Brookdale Altamonte Springs

I chose Brookdale because we could get a 2 bedroom apartment. There is a kitchenette provided, so I am able to cook when I want to. The room sizes are very adequate for two people. Most of the time, the vegetables are overcooked and mushy and sometimes the meat is too soft. The breakfast is good and the entrees are 50% of the time okay. I do understand that they have to prepare food that will suit the majority. The menu is balanced. My favorite part about Brookdale is if I need help with my husband, staff is always available.

Wow, what a great place for my mom! After 3 months in and out of hospitals and rehab facilities, I've gotten a good taste of a poor facility and a great facility, and those in between. I have been so impressed with Brookdale Altamonte so far and am so happy I chose to move my 83 year old mom there. The place is clean, it's nicely decorated, and looks "upscale." I'm impressed with [name removed], the Exec Director. He truly seems to care about the residents and committed to his job. I've even seen him in there on Saturdays and Sundays when I went to visit my mom. The staff is attentive, always responding to my mom's page within 5-7 minutes, and they are pleasant about it. They don't seem bothered like so many of the staff I experienced at other facilities. I've been pleasantly surprised at how many activities are available, and happy that they really encourage the residents to get out of their rooms, participate in the community and stay active. My wife worked as a therapist for many years in geriatric environments and she too has been very impressed as well, so that says a lot.

My friend lives here and really enjoys it. They have caring staff and are always attentive every time I visit. Thursdays are a good time to visit, so you can enjoy happy hour and music.

My Dad was a resident here for 2 years. The staff were tentative and would always call me with any concerns. I know he enjoyed happy hour and the card games they would play. Overall, a good experience.

It was tough to leave me home, but well worth the move. I enjoy all the compliments I receive on my plants and holiday decorations. The staff are always willing to lend a helping hand. It's nice to not have to worry anymore.

If you can't live at home, it's the next best thing. I love my apartment and the fact that you can decorate the outside too. A studio is all the room a single person needs. The staff is very helpful and always check to see how I'm doing. I enjoy going to the movies every night and being a member of the movie committee.

We toured about a month ago with [Name removed]. He was very helpful and answered all our questions. He Invited us for lunch which was very good. The staff was very friendly too. We are definitely going to consider Brookdale at Altamonte Springs,

I visited Brookdale Altaminte Springs as we are shopping around for my sister in law. I found the facility to be clean, staff friendly and rooms adequate. I am concerned about the security on the ground floor as residents could easily leave through the glass doors and know one would know. Will definitely consider it when the time comes.

I had a pleasant tour of this community. I toured it for my mother, and her needs. The community looked good, everything I saw was nice, and clean. The staff was kind, and helpful. They answered my questions, and it was a good experience overall. It was not the right fit for my mother, but my tour was nice.

This community is smaller than others we looked at. The residents are encouraging and engage the new residents. The staff seem to be doing their best to care for the residents. The food is above average as they seem to have more emphasis on the food. This is a medium active community and they keep it clean. I would recommend this community.

I'm having a hard time getting some medical issues taken care of. We're trying to re-order my mothers medication. They are pretty good is some ways, and not so good in other ways. My mother says the food is average. Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's not. The communication with the staff has been pretty good. I would probably recommend the Horizon Bay Altamonte Springs. It just depends on what you need.

I toured this location when I was looking into care options for a loved one. Overall I just was not too impressed with this one. It had a very nice clean looking entrance area, but once you got into the community itself there was a noticeable odor. Other issues like ease of access and parking for visitors were concerns as well.

Everything is just A-OK, I've never had a minutes trouble. They come in every day and clean, the staff is friendly and will stand and talk to you for just as long as you like, they are very friendly. They have something going on quite a bit. I think the food is alright, I eat three meals a day here and I haven't found one thing that is bad. I wouldn't change anything. They have a doctor here on-site that I can check with if I have a concern, or a question. The staff is able to assist me with my medication. I haven't heard anyone else complain either. They have just bent over backwards to help with anything I ask for.
