming. It honestly felt more like a place you would put someone who had no family or advocate and nowhere else to go.

September 13, 2022Hi, thank you for the feedback. We’re disappointed to see this, and if you have any details to share, feel free to give us a call at 1-844-365-4826 so we can better understand your experience. Thank you again! – Team Enlivant
I would recommend Louisa Place for someone who needs someone to care for their loved one. The care was very good, although they were a little short staffed at times so my father had to wait. That was not the caregivers fault, as they did the best they could with what they had. I also know it's tough in these times, especially being a caretaker myself. My main thing was they provided a lot of good care, but I do wish they had the capacity to be a little more timely.

The caregivers have made all efforts to make sure my father is taken care of. They genuinely care! I love the smaller atmosphere, it feels very homey. The facility is clean, and I appreciate everything is all on one level. The garden area is beautiful, and my father loves hearing and seeing all of the birds. There are always activities going on, and residents seem happy. I would highly recommend!

Despite high staff turnover the atmosphere is warm and friendly. The residents are treated caringly. There's lots of great activities and support.

There have been many issues at this facility due to constant turnover. But the ones who stay are compassionate, caring individuals, and the environment is intimate and homey. There are all kinds of activities run by a wonderful activities director who really connects with the residents. Being owned by a corporation is apparent—very high fees and an absentee landlord. They should treat their core employees well for how hard they work…they are stretched very thin from what I see.

We needed the care in the beginning and now my loved one does not need the care any longer. He also did not like the food. He liked the attention and being around the people. They also followed very good standards for covid also to keep the residents safe. He is happier in his own place but while we needed the help it worked. The staff were nice also they were good.
Always listen and reply or do as asked. Each new person has been great and show they care.

I've had some communication with the care staff. And I've been hainvg some issues with biling - I've sen things on the bill that wer enot on his care plan. They keep tellin gme that they're working on it. But they're not following through, or the refunds are not happening. We've had some outside home nursing that are providing services like showering assistance that Louisa Place then asks my loved one if he needs. And he's not aware which staff is asking and goes along with whoever is directing him. We're working on it with the main corporation for the company, and they said it's always difficult to get reufdns, but I'm not sure whyit wouls be that difficult. My loved one says he eats whatever they put in front of him, but tehey have made the offer that if there's osmething he wants to see on the enu . It seems pretty clean. THey do wash his sheets and his clothes. I'm a little worried about his bathroom area, but the water up here is really hard, so that could play a part. But geerally it loks very clean. With activities, maybe my loved one is a special circumstance since he's losing his vision and hearing, so he's not participaing because he can't see or hear things well enough. I've actually sent them a list of activities, and they are working on it. And they have a new activities director, but that just happened. I know things have been restricted due to Covid. My loved one is not a fan of the prizes for the games - so far it's just been candy. My loved one is pretty with it for his age, and the other residents Small facility, only about 20 peopl eright now, and of those 20, there's prbably only 2 other men,. I think that makes him feel isolated a little bit. There's some miscommunication with the care staff, nothing life threatening or anything. Just some issues with communication from management to tthe care staff to how that translates to actual care of the residents. For instance, they're supposed to watch my loved one take his medicine, because with his vision problems he could drop something and not know. My loved one says they're just asking him later in the day after he's already taken his meds. But they've told me he''s already taken them before they can get there. Just little things. And things are slowly getting ironed out. But the shower thing is getting frustrating for me.

From the very first week of my mother living there, things went down hill quickly. The manager in the facility left with no one to replace him, since that time they have either had temporary replacements or one permanent person who walked out a few months ago. She still has not been replaced. My mother needs assistance with medication, they have not had a full time nurse for almost a year. The nurse [name removed] became ill and passed away, it was months before they replaced her and when they did, she walked off the job one day. Since that time they keep saying they are interviewing but have not found a full time nurse. There was a wonderful cook who also walked off the job one day, only to be replaced by someone who did not make quality or tasty meals. The food is barely edible with no variety. Without notice in August the bill for the month went up over $800.00 without an explanation or a family meeting. If not for the $3500.00 deposit that we were required to pay at the time of signing, we would remove my mother. The COVID pandemic has only made things worse with little or no communication from the facility to the residents or family. We had high hopes for this place but at this point, can only hope for improvement. The staff do care for the residents, it seems as though the lack of management and the revolving door of staff have affected their morale which in turn affects the residents. Please make necessary changes. Hire people that will stay. The last manager that was there stayed in her office all day and did not seem personable or welcoming. It was a relief to see her go.

LOUISA PLACE used to be a nice place. Since ENLIVANT CORPORATION bought it, the downward spiral is evident. The staff is trying but the Management Style resembles that of a concentration camp. Using the COVID Virus to their advantage to control window visits, create rules that caused undue grief to families and residents, limit communication with staff similar to a “gag order” The residents are lonely and confused. Families are being priced out of the building having to relocate their loved one during a pandemic! Everything about this place is about squeezing more money out of the families. The caring, compassion and love that once existed is no longer exhibited at Louisa Place

September 2, 2020We are so saddened to see this. This place WAS amazing, During Corvid, Corporate brought in a Director to clean out the place. With no walking the halls, dinner was served in rooms and residents unable to walk out of their rooms. This place turned into a disaster and never once did corporate reach out to the residents family care givers. Informing them of the extra care is was taking to administer their normal care due to Covid. This took a huge toll on all residents. Instead they re-evaluated residents at their worse, without conference calls with family caregivers. Then presided to almost double their care rate with no notice. It is horrible what they did to residents that had resided there over 5 years. Buyer beware the welfare of its residents its not their top priority. Just the quick buck, this place did not help with the pandemic, they insisted on making the long term residents move. Also, because this had to be rushed due to the way they orchestrated this clean out. They insisted we move all her belongings thru the main lobby door and other residents. Which made no sense if you where trying to limit exposure with other residents.

When I came to Louisa Place I didn't know what to look for. The first thing I found when I moved into my room was a note on my door welcoming me home from the staff. The staff and people were great. The food was great. The whole building is nice and well kept and looks and smells great. The Executive Director was there for any questions or needs that I had and was always kind and nice. The whole staff was always great and so nice and caring to me.

We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
