I cannot say enough about Bridges, from the maintenance crew to the chef, the CNA’s, the Nurses….everyone gets to know the resident, and the family. The care and social activities are amazing. Mom’s first full day as a resident, she went in her first field trip to The Butterfly Place in Westford and loved it! The facility is beautiful, the grounds and resident courtyards have walking paths, raised garden beds, rocking chairs, tables, umbrellas, so many comforts of home. They have Friday afternoon happy hours, which my Mom loved. Residents get to have a mock tail or cocktail and themed based snacks. Unfortunately, my Mom was only there 6 weeks and died in her sleep. My Mom was treated with love and respect the entire time she was there. Great facility and staff!... Read more

My mom recently passed away after almost 2 years here. The quality and caring of the staff throughout her stay (and decline) is nothing more than staggering. Throughout her stay, the staff and management was both supportive and proactive, helping us help my mom. They adapted to her changing support requirements with professional caring that I value. And it was almost as emotional for them as for our family when my Mom passed. This facility does the utmost to provide supportive care and dignity of care.

+ Entire staff is responsive and care is wonderful + Resident care is suburb, staff interact frequently with my Aunt and keep her involved in many activities. + Medical care services are very good, from routine health checks to intervention when needed, excellent success with medication management(getting her to take her pills!) + Beautiful facility, great accomodations - Food is sub-par although balanced. Would expect higher quality food for $9310/month. Would be 5 stars if not for mediocre food.

My mother has lived at Bridges in Westford for more than four years, and I could not have chosen a more perfect place for her! The staff is wonderful- receptive, caring, involved and friendly. The food is nutritious and delicious. The activities are amazing and life enriching. Although my mother’s memory continues to decline, she has thrived in many ways at Bridges.

It's hard when people leave their homes and go into a new place. All in all, mom is getting used to the community and enjoying it and has even made a new friend. i like that the staff checks on the residents every hour. Once on one of the hourly checks, they saw that my mom had fallen and they called the ambulance and got her immediate help. They called my sister, who lives in the area, and she was able to meet my mom at the hospital. Fortunately, while my mom needed stitches, she was okay. We were all so happy she was at bridges instead of at home. It is good that she is not alone anymore and has the community's help.

I have a family member who has been at this facility for over a year. The staff is kind but I definitely would not recommend this facility. They do not have enough staff to meet needs of residents. The communication from the director, to wellness director, to nursing, to caregivers is poor and very frustrating as a family member. There is a high turnover of staff and inconsistent care. Aside from giving meds, there is no nursing care, not even as much as an occasional weight check. As I said, the staff is kind and compassionate and they do try but major organizational changes are needed to improve here. We would move our family member except for the for the upset that would cause him. Could not recommend.

Response from Bridges by EPOCH at Westford
December 15, 2016We're so sorry to hear that your experience at Westford has been less than exceptional. Our residents and families are our number one priority, and we'll do everything in our power to alleviate concerns that may arise. The staff turnover rate at our community is actually quite low. You may have noticed some new faces in our building because we've added several staff members in the last year to better meet the needs of our residents and families. Our Wellness Team offers nursing care 12 hours a day, seven days a week. Due to the fact that we are an assisted living community rather than a skilled nursing facility, there are legal limits to the nursing care our staff can provide. For this reason, we have several community healthcare partners who make round-the-clock visits to our community to provide any additional care our residents might need. Please give us a call so we can learn more about how to provide you and your loved one with the best possible experience at our community. We hope to hear from you soon.
Short staffed, meals not healthy, negligent in patient care due to lack of staffing.

Response from Bridges by EPOCH at Westford
April 3, 2015At Bridges by EPOCH, it’s important to us that families and visitors touring the community always experience the highest quality of care, oversight and service. We are saddened to learn that your short visit was not a positive one and we wish we had the opportunity to address your concerns and questions while you were here. Bridges by EPOCH at Westford has worked with many families and professionals since our 2013 opening who would be happy to speak with you about their experiences here. The Bridges team listens to the feedback made by our staff, families and professional community and makes every attempt to continually improve. We take resident health very seriously and strive to provide three well-balanced meals a day. Our chef plans each day’s menu with the residents in mind and receives advice from a nutritionist. It’s our goal to provide homemade meals from fresh ingredients that aren’t frozen or premade. Please let us know of any concerns you had about the meals you witnessed on your tour. To speak to the rest of your review, our team at Bridges by EPOCH is dedicated to our residents and we have many residents and their families who would speak to that. The ratio of caregivers to residents is fully compliant with federal and state regulations, and we take a lot of care in ensuring everyone on our wellness team, and throughout the rest of our staff, fits in with our program and upholds the Bridges philosophy. Our door is always open and we would welcome you to meet and speak with us at any time.

A Place for Mom has scored Bridges by EPOCH at Westford 8.9 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
