I will tell everyone and recommend Amelia House

Was very thankful to Amelia House for taking Mom on. I think she was a difficult case with her issues, but she could walk to dining room and back so that helped her stay. The place and Mom's room was always clean. At First the staff was great!!!! Then ownership changed and the really good people started leaving. At one time they only had 'floaters' (temp people)on staff that were unfamiliar with Mom and quickly started ignoring her help button. Mom would call me for help and I had to call front desk to get her someone to help. I understand about busy times but geez. Everyone there was really dedicated to seeing to the patients. Completely understand the difficulties of pleasing everyone, but served a lot of finger type foods not really meal worthy. (Grill cheese, sandwiches, sloppy joe) I know they lost their cook and the poor staff had to prepare food till they got a replacement. Since Mom wasn't a come joiner she didn't attend many activities. I wish they would've contacted me more about special games, etc then I could've been there to help Mom join in. I understand quality care is ALOT, but to have to Supply toliet paper and paper towels is a bit over the top. My Mom was safe, comfortable and didn't have to worry about anything. That was for me. I have lost my Husband and now Mom has passed. Here I am trying to care for both estates best I can. When it's my turn to go into assisted living I'll not be able to afford it. Thank You So Much for all your help and advice. It is priceless for the people who need it. I will tell everyone and recommend Amelia House. All assisted living places have good/bad issues. Step above the rest

I want to thank everyone at Amelia but especially [name removed] for doing such a phenomenal job. They made our whole experience so easy, and stressful. [name removed] communicated and helped me every step of the way. It is clean, with a warm feel about it. My mom has had nothing but good things to say so far. I give this team a 10 out of 10.

Need to be more attentive to residents

My loved one is not getting, what they are paying for. The staff is friendly but not truthful. They are not treating my loved one very well. My loved one does not like a lot of the food choices. They do not have 24 hour nursing staff. They are not attentive to the needs of my loved one. They make commintments that they don't keep, and are very unfriendly.

Both of my parents lived here

Both of my parents lived here and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was like family and would visit on a personal level and took great care of my parents. There were several instances where staff would come down and watch football with my dad or even visit with him about his farming days and different topics. It truly feels like home.

Helpful, caring, supportive facility

Whenever my loved one has needed something or something isn't quite right, the staff has always been right there to help resolve the issue, especially management staff. It's a small enough community that I feel like she gets the attention she needs. We came in during Covid, so I can't compare a lot of stuff. But they have transportation that takes them to appointments. The food is okay. It wasn't the best when we first moved in, with lots of casserole-ish dishes. But after the first of the year, it improved greatly. Activities have been somewhat limited with Covid, but they're starting to offer more things, such as exercises, crafts, and holiday activities. My loved one seems to be doing fairly well here, and I feel like they see her as a person and not just a room number.

Feeling safe at home

We chose Amelia Place because of the security that they had. The girl who was showing us around also had a big play in it, they were all very welcoming. The room sizes here are fairly spacious, they do have options on sizes as well. They have an inside outdoor area that was very nice and safe if your loved one likes to go outside that they can enjoy whenever they wanted. Overall, I would recommend this community.

Beautiful facility. Sweet staff. 80% of residents are Level 3-6. Does not take Medicaid applications. Small. Estimated 54 residents. Not in Mom and Dads best interest as they are independent living and need only minor assistance.

Amelia Place is caring and loving.

The care my mother has been receiving at Amelia Place is outstanding. They care about her well being and care for her as an individual. I admire the way they continue to engage the residents even though some of the residents are unable to participate. Thank you so very much for all you do for my mother and the other residents. I feel there are times the elders are not always easy to care for all the time. The staff certainly are doing an outstanding job. My mother is not an easy person to get along with at this stage of her illness but the staff continues to care for her in a very loving and kind way.

Exceptional care and friendly staff

I am a home health care RN. I visit many Assisted Living communities in the area. I was very impressed with the staff, and especially the great care that my patients receive. I have recommended and will continue to recommend Amelia Place to other patients. The community is very clean and a great positive atmosphere!

Caring and helpful staff!!

I have had the opportunity of coming to Amelia Place for my home health therapy patients and the staff is extremely friendly. The resident I see for services is always saying how wonderful the care is she receives and I have witnessed it first hand. I go to several other care centers and the Amelia Place has by far the most helpful and caring staff.

Caring staff from The Top down!!

This community is a true example of family. My Mother had the opportunity to live at Amelia Place and at first hated the idea of moving out of her home but by the time she passed at Amelia Place she was telling everyone in town that this is the place to be and I still come visit when I am back this way because this staff cared not just for Mom but for my whole family. I recommend Amelia Place to anyone!

Blessed

My dad moved in a little over a month ago, and we could not be happier! They treat him with respect, they joke with him (which he loves), they clean his room every Sunday and do his laundry too! There are many activities if he would want to partake in them. I am so blessed [Removed] came to Mercy Hospital that night and helped us with the process of moving him. We are blessed because of The Amelia Place!

Issues

Hardly worth a star. I once walked into this place and saw a girl popping meds while she was pushing the med cart. Saw residents in wheel chairs just sitting by themselves. The few nice employees they have, have nothing nice to say about the place either. Luckily I don't have any relatives here but a friend does and if it wasn't for this resident passing away I'm sure we would have pulled them out. This place makes rising sun look phenomenal!

If you don't have poa you are treated like a [Removed]. My parent is treated like a [Removed]. Residents are not treated with respect or like valued human beings. If you are there for very long and watch and listen you will see. There is not enough to do to keep residents involved. Health issues are ignored. Nurse is distant and unfriendly and unhelpful. The assistant director is completely uncapable of handling her job.

I would live here!

The care at Amelia Place is excellent and my friend likes living here. The food is delicious and they invite family and friends to holiday celebrations. The memory care unit uses tracking devices to help make sure the residents are safe. It is a lovely place that offers cocktails if they would like them. The community is clean and they do her laundry. I would highly recommend this community.
