We picked this community, because of the complete med care, on site nurse & care, concierge, shuttle bus, group dining planned festive celebrations, covered walkways, outdoor patio & BBQ area, landscaping, activities, good communication & nice well maintained buildings. I would recommend to other families.

The place was great, however, from my point of view at a time there was Covid in community, so it was a lock down. Nothing bad particularly happened just because of the lockdown. My friend is not there anymore, I moved her from there because what was important for her was to have more activity around her. She was very functional, however, her short-term memory recall was and still is her entire issue. So she needed constant reminders, and whatnot. She also had a cat and she was basically locked in her room because the cat wasn't supposed to go out of the room. Her cat is the love of her life, so with that, she didn't go out of her room and really no one came into her room. Another thing was, the upper staff were all great; they were fantastic and did a perfect job. The actual caregivers were afraid of her because she had this reaction to moving out of a place that she'd lived in for 4.5 years. It triggered behaviors that she's being treated for now, but back then people wouldn't come to her and she would end up not being cared for. She really needed someone to oversee her daily movement. The cost for Aegis Living was [price removed] per month, and unless you're extremely wealthy, that will go by very quickly. Aegis also doesn't accept Title 19, whereas the community she's at does. I know the costs at these places are not low, but what I found is that it wasn't a good setting for her. The place is beautiful without question, it just may have been better under different circumcanstances. When placing a loved one - think about the person and the individual needs of that person. She's now in an adult home and is with people at all times. That has made a big difference, and the cat is able to roam outside of her room. The community she's at is cheaper, but the care is considerably different. At Aegis they have different cottages, and you eat with the people in your cottage. In her cottage there were about 9-10 different ladies, and only one of them talked. In that case, it does makes a difference who you're with. Also with Covid, there were not a lot of activities either. I don't want people to think it isn't a nice place, because it is. The grounds are beautiful and activities are better now. As we were moving her out, I did see that things were different in that regard. But, during her stay, she was not interacting with other people as much as she should have been. My point isn't to make them look awful, because they're not. There should just be a deep consideration of what your family member needs, and what setting works best for them.

Good community, not memory care only.
This community was my third choice. This community was small separate cottages with 10-12 people. This just seemed to small and confined for my loved one.
In the short time she was here, it was a great experience. We chose Aegis because of the amount of care that they were capable of giving, the atmosphere, the way they had them housed. It was 10 residents per house, so they were their own little community. Every time I went in here the staff members here were just wonderful. We could not have picked a better place for her. It was expensive but worth every penny. I would tell others to just check it out and you will know. Just going here you get the feeling that everybody cares and is like a family. I would recommend to others looking.

A Place for Mom has scored Aegis Living Issaquah 8 out of 10 using our proprietary review score.
We assign review scores to give a more reliable view into senior living communities and home care agencies. Our review scores prioritize reviews that are recent — the past 24 months — because we know families need current information when choosing senior care.
Those with many recent, positive reviews receive a high review score, while providers with few recent reviews — regardless of how positive — receive a lower review score. Communities with no recent reviews will not have a review score, even if older reviews are positive. The maximum A Place for Mom review score a community can receive is 10 points.
