My mother spent several quality years living at Brandywine both in assisted living and memory care. She had always resisted the idea of assisted living but from the first day there she loved it. She enjoyed the myriad of physical, and social activities and was involved in everything. She was able to continue her zest for life and thoroughly enjoyed it there. The staff were friendly, compassionate, and very supportive of her needs. She liked taking to me about the numerous events and delicious meals. My mother recently passed and the staff remained equally supportive in following her needs and wishes during this trying time. The staff reached out to me regularly with compassion and information from all levels be it the aides, nurses, or administrative staff. My mother's desires and needs were met and Brandywine made this difficult time comforting and supportive for her and her family. Thank you Brandywine.... Read more

This community was not as bright as other communities that I looked at. It seemed to be a little dark, the care was good that I was seeing it just did not give that feeling that I was looking for.
Several months back my dad found out that he had stage 5 dementia and needed 24/7 care. We had lots of choices and saw lots of facilities. Very confusing process…. My dad is a World War II Veteran, him and his six brothers served at the same time in WWII, they call my dad [name removed] for short. My dad loves life and loves talking about his parents, his “6” brothers and “2” sisters and his immediate family, wife [name removed] son and granddaughter- [name removed]”. His granddaughter lights up his life whenever she’s near. Mom found the Brandywine by accident, she made the appointment and that’s when she met [name removed] director of community relations at the Savoy. She “[name removed] “had us at hello. A great facility, great people. They care for you like family and in some cases better than family. Her teams is outstanding. They go above and beyond their daily responsibilities. Yes I’m jaded since my dad gets exceptional care and [name removed] and her team treat mom and dad like family, a five star experience. The Savoy is friendly and inviting. Their people is their best quality. From what we’ve seen everyone is very caring, your treated like a human being. The food is excellent. The rooms are spacious and there is lots of things to do. THANK YOU [name removed] for taking care of my mom and dad’s daily needs. They mean everything to me and you have treated them like family and for that I thank you. God Bless you and your entire team!!!!!

We moved my mother and her aide from independent living into the Brandywine Savoy 2 months ago. We moved her quickly because I was going in for surgery and I needed to make sure she would adjust and be happy. They have wonderful aides there but I was relieved that we could take her aides with her. They are part of our family. We checked out many assisted living places. Just want to mention, unlike the Bristol, they also allow personal aides to sit with your parent if need be. [name removed] and the entire staff have been awesome. [name removed] made the transition easy and relaxing for us. The wellness center and dining facility have helped my mother with all her new needs such as food thickener added to her food and drink. Brandywine is very organized with laundry, housekeeping and maintenance. I’m very impressed with their wellness center! They have entertainment and many activities throughout the day. Her one bedroom apartment has nice sized living room and bathroom. Bottom line, I highly recommend the Brandywine Savoy for your parents. They treat everyone lovingly and have the knowledge and experience to support your parent as well as their family.

I suppose it could be worse, so we'll assign 2 stars. Very understaffed. Some staff are nice and helpful and caring, others are useless and clueless. The issue with a place like this is the necessity to rely on the staff and when staff members are unreliable, as was often the case here, it is impossible to feel comfortable with the staff or the environment. I would agree it was probably not the best fit for my mom, it was clear all they wanted was money and all they're after is money, so they either should've never accepted her, or addressed the fact the were unable to properly accommodate her. I highly, highly recommend doing extensive research before entering an elder family member into this type of environment. I suspect a family member it that is fully able to handle themselves and potentially live on their own, but you simply want a senior community for them to live in, this could be a good fit, if you think it's worth an ADDITIONAL $3,000+ per month as compared to standard rent if they we're living on their own. No one is going to encourage them to do activities and participate in the events, so they will need to be willing to do those things on their own. Otherwise, this place is a Complete waste of time and money if you don't have plenty of expendable income.

My Mom lived at Brandywine for 2.5 years. I cannot speak highly enough about the warmth, dedication and caring compassion of the staff. They always made us feel welcome, and went out of their way to work with us to accommodate Mom’s needs. The facility is clean and well maintained. Although she didn’t participate in the social activities and ultimately the assisted living model didn’t work for her, we always knew that Mom was safe, comfortable and well cared for at Brandywine.

This location is just incredible. Whether it is the regular facility or the Alzheimer's/dementia unit, the staff are caring and work so hard to get everyone involved. They have countless events for the residents such as art classes, card games, exercises and more. The staff decorates and do an incredible job to lift spirits for every resident. They work hard to work with the residents, rather than just get the job done and go home. They actually listen to their residents and care about what goes on. I was volunteering there for 4 months, still going and I can't believe what an experience it has given me. It is such a happy caring environment.

