Friendly, caring and helpful staff. I highly recommend Brookdale Brea.

Sometimes the maintenance can be slow to respond. There seems to be a nice variety of activities, but our family member does not take advantage of most of them. I wish the employees could encourage her more. The value for cost is hard to answer, it is a lot of money! One other comment, I really disliked how many lists I was evidently added to. So many spam/unwanted emails! Not appreciated!

A small and caring community. Mom has made many friends since she's been there. It seems much more intimate than the other places I looked at. When the saleswoman walked me around the building the very first time she greeted every single person by name. I wanted Mom to have that kind of personal experience.

When our mom was no longer able to live on her own we knew we needed to make a decision. We contacted A Place for Mom and by the afternoon we had several places recommended to us. After doing thorough research we decided Brookdale Brea was the place for Mom. We are so happy with our decision. She is so happy there. Everyone is so nice. It’s not too big so she doesn’t get lost and she has acclimated so well. This was a Great Decision for Mom.

Brookdale Brea is a warm and friendly community. Everyone is nice there. The staff and residents are welcoming and helpful. I can tell that the management really cares about my loved ones wellbeing. We are glad we chose Brookdale Brea for our loved one.

We moved our mom to Brookdale Brea from a new community near by several months ago and it was the best decision we ever made. We were overwhelmed with having to move mom again but the community she was at was not meeting moms needs. [name removed] helped make this process so easy for us. Now mom has the care and socialization she was needing. Mom had a stroke in 2021 and is very high care. The care staff here is attentive and caring. She has made friends and feels at home. The community has a warm friendly feel and when we visit we feel welcomed and comfortable. Moving mom out of her home initially to a community that fell short of her needs was defeating, but things changed for the better when we made the move to Brookdale. We are extremely grateful to the all the staff for caring for mom the way she deserves.

This is a great community! Very active residents and staff that goes above and beyond. [name removed] and [name removed] are two are my favorite people in the world. My mom has lived here for over 3 years and I explain how happy my family and I are at the care she receives. If you are looking for a community for your loved one, BREA is the place to go!

We picked Brookdale because it was close to us and we could visit our father regularly. Also, we received some recommendations from nurses. I would recommend Brookdale but strongly suggest the family closely monitor their loved ones. There is not enough staff to watch the residents and room cleanliness is not good.Yes I would recommend to others but with the caveat that they watch their loved one closely.

I currently live at Brookdale Brea and everything has been mostly very good for me here so far. The housekeeping is good. The family/resident needs to ask questions. Sometimes they forget to tell you the days for a shower, if needed, or days for the room cleaning and laundry. it's usually done well. There is always someone to help. The food is very good. They really want to help. I do recommend Brookdale Brea.

My mom has lived at Brookdale Brea for 3 years and we couldn’t be happier! She loves the food! There’s lots of variety and choices. They have a lot of activities that are educational, exciting, thoughtful and enriching. Their outings are also well thought out and planned. The caregivers and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. I would recommend this community to anyone who is looking for a community that cares!

Overall positive. She is still adjusting, but not always happy about being there. She could use more encouragement from the staff. When it comes to the cleanliness, she commented she's not sure he was very thorough because he was so fast. She said her bed wasn't changed, but she might have made it up so might have "looked" like it was already changed? She sees spots in carpet. She says they don't always follow through when they say they will do something? Always pleasant with us. She always complements the food!! She's beginning to participate in a few things. She doesn't like to go upstairs„. Prefers the exercise when led by a person. Appreciate the veterans discount, but still quite expensive. We think she is safe and well cared for.

Brookdale Brea has some great caregivers, but unfortunately the management is poor. They do not reveal that each service is an extra charge. For examples, showers cost $[removed] each time etc. There was a lack of transparency on that part. I will say, the rooms are very nice. Overall I would still recommend this facility to others looking.

Mom really likes Brookdale Brea. Others looking for a place - be sure to ask a lot of questions on the financial responsibilities including any extra charges for any equipment they may need to have, like oxygen. The main reason we went with Brookdale was because of the cost mom has for little income and we have to help out financially. The overall care is amazing. My big concern was the cleanliness when looking.

The staff culture at Brookdale Brea is very very friendly and focused on the happiness of the residents. It made the transition for my mother fairly easy.

Brookdale Brea has a ton of different activities for the residents there - there is plenty of opportunities for them to get involved. We aren't sure of all the in house activities they have, but we do get a print out newsletter and there is a bi variety. They do take scent roads trips, they go to Hobby Lobby and different shopping stores. Based on our experience so far with Brookdale Brea we have already recommend this community to others and we will continue to do so.

We picked thsi community because, it was close to home. Too expensive. I needed them to make my loved one go to activities and they would not. They ended being alone a lot of the day.

It's good value for the money, although it's costly. We picked this community because of the location, it was near other familly members, and the closest community to my loved ones doctors. They are very helpful with, understanding the transitioning of going to the doctor. Overall, it has been a good experience.
