I read the two reviews and those reviews are outdated and don't reflect the Amber Lights my parents are in currently. Yes, it can be a little shocking when you see the cost of this senior living community but this is just what this level of service cost now a days. The place is very well cared for. The garden/grounds are beautiful and relaxing. My dad enjoys walking around the property and feels safe. The food in the dining room is first rate and always changing. Even the young staff in the dining room and very pleasant and attentive to the residents. They quickly learn the names of the residents and their dining preferences. Many of of staff members have worked at Amber Lights for years and you can tell that they are happy working there. The caregivers are very patient with my parents as they transitioned into their new apartment. This was the first time my family had to find a senior living apartment for my parents and we are so thankful that Amber Lights has worked out so well for my parents and for us.... Read more

Everything is great to get you into a unit and then you’re on your own. No map, directory of whom to call or tour of facilities. My friend just moved in and her front door lock fell apart. They can’t get another one for a week. She’s living there without a lock on her door. No security! Just excuses. Things go bad once she moved in & $. Only good thing is it’s a thirty day notice to move out. Poor choice for an old facility. They need a better maintenance program.

I found Amber Lights to be a cold uncaring facility. The Director was impersonal, detached and did not seem interested in discussing my concerns when confronted. There have been recent theft incidents noted on the local news and the staff always seem unorganized and ill at ease. Typically, this is management related in my experience. This used to be a decent place to live, but I am reconsidering my residency.

Response from Amber Lights
December 14, 2018I’m sorry for your experience. I would never want any of my residents or resident family to feel like their concerns were not heard, and I would like the chance to make it up to you. My door is always open to you, or if more convenient, you can reach me at [removed]. Sincerely, Teresa Merritt

If you wish for your loved one to live out their "Golden Years" in a filthy, corrupt, and neglected environment, then may I suggest Amber Lights. We placed our Father in this hole about a year and half ago. In the beginning, things appeared normal. Then, as his health declined, we began to notice the lack of care he was being provided by the staff. His diet, hygiene, personal security, and over mental state was obviously being ignored. During several unannounced visits we came upon my Father in fecal soiled clothing, smelling of urine, along with the horrific odor in his apartment, days of not being shaved or groomed and if that isn't enough, his last few days there, one of the staff members stole his wedding ring of 70 years which he wore everyday of his life until some cockroach took it. We contacted the staff on each of these cases which fell upon deaf ears and at best pathetic excuses. We filed a police report which may or may not materialize? Bottom line is this place should be shut down and every staff member fired! Whomever stole his ring will pay a far great debt than the mere value of what they took.

The tour was good, I saw the amenities and the facility looked very nice. We saw there was too many assisted living residents. The residents did not seem to be active, more sitting around. I felt the sales rep was not friendly. They did not have a full kitchen for my mom. It is a newer community.
