My most outstanding feeling about this place is that I know going into any situation, things are not always going to be perfect wherever you go. What gives me great satisfaction about Bickford of Rocky River is that the staff here are very responsive to every concern that I have had, I know that I can work with them on every detail and they never make me feel like I am a bother and are always understanding. I really love that the facility is smaller so it does not feel institutional-like and the care is more individualized. For example, I went to pick my mom up on Easter Sunday to go to church and there was a group of ladies waiting in the lobby for their loved ones. [name removed] the executive director was there and he knew the names of all of the residents and their family members as well. That gave me a very good feeling and it shows how involved he is and how much he really cares. The staff are diligent and compassionate and we have been very pleased with the care that they are providing. When you talk to any one of the staff members, they are just as great and delivering as much as [name removed]. It all starts at the top with management and goes down to every staff member. We were looking for places through the thick of covid and during the time when you could not visit your loved ones. I really like that Bickford throughout that time was uploading pictures on their Facebook page of the residents and showing what they were up to and they still continue to do that. After looking at the other facilities, they also definitely had more activities on a daily basis than the others. What also impressed me was that through the worst of covid, there were no positive cases at this facility. The day the vaccine became available, the facility was on top of it and wasted no time. They lined up Walgreens to come in and administer the shots to the residents just a week after it came out. Very understaffed. Most agency workers. They were not prepared for my mother's arrival with a fall pendant, etc. Because of this she fell her 2nd night and was on the floor for 4 hours before they found her. High turnover. The Director of nursing and director have quit. It's run poorly. Their therapy department they contract with was the best part about the place.

The staff were wonderful to work with during our short stay. The community was great to check on my loved one during the hospital stay and afterwards. The tour was great and I was impressed. The staff member that was doing the tour knew all the residents names and the residents were happy to see her. It seemed like a very friendly place.

the community is very homey and my parents really like the community. the staff is very friendly and caring. They are very accommodating to the residence, and the community is very clean. The staff go above and beyond and really care about the residence. I would recommend this community to others

We moved our loved one into this community during the pandemic and it was a wonderful experience. He got all the right treatment and therapy that he needed. He was pretty reserved because he had came from isolation, but for a month a staff members ate lunch with him everyday. Not only did they give him normal therapy but they even taught him how to dance during his therapy. Which was a shock since he could barely walk at the previous community. I got married in august and the market director offered to come to the wedding as our fathers plus one so we did not have to worry. We knew he was in great hands for then entire evening and he had a blast. We could say a million good things about the care, environment and the community.

The people at this community are a standout to me. The nurses were good. The entertainment at the community was also good. We really enjoyed the place.
We chose Bickford of Rocky River because they really made us feel like family. When we walked in it was a homey environment and the staff were very friendly. They have been wonderful, great with communication and very attentive to my grandmothers needs as well as mine. It is a great facility and I would highly recommend.

Manager ([name removed]) was extremely helpful. She listened well, asked insightful questions, and tailored the conversation to our specific situation and candidate. She was very familiar with the operations, capabilities, policies, etc. of the community. She personally interacted with every resident we encountered on our tour, and was obviously liked and respected. She also made very helpful suggestions about hospice providers, the process of getting medical equipment, etc. Far and away the best provider we interviewed.

The only thing she has a problem with is the hot water. She said it is a problem. Other concerns: I don't know when you are taking her to the doctor and when we need other arrangements. Besides that she loves the place. I feel she has gotten out there and seems to be doing great. Thank You

Assisted living side seemed more bright and alive; the memory care seemed more dark and not as appealing, but they looked like they cared for their residents. Said they will be updating the facility in the near future.

The Sunrise was really very nice. It felt like a home with all these beautiful antiques and appointments throughout the floors' i.e. lovely sitting areas, common room, atrium with birds, dining room, sun porch, and small library. The staff also very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. But these apartments also lacked a kitchen...because this is primarily Assisted Living. I liked the fact that is was a smaller facility and would have been easier I think for seniors to acclimate.

I thought the staff were very friendly and did an excellent job with giving my dad and I a tour of their community. The community was very pleasant but they did not allow pets and they did not accept Medicaid should my father run out of money while he was there and I was looking for a community that would so that I would not have to move him once he was settled in.

Nice place with nice people. Clean. No foul smell. No residents asking for help. The rooms are tiny, though. Would not work for my mom who has oxygen, electric wheelchair, extra tanks, etc.

I did not receive a full tour of this community. I was only in the lobby. The part of the community I saw was nice. I did pick up some literature to find out more about the community. This community was a little more expensive and a little farther away than the one we chose.

We toured this community for care. The room was nice, but it seemed as little congested for care. The staff was nice and friendly and they were able to answer the questions we had. We liked the activities that would be offered. We would suggest that families tour this community for the care of a loved one.

I'am satisfied with my mothers move to this community. So far everything is working out pretty well, and she is doing good. They have a good staff, and they have been attentive, and helpful. They have activities available for the residents when they are ready to participate. With my mother being the picker eater she is, surprisingly she is satisfied with the meals. I like the fact it is a nice, small community. It isn't so overwhelming to my mother. This is a community I would recommend, it is working out well for us.

This place is absolutely horrible staff puts on a front as if they care for your loved ones but are concerned only with money employees a horrible staff of caregivers violating many state policies and regulations.

My mother is being cared for very well here at this community. She is currently on hospice, and they are doing a good job caring for her. They have been awesome to work with. They do a good job with the cleanliness of the facility. I know she is in good hands, and being provided with great care. This is a community I would recommend.
