Serenity at Cedar Park
4.5

Mom has lived here for about 15 months, but only the last 3 months have been under the new ownership of [name removed] with the name Serenity. The new owners have already incorporated a lot of positive changes and the whole environment there is now much more relaxed and comfortable for both residents and their families. The new owners have listened to our feedback and suggestions and are striving to make living at serenity as pleasant an experience as possible. The home has always been clean and there are no unpleasant odors like you may find in the larger, more institutional type facilities. The home is in a very nice neighborhood, it has a great open floor plan with a very spacious, comfortable living room and a large, family style dinning room table. There is a beautiful back patio where the residents can enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. The home cooked meals are always good and prepared according to the individual needs of each resident. One of the things we like best is the high caregiver to resident ratio. Since the new owners took over, there have been 5 residents with at least two caregivers each day, and one overnight. There are often nursing students and other helpers there as well. And the new owner is also on site regularly, and sometimes the director is there as well. The caregivers are all kind and seem to enjoy what they do. Often times, the residents are gathered around the table playing bingo, or flashcards, or coloring together. The residents all seem content and well cared for. All in all, I would recommend Serenity Cedar park as a good home for your loved one when living alone is no longer an option.

This is a clean home along with my mom's room. She likes the meals they serve here. A few times through the day they have games available. The experience and care has been great and I would recommend this community.

Hampton Senior Living LLC in Round Rock, TX

I really like this facility and all of the staff members. They kept my Father clean and treated him very well. The facility itself is very clean and his room had adequate storage. The food portions were good and my dad even gained some weight! The only thing I didn’t like is the staff said they would provide a chair and bedside table for his room and they didn’t. I had to go out and buy a few things for his room. I would recommend this community to other families.

What are care homes?

Residential care homes are houses in residential neighborhoods that are equipped, adapted, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually between two and 10. Although residential care homes vary significantly depending on the community, services usually include:

  • Help with personal care
  • Medication management
  • Mobility assistance
  • Nutritious meals
  • Social activities and outings

Round Rock, a small city outside Austin, has all the convenient day-to-day resources you could need, like shopping centers, healthcare facilities, and transportation services, as well as its own unique attractions, such as the Round Rock Amphitheatre and the Music on Main Street festival, which add to the city’s unique identity.

In Round Rock, residential care homes — sometimes called care homes, board and care homes, group homes, or personal care homes — are often houses in residential neighborhoods that are adapted, equipped, and staffed to care for a small number of residents, usually 10 or less. Similar to assisted living but in a smaller, more residential setting, these homes provide supervision, organized events, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). This means care homes can help with everyday routines but typically do not provide 24-hour skilled nursing assistance.
