Autumn Leaves of St. Charles

They have good people here. It is a clean and caring community. The staff communication with family is pretty good. We do understand they have 40 residents to take care of.

The all inclusive pricing is one of the biggest pluses for this community and my loved one. The staff are pretty good and understanding with my loved one. They are very caring and informative making sure I always know whats going on.

It is an overall good place. The staff are caring and have the best interests of the residents at heart. They are willing to accommodate dietary restrictions. They have bowling, games, movies, music, and more for activities for the residents to choose from.

I was reluctant at first to release my mother to any memory care facility. After choosing Autumn Leaves in St. Charles I soon found that I made the right choice. All of the staff at Autumn Leaves have their specialized roles, but they all move beyond those boundaries to care for the residents in a loving manner. The team at Autumn Leaves don't work 9 to 5 jobs. They are committed to providing the best experience they can for their residents as well as family members. Their active engagement of family members and commitment to know each of their residents personally and deeply can only come from a place of love. I am so thankful for the care that they provide my mother.

Autumn Leaves has been taking great care of our loved one for years. The staff is very caring, competent and compassionate. The rooms in the building are clean and made to give comfort to their residents. I would highly recommend Autumn Leaves to other families who have loved ones in need of full time memory care.

ABSOLUTELY choose this place if your family member needs dementia care. We looked in the area at about 10 places but they all had different types of rates that increase once the resident's condition progresses. My wife actually works at a neurologists office so we are well aware of what to look for in finding memory care. With Coronavirus still prohibiting visitors, Autumn Leaves has done a great job of keeping us informed and communicating care my mother-in-laws and progress. They also share on Facebook pics of her and she is attending so many activities. We couldn't be happier.

We did one of those virtual tour things with them and it actually worked out really well b/c they like took us around the same way they would have in person and answered all of our questions. We were concerned about moving our Aunt in while the virus is going on but when they explained how they are handling stuff like staying clean and limiting folks from the outside coming in we knew we made the choice.

We are so happy that during these tough times we didn't just find a place, but found a place of such high quality in Autumn Leaves that is accepting new residents. Most facilities aren't accepting new residents because of coronavirus but they made it very easy and went above and beyond to ensure our Mom has the right day-to-day care now rather than have to wait until what could be months ahead.

Our family moved my Dad in 2017 to Autumn Leaves of St. Charles and we are pleased to report he is still there and doing great. What motivated us to write a review now is that our neighbor is looking to move their Aunt into a dementia care facility and was asking what our thoughts and even if places were accepting new residents with these uncertain times of coronavirus. We are super happy with the care my Dad is getting and they have made it easy for us to stay connected with him via video Skype and coming and seeing him albeit behind the glass door but on the phone and just to hear his voice and see him smile gives us comfort. Thank you Autumn Leaves for all that you guys do. I can confidently say the caregivera are amazing.

My father in law arrived at Autumn Leaves in the early part of 2020. His wife, my mother in law, toured many, many facilities to find the right fit for him, as well as the rest of the family. When we first toured Autumn Leaves, I noticed it was clean, organized and the staff was SO kind. As time went on, my opinion of the facility only improved. Any time we requested service for my father in law, we were met with prompt, kind assistance. He may not remember who we are, but he always seems to be very content. The staff at Autumn Leaves has been very good about ensuring the safety of their residents during the difficult times of COVID-19, and for that we are extremely grateful. I would recommend anybody looking for a safe, comfortable facility for their loved one consider Autumn Leaves in St Charles. I have never, for one second, felt that my beloved father in law was receiving anything other than the highest level of care.

When I was searching for a memory care facility for my loved one, there were a surprising number to choose from within a 10-mile radius of my home. I toured each facility and while making such an important decision is never easy, there were several factors that I felt distinguished "AL" from the pack. Theie single level layout was visually appearling and I knew would be easy for my husband to navigate. The common areas were open and airy and I liked the fact that all the residents were together throughout the day. Dining rooms were welcoming and I appreciated that my husband would be eating with the same gentlemen each evening. Those were the reasons I initially CHOSE Autumn Leaves. Now that my husband has been there for a few months, I can also speak to the professionalism and commitment of the caregivers. The nursing staff is simply exceptional and [name removed], the newly-appointed director, and [name removed], the activities director, have genuine passion for their residents. If you're considering a memory care facility in the Fox Valley, make sure and visit Autumn Leaves!

As siblings we looked for a place for mom. We choose Autumn Leaves because it looked clean, it was small and thought it would be comforting for our mother who had a tumor in her head for many years. We got a call late one night, the nurse said “ your mom fell in the bathroom, I think she may have broken her wrist, and maybe her hip, what should I do?” She was very nervous. She tried to reach my brother who lives near Autumn Leaves but couldn’t get through. I told her to call for an ambulance, not realizing they would be calling a company out of Waukegan and 911 was never called! My brother waited in the hospital for her arrival for 2 1/2 hours! Not knowing what was going on! Just terrible, maybe she would’ve been found laying on the floor earlier if the room doors were left open and their patients weren’t locked inside! I’ve asked for all the paperwork pertaining to this night....still waiting.

A very nice, caring group of people work there. It's a clean, well-run facility. Staff is very supportive for family members.

I had recently taken a tour of this community for my mother and I have no complaints of how things had went for us. The staff where on time to our appointment and made sure to answer any questions we had for them. They offered us a meal and where professional throughout our visit. I just did not think my husband would have fit in very well at this place but it was a nice visit.

Overall Autumn Leaves of St. Charles has friendly and caring conscientious staff. The rooms are very clean and it smells good. It is a smaller community with 48 beds and is all on one floor, so it creates a warmer and homey atmosphere. My husband enjoys the food, the staff he has a very good appetite. They do provide activities for the residents to engage and the staff encourages them to participate. The landscaping outdoors is well-kept and provides nice walkways and sitting areas to enjoy the outdoors. I would definitely recommend this community to others.
