My loved one is a resident at Aegis of Lake Union. Most important is to clearly understand level of staffing. Is there adequate coverage during day and night? It seems like they are not always fully staffed. The staff that they do have is excellent. A second issue that drives me crazy is how the laundry works. Every day there are strange clothes in my loved one's closet and I have no idea where many of his clothes are. Once, I saw a resident wearing my vest (not my loved one's) from my work. The laundry is a small issue. but it drives me crazy. I haven't seen the new grey towels that I provided since July. Food prep is also important- we never ate fried or junk food at home. There seems to be more reliance on this type of food now than there was in the beginning. They don't seem to have as many salads. Overall, I am happy and grateful to the personal care and attention that the staff have provided to my loved one and his care.... Read more

About the facility Aegis of Lake Union

Take in sweeping views of Lake Union and the Space Needle from our extraordinary assisted living and memory care community, located in the very heart of the Emerald City. If you love the vibrancy of Seattle, you will feel right at home here in this urban oasis.

Aegis Living Lake Union is the world’s first assisted living community built to meet the rigorous sustainability building standards of a Living Building Challenge Petal Certification. It is designed to be emission-free and energy-efficient, and harnesses solar power and rainwater. Inspired by the history of rowing on Lake Union, the community’s architecture resembles a shell house design, and the exterior features a striking mural of the legendary rowing team from the University of Washington who won Gold in the 1936 Olympics.

Enjoy chef-prepared meals, innovative programming, and a wealth of on-site health and wellness amenities to relax and embrace life in your new home. We offer around-the-clock assistance tailored to each person’s specific needs, and warmly accommodate couples with differing care needs. Our community is powered by a big-hearted team providing thoughtful, personal care to every resident.

Beautiful facility with friendly staff

When it comes to the activities the music is awesome, however our loved one is not currently participating in many of the other activities for personal reasons. I wish she would because they look great. We would definitely recommend Aegis of Lake Union to other families looking for a place for their loved ones.