My mom lived at the Savoy for 3 years. During that time, we got to know many of the staff. They are wonderful people. The care they showed really helped. A smile, knowing our names and their dedication are unsurpassed. I cannot say enough good things about the Savoy. Everyone looking in this area should check them out

My mother has been a resident in Brandywine for two months. She consistently states how friendly and helpful the staff are, how nice the other residents are and how much she enjoys the activities. The only draw back is not having outdoor grounds for the residents to independently enjoy. I agree with her assessment each and every time I visit,

My mom was a resident the last year of her life. The care was extraordinary. The staff has continual smiles on their faces and always willing to help. The medical care is attentive, prompt and any issues immediately communicated to me. When my mom was sick the staff always looked in on her and called me with any new recommendations. My mom made a few friends at the home and enjoyed their company. Her unit was always clean. I trusted all the staff in this facility and when I was away, I knew my mom was in good hands.

Dementia affects everyone differently. My Mother was upset by her loss of time and place, reclusive, and frequently in tears until she moved to Brandywine. Thanks to the highly skilled and well trained caregivers who immediately established a rapport with her, she settled into a routine that calmed her, reassured her and comforted her. The tears went away. She trusted her caregivers to guide her through the day. She was soon participating in many activities - morning exercise class, jewelry making, even painting. She never missed the weekly social with live entertainment and enjoyed the music. The entire staff is dedicated to providing high quality resident care. They always made time to discuss Mom’s needs and address any of our concerns. Traveling even a short distance was difficult for Mom. At Brandywine everything she needed was on site. Her doctor visited Brandywine weekly and saw residents as needed. A podiatrist made monthly rounds. The mobile dentist brought a fully equipped office on site, providing excellent, affordable care. Many diagnostic and medical tests could be done on site. Even banking and boutique shopping was available. If you want the best possible care for your loved one, explore Brandywine. Life there is beautiful.

The staff at this expensive community did not seem to be very attentive. My sister fell twice when she lived here for about a month. You have to be down at a certain time for meals. We did not have the best experience with this community.

Seems to be really a wonderful place for our Mom. Mom is busy all day ,and to us that means a lot ,because we hated her sitting alone in an apartment. The staff is friendly and they know my Mom by her name ,this makes us ,feel like it was the best for her. We see her whenever we want ,the staff is always on hand to help, can't say enough about how it has helped our family ,we see a difference in our Mother, she likes going home ,and that makes us happy. They dance play games ,she gets her hair and nails done ,I would say she is loving it .

Having never visited an Assisted Living facility before, I had no idea what to expect. That said, 2 years later, I have been very impressed by the care, overall cleanliness, food, but most importantly the staff. They are engaged, encouraging, interacting and seem to be genuinely happy to be working there. They try to get the residents involved in their many activities which include exercise and art classes, music, movies, card and other games bingo, entertainment and special events and day trips. Also, their chocolate chip cookies are great. I highly recommend Brandywine.

I toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. The facility was well kept and clean, and all of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional. We ended up selecting another community, but this is somewhere I would have considered as an option for my loved one.

I toured this community when I was looking into care options for a loved one. This was a very nice looking place overall, it was clean and well kept, and the staff all seemed friendly and professional. This was a large community, and had more of a hotel feel than a homey feel in many areas. Although it was nice it was also one of the more expensive options I saw while touring.

I was very lucky that Brandywine at the Savoy had room for me on short notice. I am 68 years old and my co-op apartment building had a catastrophic electrical fire. It would be months before the apartments would be re-built, and I was looking for a safe and convenient place to live temporarily. I have osteoarthritis in both knees and require a walk-in shower. After a week at a hotel, I remembered Brandywine from looking for assisted living communities for my parents. Fortunately, Brandywine had a “respite” apartment available. The staff went out of their way to ensure that I had an appropriate desk and chair for my computer set-up, that my bed was comfortable, that the bathroom had grab bars in place so I did not slip and fall, etc. Brandywine is a family-friendly, safety-conscious, and resident-centered community, and I am happy to be here.

So far, it's been good. The staff was a ten, that is why we chose them, the staff and the cleanliness. We like the whole warmth of the environment. The food is excellent! The caliber of care there is wonderful as well.

Brandywine's staff could not be more helpful and pleasant. When I walked into the building I felt like this was home for my Mom - she was always a wonderful decorator and this is a place she could have decorated herself - she said the same thing when she walked in - she felt she was at home
