We liked the facility and rooms. It has a homey/upscale feel. The different levels of care and activities available. And also, an on site nursing staff - very important feature to us. I would have no problem recommending the Belmont. All the resident/staff interactions I have witnessed have been caring and friendly. The nursing staff has been responsive when we needed them to be. While no place is perfect, we are pleased with our mom's care... Read more

We toured this community while looking into care options for a loved one. Belmont Village was a very nice looking place! The facility itself was well kept and clean, and the location was very convenient for us. All of the staff I met seemed friendly and professional, as well! However, I felt that it was a little too big for my loved one to be comfortable, I really wanted something all on one floor for her. That being said, if it ever comes to a point where Mom needs memory care this place would be my first choice, I was very impressed by their memory care unit!

Our mother has resided at Belmont Village for four years, first in Assisted Living and now in The Neighborhood (memory care). The management team has helped us determine her best care plan as she has aged and her needs have increased. The caregivers and nurses are excellent, we have great confidence in their compassion and expertise. We are pleased that we chose Belmont Village after considering many options, and we value our ongoing trust and confidence in the care they provide to our mother.

The only visible drawback to this facility is that it is further away from my home. Otherwise it would be a contender, at the appropriate time.

My only reservation was that it was further away than some other residential facilities.

They are doing fantastic. I could not be happier with them. It really is the perfect place for him. I don't have any concerns or complaints at all so far. Out of the five or so different places we looked at this was definitely the best one.

My father in law is staying there and requires 24/7 care. We do have a little difficulty with the staff in managing that away. It's like they are not fully vested in him because he is leaving soon. That said, they are very professional and friendly and should be praised for that.

Although the facility is a bit older than the other communities I have visited. It is clean and well maintained. Their program is designed by Vanderbilt University. They have a nurse on staff full time to administer medications and deal with minor health issues.

It’s nice. The food is pretty good. There is enough parking. We haven’t had any trouble with the laundry service at all. We picked it because it was the one my mom liked the best. They are pet friendly and I think they’re clean and friendly.

My mother moved there only two months ago. It's too early to evaluate. I live in Washington state, so can only base observations on my siblings' comments who live in Houston, Texas. Belmont has compehensive programs for residents with varying degrees of dementia as well as those without. I understand that the caregivers are friendly and attentive, and the food is very good. The layout of the facility is warm and inviting. So far I believe that we made the best choice for our mother after visiting ten othe facilities. But again, my experience is limited due to the short time that our mother has lived there and my distance from Houston. Ask again in six months. I cannot comment on cost because room sizes differ and the care level varies (help with medications, special programs for those with dementia, bathing needs, etc) . I didn't mean to use the "more categories" below, but since I cannot erase, I must rate all excellent.

Loved the location, very nice facility and all of the activities. Liked that there were several different stages of care for residents from more active and independent to dementia care unit.

This would be our first choice. Staff and residents were smiling. Lots of activity and interactions. Staff was attentive. Everywhere we looked there was a member of the staff engaging one or more residents. Food looked good. Rooms were clean and in good repair. Overall feeling was warm and inviting. Our score is 4 stars. Only holding back 1 star due to somewhat confusing pricing around levels of care.

A Place for Mom has scored Belmont Village West University 7 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
