My mother really likes living there and I would highly recommend it to anyone who asks. Everyone is incredibly friendly, the place is really nice and we feel mom is safe there. Even though my mom really liked the food, we find it interesting that she has told us sometimes they run out of things as simple as a baked potato. There have been a few other things, baked potato struck me funny to run out of. I'm sure not to be wasteful of food they only make so many and first ones at the dining room get dibs. While I commented and only gave a 4, my mother loves the food there! My brother and I find it amusing when she tells us when they run out of something and she may not be the one asking someone she sits with.... Read more

All around it was a great experience. The personality of the staff is what really stuck out, they are very helpful and make you feel like you are at home. The food was fantastic, they had a lot of great activities, and the value was phenomenal. I would highly recommend Benchmark to others! (try their chocolate chip cookies, they are TO DIE FOR).

My loved one loves the food, is very happy, and loves the activities. They were good, with getting my loved one oriented into their new space, and getting them adjusted. They could do better with communicating/explaining to the family about what they're expectations. I'm glad I called A Place for Mom, it was much easier to get in contact with places, and sort things out. It made things much easier to coordinate.

When I toured this community the staff was very nice as well as the community itself, This was my second choice, however the other facility we looked at was just closer and I wanted my loved one to be closer to me.
The feedback I would share with others would be positive. The people are very friendly and kind, they help you anytime you need it. They are just wonderful, they really are.

We moved mom to Chelmsford Crossing 2 1/2 months ago. She has been more energetic, and upbeat since the move. The food is good and the care is excellent. All the staff from the receptionist, chef, manger, housekeeper, nurse and aides ALL care for the residents.

My family needed urgent help raising the level of health care for a family member who was unable to live alone with rapidly declining health. The disease my family member was afflicted with became very aggressive and we looked for relief of the situation. The staff at Chelmsford Crossings was very supportive, clearly explained their services and demonstrated their commitment to providing high level of support within their community. The empathy displayed towards our needs has had a profound influence on our decision. Once our family member moved in we found comfort in the level of care provided. I would highly recommend considering Chelmsford Crossings as a step to increase the level of care for a loved one...

My friend and neighbor with no family needs changes after some health issues. I search for places that would take great care of him while he healed in hopes of returning home. The staff at Chelmsford Crossings were wonderful and always made him feel special. After 8 months ( name removed) was well enough to return home, unfortunately his health deteriorated and his care at home would no longer be able to live on his own one year later. The Chelmsford Crossings welcomed (name removed) back with open arms and soon realized that this was the perfect spot for him to stay. I feel like the entire staff goes above and beyond, the food is top notch, and the facility day to day experience has been a pleasant one both for(name removed)and myself. I highly recommend Chelmsford Crossing to anyone that wants a top notch facility with people that care.

Benchmark Senior Living was a nice facility but it was smaller and less modern looking. The staff were all very friendly and gave us a great tour and the level of care was there, it was just not the best fit we felt for our loved one.
Our family had an in person tour and it was during covid so we think maybe given different circumstance it would of been better but the place just seemed dark. It seemed congested and the hallways were just dark and narrow

April 15, 2022Thanks for your review, we are sorry to hear that you feel this way about our community after your tour. The pandemic has been difficult for us, but we have been able to resume more of our programs, and would encourage you to consider us again if ever interested in the future!
At Chelmsford Crossings we feel known and cared for by the staff at all levels. The staff are extremely present (from directors to aides) and involved and always take our requests seriously. The patience and kindness they show to my parent is quite wonderful and respectful. They really go the extra mile to make things smoother for my parent and my family. We are grateful to have found this wonderful facility.

It's been nearly 3 years since my mom has been residing at Chelmsford Crossings. During the last 2 challenging covid years, all I can say is THANK YOU to the community for keeping her safe! I appreciate the genuine care and concern the C.C. Team has toward each resident. From nursing, aides to dining staff & housekeeping they all take an interest & connect with each & every resident. The environment is extremely friendly which is very welcoming and gives that "family feeling" atmosphere. I also must mention , what a comfort it is to have nursing check in with mom and communicate any concerns that arises. I'm very grateful for these sets of eyes! To fulfill one's day, a variety of activities are offered. Live entertainment is LOVED by all and my mom enjoys bridge, book club and trivia. As our love ones age, we only want what is best for them. For mom & myself Chelmsford Crossing's is what's BEST. It truly give me Peace of Mind!

We understand the staffing shortage across the industry and the staff there are kind and do their best they are being let down by in house management, all the way to corporate ownership. They recently went up again on rent, while going way down on services and care. Management has not taken a pay cut. The nursing staff has been cut, to where there is no longer 24 hours nurses. Nothing is followed through from one nurse to the next. The food used to be good but now they serve a lot of processed food and carbs. Pasta, frozen pizza, chicken fingers, hot dogs, hamburgers on a HOT DOG roll and they over serve deserts. Aides not properly trained. Not caring if the person needs to use the bathroom or be cleaned up. They will leave them in soiled cloths or undergarments all day. Residents are left isolated. It's not all the aides fault, the fault lies with management/ownership. It's the proverbial profits over people. It has now gone beyond neglect to bordering abuse.

Response from Benchmark Senior Living at Chelmsford Crossings
January 24, 2022Hi Tony, thank you for your feedback. I am saddened to here of your experiences and you have my deepest apologies. While we all face rising costs, supply chain shortages and staffing challenges Chelmsford Crossing and Benchmark has been very fortunate to find alternative sources and maintain our high level of services to these challenges. I would welcome the opportunity to address your concerns directly as I do not believe we have spoken to these concerns in the past. Please reach out to me at the community.
It's something you don't want to have to do. But if you need to, they're very good. They're very attentive, and the facilities are neat and accessible. It's close to my home, which is good. I'm a bit spoiled when it comes to food. My wife is a chef and her cooking is excellent, so some of the meals here are not that good and tend to be repetitive. But overall I would recommend them to others.

It's a very nice place. It's very clean, and the staff are cordial. They've been very good about keeping in contact and answering and returning calls. The seem very confident and caring, and responsive to requests. The rooms are very nice, and my loved one is very happy here. Really the only issue I've had is I don't like the way they charge you for services that you only need 1-2 days a week. You end up paying for those services for the whole week.

So far everything is working out pretty well since my sisters move to this community. We do feel she is safe, and in good hands. The family is comfortable with her move to this community. When I speak to her, she sounds like a brand new women. All is well for my love one in this community.

This is a lovely community, and my tour of it went well. The staff was kind, and friendly. They were informative, and my questions were answered. From what I saw they do a good job with the cleanliness. It was a good experience, but I did find another Benchmark that met our needs betters.

The staff at Benchmark are excellent. They make you feel like family. The rooms are good sized. They offer daily activities like bingo as well as trips out. My father in law love's the food and they do have a good variety of choices. The community is very clean and I would highly recommend it.

The community was nice and seemed clean. It was a little larger community than we were looking for and it did feel a little rundown. The people were lovely.

Chelmsford Crossing is a very caring, pleasant home. We were embraced the first day and I feel my family member is well cared for and looked after. This was a good decision and our family feels very lucky that we found Chelmsford Crossing.
